They still have the old coversations. The only thing the block does is not let you see the messages that person sends and them not appearing in your friend/contact list. But yeah, it doesn't get deleted atleast not for them. Just for you.

No, but if your trying to keep them from seeing a picture you didn’t want them to see you should have just deleted it by holding down on it and pressing delete.
