If I Live In Nj And Work In Pa Does Minimum Wage Change

How much does an Uber driver make in New Jersey?

I was curious about driving for Uber having been a passenger many times. They were doing a promotion with Enterprise where you effectively rent a car from Enterprise at a special Uber arranged rate and then you use that car to drive for Uber. The cool thing was that if you do 75 trips in one week, you would be reimbursed the rental fee for the week (about $250).This sounded good to me and I figured I would give it a try. The experience was enjoyable overall but in regard to making money it was pretty dismal. The main issue was that hitting 75 trips was exceedingly difficult. I had in my head that I would simply go over to NYC and easily hit the quota with a bunch of short trips in Manhattan. Not possible. Uber will let you drive to NY but NOT pick up an new customers there. That means you need to return to NJ before you get your next ride. This put a serious limit on what I could do.Compounding this issue, you don’t know where you are heading until the person gets in your car. I had one trip to upstate NY that took over 2 hours for me to make it back and a few to central LI plus some JFK airport trips. These consume a LOT of time, especially when there is traffic. In the end, I did a total of 35 trips over the course of 4 days working some pretty long hours. When you add in fuel and the cost of the car rental I pretty much broke even in regard to money (It worked out to something far below minimum wage on an hourly rate). Could I have hit 75 trips? Maybe. I didn’t want to work a 7 day week though. NJ pays at a lower rate than NY as well I believe.Using a rental was ok but I would imagine the tremendous wear and tear on a car is something to consider as well if you are using your own vehicle. Driving for Uber in NY likely makes sense but I’m not sure it’s the way to go in NJ.I’m sure that some folks are successful and happy with it but that wasn’t my experience.

Do I need to get a workers permit, for a job, if I attend Penn Foster High School Program?

I attend Penn Foster to achieve my high school diploma.
I live in Ohio with my boyfriend and his parents, not my legal guardian, and I am 17 years old.

Do I need to get a working permit to be able to get a job?

Penn Foster High School program isn't like a traditional high school. We do not have vacations or a daily schedule to do assignments.

I don't know the laws in Ohio.
A working permit is for students in high school who need to balance classes and work.

P.S
May I get a job in Ohio when I'm a minor and not with my legal guardian. In Maine where I am from, a 17 can live with someone who is not their guardian.

Who should I call for the answers of my questions?
