If I Stretch It Out Will The Pain Go Away

Are there remedies for pain after stretching ears?

Either a lil ice... or EVEN BETTER, if you have some chamomile tea, make the tea... but then take the tea bag and lay it on your lobes, the warmth will soothe, and chamomile is a Natural anti-inflammatory.

Stretching should never hurt... if this happened every time... then it sounds like your not waiting long enough between stretches

You SHOULD be waiting AT LEAST the Bare minimum between stretches:
16g to 14g - 1 month
14g to 12g - 1 month
12g to 10g - 1.5 months
10g to 8g - 2 months
8g to 6g - 3 months
6g to 4g - 3 month
4g to 2g - 3 months
2g to 0g - 4 months
0g to 00g - 4 months

I'm gonna guess you've developed a fair share of scar tissue too... for the sake, health and beauty of your lobes take your time, go SLOW *Stretching isn't a race* and pick up some Jojoba oil at your local health foods store, and start massaging and oiling your lobes to break up and dissolve any and all scar tissue as well as making stretching easier... It's proven that oil massaging your lobes twice a day Plus waiting the appropriate times lead to easier pain free stretches, as well as happy stretchy lobes

I stretched my ear and its swollen how do i get it to go down?

Ice it and take ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and will help reduce the swelling, as will the ice.

What kind of jewellery are you using? Make sure if there are any o-rings that they are loose enough to give your ear plenty of room for the swelling. If there is an actual backing to the jewellery (as opposed to just a plug with no backing) make sure the jewellery is long enough for the swelling, you may even need to remove the backing or o-ring for a bit.

Good luck.

I stretched my nutsack?!?

This was an incident that had happened over a year ago or more. I was in the bathtub one day, and don't ask me why, but I was playing with my balls. I tried to stretch them open, much like how you open a bag of chips. I put one hand on the left and one on the right, and I pulled apart. All of a sudden, my arms just went farther apart quickly, and my heart DROPPED! I thought I had ripped open my ball sack. Turns out I didn't, but my ball sack started BURNING like the flames of hell. So I got out of the hot water and onto cool air, and It burned even worse. I'm 14 now. I'm scarred that I made my balls drop or something when they were not ready, or I messed something up, or I won't be able to have kids. Please help me. Will I be okay? And just to let you know, I had no pain in my balls at all. Just the burning, but that only lasted for about a day or two.

Pulled a muscle in my leg and now I can't stretch?

Well, you probably pulled a muscle like you said. Waiting to stretch again until would be the smartest way to let your injury heal. However, since it still hurts, I would definitely not stretch for another week. Until then, be sure to take care of your leg muscles by being careful whenever you are engaging in physical activity. Don't keep pushing your leg muscles to see how much you can do until it hurts again. That could lengthen your injury and damage it even more. Something that would soothe your leg muscle would be to take warm baths with epsom salt. It is very cheap and can be found at stores such as Walmart and Walgreens. Epsom salt is used by athletes and dancers to soothe muscle cramps and injuries. If you have a bruise, soaking in epsom salt pulls the bruise and swelling out. Leg muscle injuries are the most common injuries known to dancers. Usually what happens is lactic acid builds up around the hamstring. Massaging the hamstring helps too. Be firm, but don't hurt yourself. You can even buy something that looks like a rolling pin (silly, I know) but it works very well at getting rid of the lactic acid. Other than that, don't push yourself as I said before because that will make it harder for your hamstring to heal. As for seeing a doctor, I wouldn't rush into that just yet. Wait another week, and if the pain doesn't get better or worsens, I would take seeing a doctor into consideration. Consulting your coach or dance teacher can also be helpful. Do you remember what you were doing when the pain first occurred? They know all about leg placement and joint alignment. When I hurt my leg during a split and the pain wouldn't subside, I consulted my teacher. She helped me understand what muscles were working when you do a split. We then ascertained that it was a hamstring injury. Unfortunatley, I had a kick dance to practice for, so I can relate to your situation. I took a week off and stretched slightly. Then, when I went back to dance, I always took Tylenol or Advil. Then at the end of every practice, I took a hot bath with epsom salt. By the time the week was over, my injury had been completely healed. Dont hesitate to try because this can only improve your situation. Anyways, good luck and I hope that this helps and you get well soon!!!! :)

How long is ear stretching supposed to hurt?

I stretched me ears from 12 to 10 a few hours ago and it stung pretty badly, and my ears felt like they were on fire, so I took out the 10 gauge plug and put my 12 gauge claw back in.
It's not supposed to even hurt, right? I think maybe I stretched too quickly. I waited about 3 weeks in between my stretches. Should I have waited longer?

I stretched my ear from 8G to a 6G yesterday, today it's swollen, hard and painful - did i do it right?

I stretched my ear from 8G to a 6G yesterday, it was painful all day and throbbing. Today it's swollen, hard and still painful, I'm just wondering if i did it right and if this is normal? I don't want to take the taper out (Incidentally i used a Bull horn taper)...I'm no stranger to pain so i don't mind keeping it in as long as i know that what I've done is normal and that it will heal ok?
Is there anything I can do to reduce swelling, I have taken arnica to reduce bruising/swelling...Don't Currently have any Ibuprofen but will get some if it's really gonna help. Would appreciate any ideas or advice!

Thanks for your help! :-)

Does stretching in the morning hurt the baby?

The sharp pains are probably round ligament pains, which are very common in pregnancy. Your body releases hormones that loosen the tendons and ligaments in your body, so that your bones in your pelvis can spread out in order for you to give birth. As you get bigger, they stretch and lengthen. This can cause sharp pains in the lower abdomen, especially if they are on one side or the other. I had a doctor tell me they usually went away by 22 weeks, but I still get them occasionally.

They may hurt you, but they don't bother the baby at all. Stretching is good for you, so as long as it doesn't cause you a lot of pain, it's probably ok.

How can I reduce my stretched ears to stop stinging?

I just got over the same hump as you (yay for 3/4th!) and my ears are currently stinging and sore from being stretched. I've learned that it's unfortunately normal and yours are going to be pissier for these reasons:

1) 11/16ths exists between 5/8ths and 3/4ths, so you essentially skipped a size. This will cause additional pain.

2) You stretched with silicone.

Silicone is notorious for causing tears and other assorted issues and all reputable brands, including KAOSSoftware, recommends that silicone not be used for new stretches. It likes to bond to the body, cause cuts, and is too soft to hold a 'true' 3/4ths diameter. For a less painful stretch, a few suggestions are:

1) Go down to 11/16ths and let your ears rest there for a bit. I was impatient and waited a week before going from 11/16ths to 3/4ths, so I'm getting the stinging, burning feelings as well.

2) Use single-flare surgical steel tunnels and tapers! They don't harbor as much bacteria, make for easier stretching, and tend to hurt less than basically slamming your ears open with silicone.

I've also noticed that some gauges are tougher than others and, as a result, tend to ache more - 3/4ths is one of those sizes. Just tough it out if it's tolerable and keep an eye on it. If you develop any strange redness, inflammation, oozing, pussing, or ungodly pain, size down immediately and get to work on healing that infection! Good luck!
