If I Wan To Be A Sports Statistician What Do I Have To Major In In Collage

Should I major in Sports Management in college?

You can have the best of both worlds by majoring in business administration. People often forget that sports is actually a business -a form of entertainment business. You might want to minor in marketing or public relations for a good combination. With that background you can still be involved in sports management, yet it allows you to be more adaptable and have other greater opportunities outside of the sports realm. Most of the people involved in sports management today were probably business administration majors rather than sports management majors. Just be sure to choose a well respected university with regional accreditation. Avoid ANY online school and ANY of those for-profit scam schools that draw suckers and get their grads mocked rather than hired. See RipOffReport.com for reviews of schools to avoid.

How did you become a statistician?

Well,Answering your questions one by one.My job Title is Data Analyst and I have been working as a Data Analyst for almost a year.I joined for this vacant position. Both my majors and minors are statistics. BSc and MSc in Statistics from Loyola College. My career path was easy. I got a job after finishing my masters final exam. I was done with my finals on April 25th and started work on May 2nd. I was probably the first one to start working in a statistics domain as soon as completing my exams. By God’s grace I was working on NLP and predictive Modelling. It is very unusual for a fresher to get such opportunities right away after completing college. Later I quit my job and joined another online marketing firm where I was working on cluster analysis. Again I quit the job and started working for a Local magazine company as Data Analyst/Statistician.I normally work alone. I also work with a team i.e a team of digital marketing, IT departments and business departments to maximise revenues. My day at office is more like creating a report for some metrics of the previous day. Working on user’s propensity analysis. My favourite thing about being a statistician is that it makes you stand out from the group. You are not completely into programming and not completely into business. You know programming in R which helps you with Statistical techniques. With the results you work with the business teams and give them ideas and points to focus on.Apart from a Statistician, the IT department has no idea what statistical algorithms are and the business team doesn’t know programming. You are so Unique.Things I hate about being a Statistician is that you are not intelligible to everyone. You have to come down to your co workers level and explain them stuffs. My advice.Be Shrewd. Be Polite. Learn incessantly. Don’t study for marks and instead study for knowledge.Never feel that you haven’t learnt everything. Be cool. Forget that life is rate race. Statisticians never have to be a part of the rat race. Have a great idol as your statisticians. Spend more time with your faculty learning new stuff. My best wishes for your career.

I am a statistics major but I suck at math?

Im a sophmore in college and I am majoring in statistics but I suck at math! I can get As in all my stat courses but I struggle to get Cs in math courses. I love stats but I just cant do your standard calculus stuff. Should I pick a new major?

Do I need to take these math courses for Sports Medicine major?

I am 17 and am currently in school for my AA degree and am enrolled in statistics. I know I'll be able to pass stats class with an A but I was wondering, if for my major, would I have to continue on in my math and go into precalc and trigonometry? I have already taken College Alg. I also want to be a Sports Medicine Physician.

Should I take Statistics or College Algebra?

Here's the deal... I am going back to school after 2 years away at St. Mary and the math course I had from the college I went to was not transferable. At the school I went to I took a placement test and had to take Intermediate Algebra (Math is not my strong suit) now I need another math class and can either take a placement test and go in to College Alg (if I place into it) or I can skip that and take Statistics.
So, bearing in mind that I do well with just plain number math like percentages, fractions, etc but no so well with matrices, formulas and drawn out equations; what do you think is my best bet? I am not familiar with Statistics, what all does it entail? Would I fail miserably? I just don't want to place low and end up having to take 3 Math classes to get into Coll Alg for 3 stinking credit hours!!! Do you think it's possible for someone to just buckle down and pass Stataistics when they are not good in Math or is it infintely harder than Algebra? HELP...

What classes are important to take if you want your major to be sports medicine?

Other than the classes that are a part of the major’s curriculum it will depend on your college’s requirements.I had the option of taking two maths and a science or two sciences and a math and that was actually a general education requirement, not one for the major. The only stipulation for the science courses were that they could not be something that I already had to take for the major. For example, I was required to take anatomy for the major, which was split into two different classes. Neither part one nor part two would count towards my general education requirements though. So I ended up taking a simple Biology 101 which had a lab class as well, and then I took a Physics 101 course (which in retrospect was a horrible decision). The math isn’t as crucial, so I went with one I hadn’t already had in high school (Statistics). I did terrible in that course. I should’ve taken Calculus again, haha.Any more questions about athletic training/sports med, feel free to reach out! I hope this helped you.

The first requirement is clear cut, to be a statistician, you must read statistics, a lot; and really have to know it. So, clearly there are two paths.(1) You are in your high school and choosing your college course now. To be a statistician, take a statistics major, computer minor course strategy.
