If A Job Only Wants A 2 Year Degree How Much Would The Salary Be

What should I do to get salary of 12-15 lpa with 2.5 years of work experience in IT MNC in India? I could not get into a top MBA college and I don't want to do an MS in the US. What should I do now?

I was in the exactly same situation 3 years back stuck in Infy Blr. As of today, my current salary is more than combined salary of 2 of my college friends who went to IIM L/K.My suggestions:-Pick a good skill-set. I focused on UI development and slowly moved towards Data Science. To get into UI dev you need to have a very good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JS + Few frameworks like AngularJS, Bootstrap, ExtJSGet some hands-on experience: Build some project of your own from scratch. I created a simple Task Manager J2EE web app using Maven+Hibernate+JSF+Rest+ UI + Hybrid Mobile app and hosted on Red-hat Openshift. Then switched to another organisation. Be honest in your resume. Everyone knows what people do in Infy. So honestly mention you learnt from your own project. It also shows your passion towards technology.Keep adding complimentary skill sets to your list. I experimented with Data Visualization using Highcharts & D3JS.Add some more: Started to experiment with the massive production data (with permissions of course). Applied Data Science and Machine Learning. Learnt DS/ML in the process.Switched in 1 year to my current organisation. I also got an offer from a 5 year old startup with better CTC. But turned down the offer. I think I did the right thing. Here my work life balance is quite good. Not sure what it would have been in a startup. This is my pure personal experience.Edit:Why I chose JSF? When I first learnt I didnot know much about technologies in market. I knew JSF as it was in Infosys Training. So I started from jsf, realised its limitations and slowly moved to web services + ExtJS/AngularJSI do not have any links as such for DS ML. I started from text clustering algos available in python.I am not sure about freelancing work. I have tried but did not get anything. My job is not 100% on DS/ML but some 10–15% of my work involves this.I think shifting to UI is very easy.

What is the salary of a 1st/2nd year registered nurse?

I will complete my AAS degree next summer and will be able to take the exam to get my nursing license. My masters is my ultimate goal, but my question is in regards to wages. What is the average annual income for someone newly licensed? How much did you make during your first few years? If you are in dallas, which hospital? I would prefer if more recent wages were quoted, for example what you made as a first year nurse back in 1997 is obviously lower than what someone would make today. I just want to get a ballpark figure....i know that texas and cali have some of the highest incomes for rn's so help me out please! thanks!

also, please do not send me any links from websites, quoting incomes because they are inaccurate! i want to actually hear from A NURSE that makes NURSE MONEY, not wikipedia, salary wizard, or payscale.com. none of that please. lol

How much has your salary increased from your first job to today?

June 2014 : 5 lpaNov 2015 - Present : 13.5 lpaI completed my graduation from VIT University in Computer Science stream . When I joined the college, I never really thought of the salary or the company I want to join. All I knew at that time was that there was 100% placements at VIT. So I was happy and carefree for the first 2 years. But as soon as I reached my 3rd year, I became a little serious about this stuff and gradually became more aware of the companies and their packages that came for recruitment. Finally the 4th year started with a bang. There were companies like Flipkart, eBay which came in the 1st week itself and their packages were more than 10 lpa. I couldn't get selected in those companies. A couple of months passed by and even after making to the final of 2–3 companies , I couldn't get selected. By October the companies which were coming were paying 4–6 lpa.In the first week of October I got selected in a startup and the salary was 5 lpa with a joining bonus of 50K. I cannot even describe that feeling. Though the package was less than I had anticipated earlier, I was happy to finally get a job offer. So finally I joined in December 2013 for internship in the same company at 15 k per month. In June 2014, they converted me full time and I was drawing somewhere near 37 k.Then came the appraisal season. The condition of the company was really bleak and it was going thorough a resource crunch. When I asked my seniors in the company about the hike, I was shocked to know that last year there was no hike for any employee. When my manager called me in his office for appraisal discussion, I went in with little hopes. To my surprise he told me that my package has been increased to 8.3 lpa. That was unbelievable for me. Though I was pretty hard working and sincere in my work, I never expected this much of a hike. The primary reason for this hike was that already a lot of employees had left the company. So the company wanted to retain the remaining employees.Till then I was working as a Java developer. But I had interest in Android programming. So around August I started to look for a job in Android development. After spending 1 month for interview preparation and giving the interview of 4 companies, I had offer from 2 well funded start-ups. One of them was offering me 15 lpa and the other 13.5 lpa + 1 lac joining bonus. I decided to go with the latter after my assessment of both the companies.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) salary with a Bachelor's degree?

