If I Get Emancipated At 15 Or 16 Can I Move In With My 20 Year Old Boyfriend

Can i get emancipated at age 15 and live with my 18 year old boyfriend?

No.

First, even if you were otherwise qualified (and you are not - in VA you must be 16, and have a steady job that can support you with no help from anyone else.), being pregnant at 15 would make you utterly unsuited for emancipation. No judge is going to rule that you are ready for adult responsibilities when you were not even responsible enough to keep from getting pregnant.

Second, even if you were emancipated, you could still not live with your boyfriend. The age of consent in VA is 18, and emancipation does NOT change that. While a 'close in age' exception makes it legal for a person aged 15 - 17 to have sex with a person UNDER 18, your boyfriend is already 18, so he has committed statutory rape, and no judge would allow you to ive with your rapist after he gets out of jail.

Do I need my parent's permission to move in with my boyfriend?

I think you should move in with your boyfriend as you are pregnant and like someone else said the baby will need both parents not just you and if your mum tried to stop him coming when you was pregnant what will she do when the baby's here?
You have got your dads permission and you could also tell your mum that your dad thinks its fine when telling her.
Also, from reading what you wrote about what your mums like maybe its best for you and the baby to move in with your boyfriend if you can be happier.
Its not good to be upset when pregnant either It can affect the baby.
I hope I have helped you and I hope you work something out :)

I’m 16 years old, and my boyfriend is 17. We have four-month-old triplets and have been living together now for three years. We get along very well, but I don’t think we should get married yet. What do you think?

If you’re still very young and are together, raising triplets, why wouldn’t you want to get married? It was common, in the 1920s, for couples to be very young (my Nana was 16 years old when she gave birth to my mother) and married. What’s stopping you? If you loved your boyfriend enough to stay with him for three years and have his babies, you must love him enough to be married to him. Right now he’s getting all the benefits of marriage, but if something happens to him on the job, or an accident disables or kills him, what are you going to do without him? If for no other reason, you ought to be married for the sake of your babies because, assuming you’re living in the United States, you would get his death benefits that will help you financially if something dreadful like that happens. There’s a lot of things to consider, but that’s the one that sticks out in my mind the most because my mother was faced to raise four adopted children by herself after my dad died from injuries sustained on the job while he was a fireman. Without his death benefits, we would have lost our beautiful home and my mother would have had to work full time to support all of us. It would have been a very different life for us, I’m sure you can imagine, had they not actually been married at the time of his death.

If a 16 year old female gets emancipated and decides to date a 24 year old male, is it still illegal?

Great question!Emancipation only affects your minor status when it comes to parental supervision requirements. Your parents are responsible for your well-being until you turn 18. Emancipated minors can sign documents on their own behalf and can make decisions on their own behalf without needing a parent or guardian. However, other “age-restricted” functions of the state still remain: the drinking age, the driving age, the age of consent, etc. Emancipation pertains to anything which might require a parent or guardian’s signature, such as entering into a rental agreement for an apartment, getting a job, etc. It also alleviates the parents of responsibility for your actions. Finally, you can date anyone you like. You just can’t have sex with them. That’s illegal. Even states with “close-in-age” clauses to their statutory rape laws require you to be within only a few years. An 8-year difference is probably too much. Check your state’s statutory rape laws to be sure.

If I’m 16, can I move in with my 18 year old sister?

As long as your parents don’t object, sure. The logistics can get tricky though-If you are moving in with your sister over your parents objections, that technically makes you a runaway, and CPS can force you back home if you parents choose to call them. It’s more likely if you are moving out because of conflict, that they won’t call the police, but they won’t help you either. But they will remain your legal guardian so: you would still need their signature to go on a field trip, apply for a driver’s license ect. If you get in trouble at school or have a run in with the police, a parent would have to appear in court. Your sister can’t do this for you. Now, if you are moving in with your sister because of a simple logistical issue, and you’re are all on the same page with no drama, then your parents should still be available to be your legal guardian and do the things. Or, if there is a distance issue, they could appoint your sister as a co-legal guardian, which would allow her to sign things and make decisions. If you are leaving home because your family is abusive, you could petition the court to become an emanipated minor, or for your sister to become your sole legal guardian. But this can be expensive, tricky, and you could run the risk of a judge deciding that your sister isn’t up to the challenge, which could result in your being put in the foster system.

Can a 16 year old move out of their parents house?

I am 15 right now and so is my boyfriend and we are talking about moving out when we are 16. My boyfriend mom said if he wants he could move out when he's sixteen. My mom said maybe. My friends said we could move in with her so we could have stuff because you know how you can't put stuff in your name when your 16. I just want to know if you can move out of you parents house at 16 even if my parents say no.

Im 14 and want to get emancipated. How can I prepare myself for the day I turn 16?

I live in Washington and he says he loves me and will wait till I'm 18. He lives on a christmas tree farm, was raised in a hard working christian family and he really does love me. I know that sounds stupid but you're right. why would 20 yr old date me for 6 months with no sex if he didnt love me. I wish you could meet him and youd understand... hes genuine and sweet. no manipulating. i would know because my father is a psycologist and trys to **** with my mind constantly. thats another reason I'm leaving. I might end up living in an apartment because I'm shy to ask his dad for help even though hes a very good friend of mine and they have me over for dinner like last night! Its exhausting to have people criticize me for loving someone so much older but thats the thing... I really do love him. I would do anything for him and I know hed do the same for me. He's full of morals and was literally in shock when he realized he had to have me for himself and protect me from my father...
