If I Get Another Dog Should I Get A Male Or Female

Should I get a male or female Shih Tzu puppy?

I have 6 Shih Tzu pups. 2 are males and 4 are females. There is no real difference in the personality of the sexes, it is the personality of the individual dog.

You are looking for certain characteristics in the puppy, so just tell the breeder. If you are dealing with a reputable breeder, they will be able to help match you with the perfect puppy for you. And since you will probably have to sign a spay/neuter contract for the puppy, the sex of the puppy really won't matter.

Should i get a male or female dog?

One of the cons is that it's a bit harder to deal with them while they're not spayed. I personally have not had a hassle with it, since my two dogs are spayed, but we couldn't get our one into the vet before she had her first, ah, 'monthly cycle', so we had to wrap her up in a towel diaper XD but like I said, this shouldn't be a problem if you're getting them spayed or get them from the pound

Another con is that sometimes they can get protective of their stuffed toys, especially ones that look like little puppies, because of their mother instinct. Our dog, Chloé, has this monkey that she carries around and snuggles up with it. This is just adorable, trust me; however, you have to be careful they don't get protective to the point of growling or snapping at people. But I'm sure you. having owned a boy dog in the past, are quite familiar with protectiveness and other macho stuff males do XD

Pros: okay, their are a lot of them, in my opinion. One, they're less aggressive on the whole. This is because they don't have the male testosterone in their system. And they also don't get as territorial, because of the reason I mentioned before. They don't have as strong an instinct to PEE EVERYWHERE, which is nice. They get along well with both males and other females, while I've noticed that males get along a lot better with females than males, because they think males are invading their territory.

Since you are a woman, and have a male dog, I think you will notice a lot less of that protectiveness, because a male dog probably thought of you as 'his'. A female will treat you as more of a sister or a mother :)

They also give you lots of cuddles and are always there to eat any excess peanut butter and wear any extra frilly pink fabric you have XD

Oh, and walking into the Collar/Leash isle for the first time with a female dog to buy for. It's like singing "A WHOLLLLEE NEWWW WORRLLDD!!", because they have sparkly things and pretty designs and beautiful colors.

Trust me, girls are like getting a new sister, best friend, and daughter, all at once ^-^

Should I get a female or a male dog?

Now that you have decided to ‘adopt’ a fur ball, Congratulations! I honestly feel male or female dogs are amazing. Whether you should get a male or female puppy depends on your preference. These are my observations about male and female dogs:Male:They tend to get aggressive when their testasterones are high. This is very true in case of alpha males. They are bit dependent on their pack aka you and like to be in the same room as you.I haven't noticed mood swings or unpredictable emotional response in male dogs at all. They are often stable and seldom behave differently.I don't know how to explain it but male dogs are pretty straightforward or let's just say they keep it simple.Males are biggest goof balls really. Finally breed is another deciding factor like in Labradors I find males are much calmer but when it comes to strays males are damn aggressive or bold.Females:The most prominent behaviour that you may notice in female dogs is that they are fiercely independent even in their thoughts!Mood swings are more noticeable in them. They are not that simple to understand! It's beautiful to see how creative they are really! You feel she needs you to pet her but it's not the only thing on her mind she will make you give her treats as well. Most of the female dogs that I have had, had this amazing mothering instincts and bonded well with other small animals or dogs in the household. So male and female dogs do have different temperament. But they love their pack unconditionally. All the best!

Can a male dog that's neutered get a female pregnant?

No because they physically take out the reproductive organs so that's not possible and if a pregnant dog was supposed to be fixed they obviously didn't remove the organs correctly and if you the male dog and it got the female pregnant and you were the one that was supposed to be fixed not the female then obviously they did a shitty job fixing the male dog and if they were both supposed to be fixed and got pregnant from each other then whoever did both of them should be fired so I will again say no they cannot get each other pregnant because the reproductive organs are removed when they are fixed

Can a female dog get pregnant by two different males?

Yes. Years ago, near where I lived - a breeding was going on of Walker Hounds, beautiful dogs. Anyway, one was born, looking like a Doberman. That dog immediately went to the local pound. Someone adopted him and he was passed along until he was mine. Everyone knew the dog, he was famous because people just couldn’t keep a secret about the litter. He was my doggie for 19 years. One day he was crying at the door. I opened the door and he stood there like.. he wanted me to come with him. I sat on the step with him barefoot and we prayed together. He would bow his head when I prayed. When I was done, reciting the 23rd Psalm, I asked him if he would like to walk together. We knew that he had lung cancer. As I turned to grab my shoes, he took off like a bolt. I never saw him again, I think he was leaving to go die alone. I don’t think he wanted me or my children to see him die.Four years later, I was in the same house, and I was running the vacuum in the living room. My four year old, pre-K daughter screamed - don’t run over the big doggie, Mom! I looked at her. And I asked, what does the doggie look like. She said he’s black and tan. No one had ever told her, that his favorite spot was in front of the fire place at night, and that’s where I was working. I believe he stayed with our family for a very long time. I still miss him very much.

Can a female dog get another dog pregnant?

It's not possible. Female dogs needs their eggs to be firtile. She must have been with another

Can female dogs that are sprayed have sex?

Females send scent signals to attract male dogs when they come into "heat". If a female dog is not in heat, she has not interest in a male for the purpose of mating. When a female dog is spayed, parts of her body that sends her into heat are removed as well as parts that impregnate her. She won't come into heat anymore, and therefore won't send off signals that will attract males. Males won't seek her out that way.

Male dogs have sex for the purpose of creating puppies. Not to have a good time. If a dog is not in heat and ready to conceive a litter, the male will have no interest in her for sexual purposes. You are thinking of your dogs too human-like. Just get your dog fixed, don't worry about the good time stuff. He doesn't think that way.

And mounting and humping is about dominance, not about horniness.

Can a dog with one testicle breed female and male puppies?

No 8 month old is "ready" for mating. Able, yes, ready, no. Females should be 2 years old before mating. There is the first reason she should not be mated.

Other reasons:They should not be bred at all until they have been shown and proved to be up to breed standard. They should not be bred at all until they have had all their genetic testing done to make sure they are not passing on health problems common for the breed. They should not be bred at all until you have a breed mentor and have done enough breeding research that you don't have to ask on here something as basic as how old does she have to be. They should not be bred at all until you have enough money in reserve just for vet care for her and the pups and for an emergency c-section in case something goes wrong. They should not be bred at all. Spay and neuter, there are many health benefits. Spay and neuter, you will not contribute to the gross pet over population because of over breeding. Spay and neuter, you will not contribute to the millions of dogs that are killed each year because of too many dogs, not enough homes.

Can a dog with one testicle get another female dog pregnant?

He doesn't have one testicle, he has two, but one never dropped. Yes he can get a bit** pregnant, but he shouldn't, because this condition is hereditary, and he needs to be neutered himself for health reasons. Undescended testicles can become cancerous.
