It also depends on whether you advance a grade level each school year (like in not failing a grade). It also depends on the laws of your school district. In some districts if a student’s birthday falls after the school year begins, them have to wait until the following year as they are not yet at the required age. In my district the age was 6, but I didn’t turn 6 until November, so when I started 1st. grade I was just about two months from turning 7.

i agree with damir. i think you should drop out. maybe try and get your ged but if your going to treat the classes you take to get your ged ( and you will have to take classes in order for you to pass that test) like HOWEVER you treated you classes in high school classes don't bother. really failing the 9th grade that many times makes no sense to me. if you really want to get your ged, please try your best and don't bull sh**. your just cheating your self, waisting money, and making yourself look bad. much luck to you

Hey reshma! I am in 12th standard myself and want to become an astrophysicist. Basically you need to know that ISRO is not taking any manned missions in the near future I.e they are not planning to do so. And even if it does plans the first astronauts would be the pilots and people from air force. So you should probably look out for aur force and surely it is not a good option as there is no surity for you to become astronaut. The better option is you go out to study in the foriegn andtry it there. If it is out of budget then you can try get scholarship and or apply for Master's degree after doing undergraduate from here in India. You can pick up any btech or Bsc degree and then apply for foriegn university for Master's. Then you may apply to the associations that hire and make you Into astronauts. There are many such organizations in USA.
Can I go back to grade 7 again even if I'm 18 years old?
If you never completed seventh grade then yes you can. You generally start out where you left off unless the school allows you to try and test out of it.
