If I Ring The Job Centre Saying That I Am An Employer And They Confirm I Actually Am .

After applying for a job, how long do employers usually take to contact you?

I applied for a job online and received an automatic e-mail from the employer telling me if my skills matched any current vacancies, they would contact me to discuss opportunities later.

Eleven days have passed since I applied and I haven't had any contact. I'm just wondering how long is too long to wait? I heard that especially with online applications, you should wait a bit longer than usual (not sure why but that's what I was told).

Any advice is much appreciated!

If you didn't get the job do most employers call you back to tell you that you didn't get the job after the interview?

In an ideal world yes they would, and I can tell you it’s a pain when you go to the effort of applying for a job and you hear nothing or you get the interview and then nothing. On one hand it seems so rude, after all you went to all that effort.Let’s take the two scenarios:you apply for a job you hear nothing back - normally what happens is that there are so many applications that they can’t reply to each one, so normally when you apply there will be a text saying “if you are a fit for the job we will contact you. If you don’t hear from us in 15 days you have not been successful.” Image how many applications they may get - there’s no way they could give a response to everyoneYou get the interview and you don't hear back. It could be that they don’t want to get into a conversation with you and you asking about feedback what could be improved etc. Thus rather than say anything they just say nothing.Sometimes the recruiter may give you feedback on behalf of the client (if you went to an agency)However by and large don’t expect a reply and just move on and realise this. Yes it is tough but once you get used to it, it won’t affect you so much

After registering on monster.com I am getting some calls which says that my resume is been shortlisted and they are also asking me to deposit some money to generate my profile. Is this fake or what?

Of course it is fake.further if you want to have some fun talking then here is some ideas which can give some “sookoon” to your frustrated job-seeker mind:ask them why are you get selected.ask them if they will pay that amount of behalf of you then you will pay double from your very first salary.when they ask you to deposit money on xyz bank then tell them that you are injured so cant go to the bank.tell him/her than his/her voice resembles to one of your cousin are ask whether he/she is doing prank with you.act as you are very busy and talk randomly with imaginary people around you during the call.say that the signal is weak and ask for louder talk (you can also talk loud).and at last please dont abuse in phone call. better you should register complain in monster.com’s toll free number between monday to friday.

Employment Verification?

I have a family building that I am renting out and usually my grandmother choses the tenants but since she does a poor job and does not screen or verify any of their information I have been appointed to do so. I have never done an employment verification and I was wondering what questions should I ask and avoid when I call in. The tenant wants to move in this weekend so I do not have the time to mail or fax a verification letter and wait for a response. Anyone who has worked in HR or knows the laws please respond. I am in Illinois.

What happens if the dates of employment on your resume/interviews do not match up with the dates on your background check?

It is an issue with many firms particularly MNCs in to financial data or financial technology or strategic business outsourcing. The verification could fail for Indian Companies as well.Experience date in a resume is not a big issue as you have to furnish the job application or data sheet separately while attending the selection process. If a person is unable to remember the start date and end date of work in a previous organisation (sounds strange usually), employer can find the person as irresponsible. However if you have worked across 15 organizations and now attending the interview for the Head of sales, the first company where you have started the career as a trainee may not be that much relevant and in many cases, doesn’t get that much attention. When a candidate project experience with min 6 months, ideally, accurate date of joining and exit should be provided to verification agency. Compensation data is also critical for the entire tenure. If there are major mismatches in experience history and if the candidate fails to rectify the same with substantial evidences, chances are there to fail in the employment verification process.

I accepted a job offer contingent on a background check, etc...?

First, calm down and dealing with this all becomes much easier.

Though it is harrowing to have to go through a background check at any point, just keep in mind that you should know your record better than anyone else. Have you been consistently late on bills and credit card payments? Did you murder three people and a billboard back in 1999? Do you have enough traffic violations to pave from here to California?

If you know that you're pretty clean, no major issues over the last decade, than you have little to worry about. I agree with your husband that in this case you shouldn't be worried. The HR person said that not hearing anything is a good thing and that the checks take 1-2 weeks. Usually if done in bulk they get done faster, so you should hear very soon if anything went wrong, which I doubt.

Now, regarding the open house for interviews. If they are already holding another open house and hiring more people it could be for a variety of reasons. They could realize that they only hired a few people and that they still need more. They could be staffing other positions that were already open, or that have opened since your interview schedule began. They could have already planned to staff via multiple interview sessions, which many companies do, and are simply following their plan.

If you are really concerned about the process, call them. Be very respectful and explain that you're just calling to see how the details are coming and when you should expect to hear back regarding your start day (where to go, who to meet, etc).

If you do call, keep the following in mind:
1. Do not tell them you are nervous about your background check.
2. Do not sound desperate and unsure; remain confident.
3. Do not mention them hiring more people, or setting up more interviews.
4.Do not ask how many people they hired, or the status of your offer

Remember, they have offered you a position, so from here on out they have to contact you to retract it. If you don't hear from them about whether or not they are still hiring you, don't rock the boat. You can call or email to see about start date details, but that's it.

Good luck, but I'm sure you'll be fine!

How do employers know if you have graduated from a college? Do they call your college to verify?

Many will check your college transcripts to verify your credentials or ask for your transcript along with your application. Others will not check but will check on your work to ensure that you’re a competent employee. Some will only ask for your certificate, while others will want to know the courses you took and the grades you received. Yet others will check your credentials down the line. This is not uncommon, especially if you’re later promoted.Don’t ever lie about educational credentials. These types of mistakes often catch up to those who are dishonest. Or, the guilt will be such that you’ll end up quitting your job.

Do employers verify associates degrees?

Yes they will, since it only takes a simple phone call. Or they will ask you to provide your transcipt or copy of your diploma. I am sure your school has an alternate class available that will meet your diploma requirements. Talk to your advisor or the enrollment counsellor to find out what it is. If you lie on your resume, it is cause for immediate termination, whether they find out in a week or in a year. No point in getting a job to live in fear of losing it.
