If I Have A Tooth That Needs To Be Filled Next To My Wisdom Tooth Will That Make The Wisdom Tooth

Wisdom Teeth Removal + Cavities Filled?

I have never taken great care of my teeth and now I'm rightfully paying the price. I have acquired a few very deep cavities that need to be filled, including two "cracked" teeth that need to be fixed. To top it off, all of my wisdom teeth have been starting to poke through and it feels like the bottom two are going to be impacted. I plan on just getting put under for the wisdom teeth removal regardless. My question is, would they be willing to take care of everything while I am out? Thanks in advance.

How long does it take for the hole of an extracted wisdom tooth to close.?

The hole should be pretty much closed in a couple weeks. (I think mine took about two or three.) By that time, the holes will probably be filled but still be kinda squishy. It'll take a few more weeks for them to become hard like the rest of your gums.

Just be careful around the holes. Make sure they stay clean (rinse with salt water) or they'll get infected. Don't play with them either. Like, don't poke them with your tongue to see if they're still there. And don't attack them with a toothbrush. Prodding and poking and rubbing will just take the holes longer to fill.

Bear in mind, however, that big holes can be a side effect of getting wisdom teeth removed. Like, I mean ones that last quite a while. That's what one of my oral surgeons said anyway. So, if the holes are still there and it's been many weeks or a couple months or so, then you may want to go back to your oral surgeon and mention it. As far as I know, he or she can probably fix it.

How will my wisdom tooth hole close up if I keep getting food stuck in it?

It's been 8 weeks and the hole is still very deep. I am still getting loads of food debris in it and I am forced to pick it out with those floss pickers because it won't come out with a water syringe (that's how packed the food gets). Should I let the food pile up and risk getting another infection or continue trying to get the food out? The only thing I am worried about is that the whole won't close up if I continue to do this.

Root canal and wisdom teeth pulled at the same time?

The other day, the dentist filled a tooth that's close to my upper right wisdom tooth. He said it probably needs a root canal, but that he put some medicine in there before he filled it in hopes of "saving" the tooth and avoiding a root canal. two days later I am experiencing increasing sensitivity in that tooth and am fairly certain a root canal is imminent. I am having all of my wisdom teeth pulled (they should all be simple extractions) this thursday and was wondering if I can just have the root canal done at the same time. Is it that even the same doctor that would be doing both procedures? If they can't be done at the same time, how soon after the wisdom teeth extraction can I have the root canal done? I'm moving at the end of August and would rather have all this garbage taken care of before I move! Also, the pain from the root canal tooth is just going to get worse so I want it done asap!

If I get molars removed will my wisdom teeth come in?

The eruption of wisdom tooth is independent of any carious tooth in your oral cavity. However, age plays an important role. The usual age of eruption of third molars aka wisdom tooth is between 17 to 19 years but it varies from individual to individual. It can even erupt in your early twenties and it may not even erupt.Getting your cavities treated either with filling, root canal treatment or extraction is certainly not going to affect your wisdom tooth but it will definitely affect your function. So as a genuine advice, get your affected teeth sorted and enjoy!

How can I protect my wisdom tooth filling for a long time?

Just like what you do to protect filling of other teeth. Alwasy keep good day-to-day oral hygiene, including brushing twice, flossing once a day and rinsing mouth after every meal. Schedule regular dental check-up and cleanings, generally once or twice a year, to early detect potential problems and get them fixed in time.Seriously, do you really get your wisdom tooth filled? I think that’s quite rare. Because of the hard-to-reach positions and wakward eruptions, wisdom teeth are more susceptible to dental problems like caries or pericoronitis. Once there’s something wrong with them, the most common solution is to take them out.
