If I Hate Politicians So Much Why Do I Want To Become One

Why do politicians hate us?

This question is naivety masquerading as cynicism.Of course politicians don't hate the people who elect them. Most are just normal people trying to do what they believe is best for thier area and thier country. Some are corrupt, of course they are but most are not. Don't believe the lazy rhetoric of cynics who don't put thier money where thier mouth is.I have a friend who is a local councillor. He's young and hard working. He just wants what is best for the people of the area he lives in. My two local councillors, while I disagree with thier politics, I believe they are both doing what they consider thier best. My local MP, again, I disagree with the party he is part of but he is a decent person. He didn't come from my area but he has certainly adopted it and seems proud to represent us.What I would say to you is that if you dislike what you see in politicians then become one. If you think your representative is corrupt take thier place and don't be corrupt. Do something about it.

Why does no one want to become a politician?

I think the question is not correct as far as India is concerned. There are too many people wanting to join politics because of the obsession of Indian media and people with politicians. They love to hate them. In reality, Many top IAS, IPS, IRS officers are joining politicsIITians too are entering in politics in increasing numbersMany top Army officers including Generals are joining politicsMany top businessmen are triying their luck in politicsA large number of film-stars and sportsmen have joined politics Many top religious leaders are in politics and have become even ministersI think you should ask the question: “Why so many people want to become politician?”You are perhaps troubled that right people are not joining politics.  By right people, you perhaps mean higher qualification i.e. the educated people are not joining politics. This is also wrong since more than 80% of MPs are Graduate, PGs of PhDs. The real problem is that our politicians are not able to fulfill their promises. This is not the fault of MPs/MLAs. It is the people who have elected them based on caste, religion, parties or even legal/illegal gratifications given to them during election and promised after it and NOT ON THE BASIS OF THEIR MERIT, HONESTY AND COMPETENCY. What can you do about it? People are the rulers in a democratic country. They are never at fault. We always blame the representatives they select but highly praise their intelligence for selecting them.

Why do some people hate politics?

William Shirer in his book The Berlin Diaries explained it best. And now they have turned to the extremes of tyranny because democracy and liberalism forced them to live as individuals, to think and make decisions as free men, and in the chaos of the twentieth century this was too much of a strain for them. Almost joyfully, almost masochistically, they have turned to an authoritarianism which releases them from the strain of individual choice and thought and allows them what to a German is a luxury - letting someone else make the decisions and take the risks, in return for which they gladly give their own obedience. The average German craves security. He likes to live in a groove. And he will give up his independence and freedom — at least at this stage of his development — if his rulers provide this. The German has two characters. As an individual he will give his rationed bread to feed the squirrels in the Tiergarten on a Sunday morning. He can be a kind and considerate person. But as a unit in the Germanic mass he can persecute Jews, torture and murder his fellow men in a concentration camp, massacre women and children by bombing and bombardment, overrun without the slightest justification the lands of other peoples, cut them down if they protest, and enslave them.

If liberals hate America so much, why don't they move to a communist country like France or Russia?

you'd fit in in Russia because they don't tolerate people with different opinions. Liberals don't hate America, they are just tired of the Bush league.

If people hate politicians, why is Trump criticized for not acting like politician?

It’s similar to the trope that most people hate lawyers, but most also wouldn’t show up in court to answer a major lawsuit without one.Case in point, the stereotypical politician is a two-faced, lying baby-kisser who’ll say exactly what the crowd in front of him wants to hear. Trump does away with the two faces and the baby kissing and gets right down to brass tacks, telling the crowd in front of him exactly what they want to hear (and according to PolitiFact he’s way ahead of the curve on lying). In addition, what the crowd in front of him apparently wants to hear is about as politically incorrect as we’ve heard since the ‘60s. Politicians make a career on not alienating anyone that they don’t absolutely have to; a very hardcore 5% of the general electorate that likes the real you won’t get you a seat in Congress, while 51% of the electorate that likes your public image will. Trump once again dispenses with the facade and speaks his mind on immigration, women’s rights, and other topics that most other politicians approach with a little tact.Pundits see Trump’s behavior and compare him to other political figures like Rob Ford, Sarah Palin and others who have seen promising careers evaporate in days or weeks after major gaffes come to light. They assume that Trump will eventually cross one line too far and watch his entire base of support crumble underneath him.The problem for pundits is that Trump’s rough off-the-cuff style works, at least for Trump’s base of disenfranchised blue-collar workers. He’s proven he really can’t say anything wrong in front of a home crowd, as long as he’s dumping on minorities, women, immigrants, all other liberals, and the Washington establishment. The Mayberry vision of America in the 1950s, as a leader on the world economic and military stage, domestically prosperous, orderly and safe especially for a burgeoning white middle class, is a very seductive dream for lower and middle-class whites forming the foundation of an increasingly non-diverse Republican Party, and that’s exactly what Trump is promising. The difference between Trump and pretty much every Republican who’s advocated for returning America to those same glory days is that Trump isn’t bothering to pay lip service to the idea that this time around it’ll be more diverse and inclusive.

Do you hate people who talk too much about politics?

I’ve been hear for many years and every question that I’ve read which starts “do you hate” I would answer with No.Hate is a strong world.Do I like talking about politics? Meh, it’s almost as boring as the weather. Do I hate talking about the weather? Meh, it’s something we sometimes need to use to get the ball rolling.Besides, usually we are able to get away from people or topics that irritate us way before we hate them. If you don’t then you might love to hate. Similar to web comment, it’s like if you think I’m a morron wouldn’t it have been easier to skip commenting then to let me know how much you hate my avatar?Don’t confuse every feeling as “hate” is what I’m saying

Why do people get so emotional about politics?

It seems the best way to get smart about politics is to discuss the actual issues, educate yourself, and be pragmatic by listening to all opinions of an issue -- also, to not get too locked into one viewpoint, since eventually you might stumble upon information that changes your view. Basically, it's better to keep an open mind than get all emotional about politics.

It seems that people on Y!A are constantly bickering but never really saying anything, just because they get so emotional about their views. Why don't they discuss the actual issues? Please give me your take.
