If I Only Been Working For 3 Months At My Job Would I Be Able To Qualify For Unemployment Because I

Can I collect Unemployment if I was laid off after two months and resigned from my previous job?

Thanks for your answers. So when you were able to collect, did they still consider the earnings from your first job (the one you quit) when calculating your weekly benefit amount and the maximum benefit amount?

Can i stil file for unemployment if was working through temp agencies?

I am currently employed as a supervisot at a temp agency in New York City. And the answer is yes, you are eligible. However, just know that if you were let go from any assignment, your unemployment claim will be denied. Because you cannot be 'fired' from a temp agency. What we do is just never call you again for an assignment.

Also, if they offer you an assignment, and you turn it down you can also be denied ui.

Also, why are you getting let go from assignments at a temp agency? What's the underlying issue.

But you an apply, but it will most likely be denied if you were let go from an assignment.

Can you receive unemployment if you worked for 3 months at your job?

If this is the only employment that you've had in the past 12 to 15 months it won't be enough to qualify for unemployment benefits. You generally need at least 6 months of full-time employment to qualify.

Additionally if you voluntarily quit to go back to school you are not eligible even if you have sufficient employment history to qualify. Unemployment benefits are for people who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. If you quit without good reason (leaving to go back to school is not good reason) you are ineligible for benefits.

Do IHSS Family Caregivers qualify for Unemployment Insurance?

I work as a Caretaker for my 87 year old step-mom, I only get 60 hours a month. I was wondering if being a caretaker under IHSS I would be able to get help from Unemployment Insurance or even qualify. My cousin was offered some help from Unemployment Insurance because he wasn't able work a lot or get enough hours and I'm wondering if I fall under his same category to get help from them.

Can you receive unemployment if you haven't had a job in a few years?

I would say no, and here’s why. In most states, you need to have been laid off or terminated without cause (as opposed to being fired or quitting) in order to be eligible for unemployment benefits. If you quit due to an unsafe job environment or long-term harassment, you can often appeal an unemployment benefits denial (I have a friend who did this). But again, the ability to obtain benefits, the amount of those benefits, and the time you have to file for them, will vary from state to state. Also, remember that unemployment benefits are fully taxable. They don’t withhold any taxes from unemployment checks, so be prepared to face a pretty stiff tax bill the next year.

Can you collect unemployment while student teaching?

You can only collect unemployment if you were let go from your job...not quit. All I can say is save save save and see if you have any friends or family that can help out. Both my husband and I went through this, I think we ate more roman noodles than we did all through out college. See if you can get part time work.

Can a military spouse collect unemployment?

Yes, you would. Under federal law, if you have to be relocated because of your husbands orders and are no longer gainfully employed, you're permitted to collect unemployment.

Even if you are "forced" to resign you're eligible to collect UI if you and your husband are relocated due to orders that are given to him. This of course depends on where you're going and where you're coming from. If you're already stationed overseas you won't get UI, if you're leaving the States and are going overseas you will be able to collect but have to oblige by the State in which you're filing process. Also, just because you resign doesn't make you ineligible!
