If Christians Got Their Wish To Make America A Christian Nation How Many Decades Would They Be

If USA is a Christian nation why some people do not say "Merry Christmas" anymore?

Other answers have explained that the USA is not a Christian nation. Now I am going to really confuse you. Not all Christians celebrate Christmas. There are Christians who understand that Christmas is not actually a Christian holiday but a compilation of pagan winter solstice holidays that were turned into Christmas so they don’t celebrate it. Some Christians understand that but celebrate it anyway. Some truly believe that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. My point is that even within the Christian community, there is variation. That doesn't include the variation outside of the Christian community. Some people who aren't Christian celebrate Christmas as an American holiday and some don’t.Businesses understand that their customers are varied so they tend to choose “Happy Holidays” or “Season’s Greetings” which will include more people so they get more customers. Many people have a variety of friends so they either tailor their greetings to their individual friends or they use one of the says above so that they don’t have to remember everyone’s particular beliefs and rituals.I really don’t get why people care about this. Someone is saying something nice to you. Why do you care if it is “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays”?It seems like a pretend, artificially invented thing to be mad about. Maybe the people worried about this need to create a safe space for themselves where they only hear “Merry Christmas”. Then they will feel better.

If the Islam race were to threaten and overpower Christians and Christianity - would you become ONE and fight?

I don't think it's a matter of pride. Unto death , I would not deny the Christ. As it is written Many will be given a chance to deny the Christ and live, but the Saints of God would be beheaded.

Think. Who cuts heads these days? Being under the blood of Christ is personal. My parents both went to church. My mothers Father was a pastor. In my heart I know that neither of my parents were saved.
My parents didn't really play a role in my finding Jesus.
Going to Church does not make a Christian. It's becoming a new creature. Repentance to conversion. Where astrological signs no longer pertain to you. If you feel there are works needed to get into heaven or because you belong to a church, or if you are uncertain of your salvation. You are not under the blood. When you receive the Christ and his sacrifice and recognize that there is no law can you follow , no deed you can do, to get into heaven. You stand alone before the Judge of the universe. If the Christ is your savior and Lord , He will stand in your place.

Why so called Christian nation leagalise homosexuality even if it is a terrible thing according to Bible? Do they still recognize themselves as Christian nation?

A2A Living in Canada I no longer consider this a Christian nation. Most of the people swear, lie, steal, take God's name in vain, and have lower morals than in past decades, it has been going down hill for a long time now. The movies I like watching are 40 or more years old now. I can watch them without hearing a bunch of swear words. In the name of political correctness sin is now glorified in our streets, in commercials, etc. The greatest holocaust we have ever known quietly goes on in abortion clinics sanctioned by our government. The average person may still think of this nation as Christian, but those who are born again as described in John ch.3 will not think so.Just have a close look at who they have to choose from to lead the nation and what those in power believe, that shows you where we are heading. Most people in Canada have rejected God, just as stated in Isaiah 1:4.

What will it take to finally defeat Christianity as a political force in America?

Ask Hitler. He did it in Germany - although after he died it rebounded, and now we have the Christian Democratic Union in charge there. You can also ask Lenin/Stalin, who also did a great job removing the influence of Christianity from his nations politics. Although, again, after the dissolution it came back. Pesky religion that, Christianity.Oh, you could ask the Chinese! They had a bout of religious weirdness in the 19th century influencing politics (a very common occurrence in Chinese history, although it was usually weird Buddhist cults gaining large militant followings, not a weird quasi-christian cult like they had in the 19th century). They did a great job keeping Christianity out of politics for a good century! Although it might slowly make a comeback. Christians account for somewhere between 5% and 12% of the Chinese populace and growing - depending on how accurate estimates of house churches are. They might start affecting politics in the next few decades. If you want to weaken the grip of the religious right on the US government, that’s a different problem. Generally, it would be hard, as politicians appeal to voters. Voters, in turn, should vote based on their desires and consciences (although often they just vote based on their ‘tribe’).So your options are really, disenfranchise Christians, or remove any incentive from politicians to appeal to their voters. Or you could - instead of disenfranchising - forcibly convert all the Christians to whatever philosophy floats your boat?

What does it mean when Americans say the US is and should be a Christian nation? Do they want to replace the Vatican or something?

“This is a Christian Nation”Yeah, I’ve been wondering about that too. Those who espouse this claim have a number of different answers. Some claim that it’s just a matter of identity, a matter of acknowledging that the Founding Fathers were Christian, which is partly true, many were Deists as well, or were only nominally Christian, since it was pretty much mandatory at the time if one did not want to be ostracized from society. So I asked this on a number of forums, the old MSNBC blog, the CNN Religion Blog, I think possibly Yahoo Answers, YouTube, etc. I asked it in a number of different ways, mainly “What does it mean to say we are a ‘Christian Nation’?” Or, “if we say okay, so we’re a Christian Nation, then what necessarily follows from that?” What happens next.It took some work to draw people out, but you’ll never guess the first answer I got, regarding what must change if we’re a “Christian Nation”.Pornography must be outlawed. Not what I expected. Then other things—all sex related, abortion of course, and other sex-related issues. “Sorry—you’re daughters are not allowed to be whores” one of them said. Also, many expected that Christianity must be favored and receive preferential treatment as a matter of public policy, and that Christian doctrines, specifically the American right-wing version of Christianity, should be legislated. This all came out with some back-and-forth from several different people—all anonymous of course, over a period of time, several years ago.Given this, and the context of other right-wing demagogues and politicians and the context with which they say it, I’ve come to the firm conclusion that “We are a Christian Nation” is code for politicizing and enacting as policy a right-wing Christian agenda, and one that is not necessarily constitutional.

Christians, why the double standards?

Gee, it sounds like you are not a happy camper. Normally I tell people to accept that each of the Three Mainstream religions are going to do whatever they want because they are the Trinity!

Basically these religion will continue to do what they want and practice a double standard until enough people say, "hey wait a minute!" Their members are religious soldiers who fight for their souls daily and they have been brainwashed that this is important. You are fighting against people who don't want to learn "truth" unless it is their religion's truth. You are asking these people to take a leap of faith that you are right and their religion (which they have known longer) wrong. And if they make the wrong choice, they are condemning themselves to hell!

I'm a Pagan Witch who just happens to be gay and I love shrimp. I was raised Pagan and I learned my Witchcraft from my family and believe me when I tell you we are nothing like any of the modern stereotypes and we are also not the Witches of the Bible. We are mostly rural people who see that the earth is a precious resource that must be managed by people who care if the planet is inhabitable for the next generations. Our spells and prayers are highly ritualized positive reinforcements of what we want and need and we won't harm anyone unless they present harm to us.

We have won a few battles with the Mainstream religions, but these are minor. We just got finished fighting the VA to adopt the Pentacle as the symbol of faith for Pagan and Wiccan soldiers who loose their lives in defense of their Country. This has been a nine years battle that when we finally took the VA to court, they settled without a fight since they were legally wrong and they didn't want the bad publicity. So if you haven't heard anything about this you can thank the Trinity!

Good luck.

My website has more info about the VA nonsense!
