Icontacts App Question

Is there an app that lets you "tag" your contacts as simply as you can label emails in Gmail?

Check out www.conxt.com. We lead with the address book and designed it exclusively for consumers. A lot of our users love the tagging feature that let's you intuitively create groups and labels like you're talking about :)

Do salespeople use the default contacts application on their mobile phone to manage customer contacts?

I really wouldn't recommend doing this at all. Personally I think that whoever hasn't yet embraced a CRM system is making a huge mistake in terms of making the sales process a fluid process. The problem with default contacts apps on your phone is that the ability to track metrics such as number of follow ups effectively will hurt you in the long run. There will be without doubt mix's up and confusion which will result in missed opportunities because you think you've called them more then you actually have or bad blood if you call someone for the 12th time thinking you've only called 6 times etc. There are plenty of free CRM systems out there so if I were you i'd get one of those, anything is better than a default contacts app.

I need an address book / contacts app that allows me to add multiple jobs/companies per person and syncs across iOS + Mac (+ Android if possible). What would you recommend?

Manage it all through a popular backend like Google Docs or Parse. I recently built a contact list app through google docs using this Android app for Rheti and it's working extremely well for me and my company. I don't know if they're out of private Beta but you can request an invite through their site. All you need to do is download the contact list app template from their marketplace, set up your list via google docs, and done. Super easy.

Is there an app that'll collect phone contacts and sync to Gmail and/or Salesforce cms?

Err.. If you are using an Android phone and the official Google Gmail and Contacts apps as opposed to whatever came with the phone, your Google contacts sync automatically to your account. If you are using some other Android contacts app I can’t help without knowing more.If you use an iPhone it’s a bit more problematic. Most apps seem designed to sync contacts from Google to the iPhone, not the other direction. I’m pretty sure it can still be done manually, but I stopped using an iPhone some time ago so I have nothing to experiment with.

Is there a contacts app that syncs to evernote (without IFTTT)?

Well, you can always try Evernote Hello for iOS and Android. Evernote Hello | Evernote

Why does Quora wish to "manage my contacts"?

Not smart to agree to this. The permission is to “manage” contacts, which means adding and deleting, as well as reading. That means we have to trust Quora not to (accidentally or otherwise) ever do that. Also, do you want/need yet another website compiling all of your interests, comments and contacts? Can you envision a way that this may harm you?You can still sign up via email (small text link just outside the modal dialog box), which involves sharing just that - your email address and nothing else. I recommend doing that.

How do I restore my accidentally deleted contacts from an Android phone?

Basically, when you use a android phone, you must be signed in to the phone using one of your google account. Google helps you backup and restore your contacts very easily just in few steps. Before, you might want to try restoring, I would suggest you to login to your gmail account on a PC and go to the "Contacts" Menu as shown in the figure below. You should find all your contacts in this window. Now go to your phone, follow the steps:1. Go to settings.2. Go to Accounts.3. Select Google.4. You should be able to see all your google accounts here. 5. Make sure you have the same account that holds your contacts is configured here. (Otherwise add it using "Add Account" option)6. Now you can synch all or any of your desired applications as below.7. Make sure you have the Contacts Sync button on as seen in the above pic.8. Now, press the 3 dots in the top of the above screen, and select Sync Now.9. You should be able to see all your missed contacts, are getting synched from your gmail account. Now, what if you do not have your contacts in your gmail account? If you have them in form of soft copy (any file) you can import it in to your gmail contacts as CSV file. and then sync them up easily to your mail. So, I recommend all of you to enable auto sync in your android device with your google account and make sure the contacts are synched by checking in the gmail contacts. Beacuse the contacts are sometimes invaluable to us. Let me know, if you want any more help in this.