It really wont' make a difference...the way most HR departments are set up in health care is that they recognize your primary license and it's qualifications. In otherwords, a PTA is a PTA when comparing apples to apples. Experience and advanced certifications will get you a higher salary, but generally not the kinesiology degree. Even when I completed my doctorate in physical therapy (I had originally graduated with a BS), this had no effect on my salary (but I knew that would happen).

The only advantage it WILL have, is that if you DO want to go back to PT school, you'll have the qualifications without having to first go back and complete all the PT prerequisites. But I'd really only recommend this if you definitely plan on going back to PT school.

A good career that only takes 2 years of college

I guess it depends on what you want, with a general studies two year degree you could become a receptionist/secretary at a company. They will pay anywhere from $7.50-to $16. With a two year degree, your pay will probably remain under $20/hour.

You could got to a trade college like Apollo College and get a medical assistant degree, which also takes two years, that pays much better, and you get to work in a clean office environment. That consists mainly of secretary/receptionist work but in doctors offices.

I think its a great idea to go to trade school or community college, get a two year degree and work in an office somewhere while you think about what other things you would like to do with your life. It would be much better than working at some crappy fast food/retail job.

Also while you work at that job, you can continue to take classes at a state college and get your bachelors degree. Many people do that. Even if you stay a receptionist, I'm sure the odds of raises and promotions will be much better if you got a bachelor's degree in something.

The four year college degree is what a h.s. diploma was 50 years ago. Although you would have more options in the job market with a specialized degree (accounting, business, nursing, video game design, graphic design, etc.) than a liberal arts degree (philosophy, psychology, religion, english, women's studies, art history).

Employers will see that you went to college, got a degree and see that you got a basic education and stuck to something long enough to finish it. In many corporations that's what they want to see.

What can I do with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology (job outlook, salary, etc.)?

No master's in Clinical Psychology - PhD! You cannot get licensed as clinical psychologist with less than PhD )or PsyD). There are master's programs in counseling, e.g. marriage & family counseling. But they are all glut on the market, lots of positions are only part-time, and most grads end up having to cobble together two or more P-T jobs. Your degree in CJ is not relevant, so even if you could get accepted somewhere with a strong minor in psych, you likely won't be able to keep up with classmates who are far better prepared.

You really need to look at alternatives if you want to keep yourself in the Job Box despite US entering the Post-Jobs Era.

How much do I have to pay Accenture If I want to break their bond (2 yr) after 1 year of joining, for higher studies (MCA)?

I really wonder that Accenture asks employees to sign a 2 year bond I cannot say you the exact amount of how much you need to pay as there are several factors that are taken into account in order to calculate the amount that you are liable to pay when you break the bond.I would like to share my understanding, I have joined Accenture as a fresher in January 2014 and we have signed an agreement bond for 1 year and as we have joined the organization as a fresher so I need to go through the training called green field training, soft skills and personality development and skill related training as the most of the above mentioned trainings are not taken care by Accenture and they hire 3rd party trainers to take care of this.In Accenture there is a separate department called Learning and Knowledge Mangement which is an acronym for LKM. The LKM team is responsible for organizing these trainings as per the schedule and I got a chance to interact with them during breaks, as usual we spoke things related to training and the duration everything in a casual manner then I have raised a question regarding the amount that we need to break the bond firstly he said why is there any offer in your hand then I said just I want to know so he said that we need to pay 70k to Accenture as usual I cannot keep quiet then I started to bombard the questions like how the amount was fixed, what about the notice period, are they going to pay the full amount during notice and so on… then he answered the amount 70k is the training cost which Accenture spend on each employee. So when you break the bond during the training period which lasts for 2 months then you are liable to pay 70k and you are on probation for the whole year and if you want to break the bond after completion of 6 months then the HR team will calculate the amount for the remaining 6 months and it's not the total amount of 70k.Although I cannot give you the exact amount in figures it's your HR who can you give the details also you have served 1 year of service out of 2 years then I wouldn't think it would be a lump sum of amount. All the best!

