Why am I underweight if all I eat is junk?

There are many various possible reasons. However without knowing you, and from a completely unbiased outlook, I would guess you can thank genetics and a good metabolism. Embrace the gift God has obviously blessed you with. Perhaps consider starting to eat healthier as time may catch up to you and even if you don't gain weight, you could be doing intense harm to your insides over time that you don't see. Health and well-being cannot truly be improved if all you are eating is junk food.

I'm underweight and I hate eating. How do I make myself eat a lot?

Activity.. I mean even if you are not a “sportive” kind of person: you have to increase your phisical activities, that would make your body "to need" and actually "to ask" for more food in a natural way, instead of trying to push or force it; so try to find your own phisical activities that encourage yourself to want more and more, some sports, gym, martial arts, dance, hiking, Whatever..I had a friend with a similar problem, she had a beautifull body and pretty face but I dont know why she had a badly managed low self esteem so, I was always trying to feed her, and even with hers parents worried bout her healt status, we were forcing her to eat something healthy… never works, and I mean not at all.So thanks God for the miracle of the “zumba” gym style, and whatever else she likes about the training sessions at gym; that makes her happy, feeling better and …eat a lot more, and in a healthy, and very disciplined way, actually rise her self esteem a lot, and she looks Gorgeous now. so.. cheer up!

Underweight more attractive????????

I understand. I'm underweight for my height, but I still "feel" fat... I don't look fat, and I doubt you do. If you still feel fat, try building lean muscle and/or aerobics. How are you losing weight? If it's just by not letting yourself eat enough, that way unhealthy. Basically, the weight scale was designed by some person that decided what average is (probably an insurance company). You have to FEEL healthy. Society has put such a strain on weight and what size pants you wear. Wear what feels right, eat healthy, and exercise on a routine basis (don't be stupid about it) and you'll feel great. I like Yoga and running... they both help you build a nice, lean, muscular frame, but also help you look healthy... not like a starving model. Once your bones start showing, eat some Mcdonalds... seriously.

What should a person eat if they are underweight?

Anything with crisco and peanut butter lmao.Okay but seriously DO NOT listen to people who say you only need to eat 2,000 calories or less to gain weight. This will not help a starving person or someone with anorexia.They won’t be able to eat large meals without literally dying, so give them VERY tiny meals that are very HIGH CALORIE. I.E. straight up fatty as can be peanut butter, ground turkey with CRISCO on it, FATTY salmon steaks, white rice with butter, mashed potatoes with garlic and did I say BUTTER.They WILL STILL BARELY weigh anything, but eating like this will keep them from dying. Do not feed them too much, their stomachs can’t handle it. Do not give them high fiber or whole wheat foods chances are their stomachs are so ruined they will just shit themselves.Kids don’t starve yourselves, it messes up your ability to poop and eat wheat.

I want to be underweight.?

HI! Im 15 and weigh 7stone 12
(approx 50 kgs/116llbs I think) and I'm 5 foot 6 1/2inches, and my waist is approx 23/24 inches.. when I look at myself I cant stop thinking about how I want to be thinner.. I eat breakfast in the morning (cereal) but I dont eat lunch.

I try not to have dinner, but my mum says I should, so Im usually forced to eat a sandwich.

Everytime I eat I feel stupid, which doesnt help with my friends all saying stuff to my BFF whos larger than me, that shes stick thin.
I dont know why but I want to see my bones ..

My friends all say Im being stupid and silly, and that Im already thin, but.. I just dont feel happy about ANY PART of my body :S

What should I do?

I am 19, I eat a lot, but I am still underweight. I know that my body build affects my personality. What are a few practical and practicable ways to gain some weight? I smoke, if that matters.

I hope that you are going to gym or at least doing some exercises. Your body needs exercise. Try eating more proteins, I won't suggest you artificial proteins. You can eat soaked (Soak the beans a night before and eat after 12-14 hours, if you are exercising in the morning) moth beans, soya beans, groundnuts, eggs (boiled of course), your mom may suggest you some more. Start with few grams and later you can increase the amount.Whenever you are doing exercise, it may be easier for you as compared to others. It is because of your less weight. But don't do fast exercises. Your exercise should be slower, even while doing push-ups ,slowly go down and slowly come up, don't haste. Avoid more cardio exercises. During workout remember, "I have to gain weight, not muscle cuts yet."Hope this helps. It helped me, +6kg in 6 months (It is hard for skinny people to gain weight, especially when you are not at home enjoying mom's cooked meal) slow and steady.

5'9 115 pounds, am I really underweight and how can I fix it?

Whether a person is under or overweight depends on many factors, not just height/weight ratio. There is the weight of internal organs, muscle, etc. Every person is different and things like the body mass index and similar are only guidelines. Speak to your physician next time you're in for a checkup. If you are healthy and fit, weight is mainly a number! Speak with your doctor when you have the opportunity. Eat well, concentrate on vegetables and fruits, and get a moderate amount of exercise. Health is more about wellness than weight.

Should I stop exercising if I am underweight?

No, I do not believe you should stop exercising. Of course, consult your doctor if you are really unsure. But here is what I think: You need to be doing the right kind of exercising. That is, you should be doing weightlifting/strength training. The reason is that lifting weights will actually help you gain weight. You will be gaining good weight in the form of muscle and also will be getting stronger. On the other hand, I do not think that you should be doing any cardio. This is how most recommend you really gain muscle and strength fast. Cut out the cardio and focus on weights.You do not need to go crazy; just start going the gym about 3 days a week or so and work on getting stronger at basic compound lifts like bench press, squats, and deadlifts. Just do one of these lifts per day with some accessory work like lat pulldowns, calf exercises, bicep curls etc. Most importantly, eat well. Eat 3 solid meals a day to ensure you are getting enough calories. Only then will you actually gain weight.Just remember, the right kind of exercising will actually help you gain the weight you need.Best wishes

I am 30 pounds underweight. What do I do?

I eat 800-1,200 calories a day and I hardly like eating so I don't want to eat anymore. My psychologist said I have to drink Ensure Plus 3 times a day. When I gain weight and stop drinking Ensure, I'm assuming I'll just lose all the weight. What am I supposed to do then to maintain a higher weight? I don't like exercising much but I walk briskly to class (at least 30 minutes a day and I'm taking a pilates course next semester to get more exercise). I'm 19 years old, 107 pounds without clothes, and 5' 8". Is the only way to gain weight to eat more or gain muscle through working out?