What are some non-competitive degree/major options to help get you into a career with a decent salary?

I think you are selling yourself short. There are many, many degrees that you could easily get which will prepare you for jobs that pay even better than $30K. Basically, any major that teaches you a skill (beyond the basic liberal arts classes) that is in demand is going to pay well, from teachers (the LOWEST 10% make $26 - $31K; the average is over $40K) to chemical engineers (starting pay $60K right out of college!). Registered nurses are very much in demand and the lowest 10% earn $37,300. The highest 10% earn more than $74,760. The average building inspector earns $43,670. The pay for computer programmers ranges from $36K to $81K. The list goes on and on! All of these jobs are in demand and, thus, are not competitive.

You can start preparing for any of the above careers at your local community college and proceed from there. As I hope you can see, a college degree makes a huge difference in your earning potential. Look up any career that may interest you at the link, below.

P.S. None of the jobs I've mentioned require a Masters degree. You only need a Masters when you haven't been taught a skill to get your Bachelors. Some well-paying jobs (building trades, computer technology, etc) only require a 2-year degree.

Is it worth joining a 1 year PGPM course at the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai?

Whether its worth joining or not would depend on your current situation, CAT/XAT/GMAT score/other options you may have and most of all your ambition.Current Situation - If you are earning 3–6 lakhs right now, you can double, triple or quadruple your salary after one year of MBA as GL’s average CTC is 12.5 lpa approx. If you are earning 8 lpa+ with 2–3 years of work exp., then probably you can earn 12 lpa by a job switch also. In this case join only Top 15 institutes - IIM ABCLIK, ISB, MDI, FMS, IIT B, JBIMS, IIFT add or take a few. Join GL only if you dont have a call from Top 15/you really want to do an MBA/you want MBA gyaan.CAT/XAT - Min %ile should be 90. However as an alumni i know that average %ile is 94–954. Other options-(a) Top 15 is a no brainer - join them over GLIM PGPM. IIM ABCLKI, XLRI, FMS, SP Jain, ISB Hyd. IIFT, MDI, IIT Bombay, add or take a few.(b) If you are in IT and want to go back to IT - Join GLIM over slightly better XIMB, SIBM, SCMHRD, NMIMS, all IITs except B and M, 1–2 year old new IIMs with low avg. CTC (if you are not obsessed over IIM brand)(c) If you dont want to go to IT, you many choose any of the institutes in (b) over GL.(d) Choose GL over IMT G, XIMB (GL saves one year), GIM, Tapmi etc.(5) Ambition - If you like Marketing then choose IMT G Marketing over GL despite the fact that GL is probably better overall. If you like Rural Management - IRMA. Advertising - MICA. HR - XLRI, TISS over IIM A. Real ambition of what we want to do easily trumps over an institute with better brand value, CTC etc because of 2 things - (a) Ambition/Passion drives success and B School degree is not even needed if passion is strong enough. (b) B Schools only give an initial platform to accelerate career growth and the more experience you begin to carry the less relevant your B School becomes. People from IIT+IIM background do get fired and non-Ivy league folks are retained. There are so many examples of people succeeding despite no Ivy league background that no direct co-relation can be deduced. “You are likely to succeed with an Ivy league degree but you will definitely succeed if you have passion”
