If I Want To Work At Victoria

I really want to work at Victoria's Secret. Tips?

So, I had an interview at Victoria's Secret about a month ago. I dressed appropriately, black blazer, black slacks, and low heels. I curled my shoulder length hair, and did light makeup (lipstick and mascara). I also smiled a lot and answered the questions the best I could, and politely raised my hand to speak so I wouldn't interrupt someone (it was a group interview, about seven or eight people, including myself). I had somewhat flexible hours, during the weekdays Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, I can only work evenings/nights, cause I have class during the day (I'm a college student who's on summer break currently) but I left weekends completely open (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). I can also work during holidays. As far as work experience, I only have volunteer work in a classroom environment, so kind of like daycare, but it was volunteer work I did for about 6 summers, so for 6 years in a row. I feel like that shows my dedication and work ethic. So... what did I do wrong? Can anyone please give me advice? I wanna apply to a different Victoria's Secret near me, perhaps before their next Semi Annual sale but I wanna get the job this time! Please help!

What is it like to work at Victoria's Secret?

I am thinking about becoming a sales associate for VS and I wanted some background first.

1. What are the pro/cons for working there?

2. Is there salary, commission or both? And how much?

3. If you need to move, can they transfer you to a store in your new location?

Can guys work at Victoria's Secret?

He is married BTW.....

What is it like working for H&M and Victoria Secret?

We have a lot of people coming in to do the floorset that night that also have school next morning (myself included) however, ours ends at 2:30am because we split it into two separate nights (8-12a monday, 10-2:30am tuesday). 6am is ridiculous! and they should ask before scheduling everyone that late!

Victoria's Secret will have you working late at floor sets. Its the same company as Bath & Body Works..

Im not sure about H&M.. heres a link that will help you

Just so you know, MOST (not all) store managers at BBW have a bachelors degree and make 60-80k a year. Just because she works in retail doesnt mean shes uneducated. Some people actually like it. I dont know what the case is with your manager, she may just be a big b*tch, but I just think thats kind of unfair to judge all people for working in retail..Jobs are hard to come by nowadays and college is expensive

Make sure you give two weeks notice, or else you will be put as no-rehire. Not a big deal, but if you need them as a reference or if you want to work at Victoria's Secret, it is a huge deal. They will not hire you at VS if you're non rehireable status in the limited brands system...

Its too bad it didnt work out for you

Do I have any chance at working at Victoria's Secret?

I just applied for a sales associate job at Victoria's Secret in Oregon. I've applied at a different store before, but had to take back my application because I got another job right before the interview was scheduled. I do not have any retail experience. But, I have worked at a daycare, and as a babysitter for many families (GREAT references!!) and as a nanny for a couple as well. Do you think I have any chance at getting the job? Or even the interview? The lady acted like she liked me, but I really don't know! I feel like I look the part, tall blonde, and I was wearing all black professional clothing when I went in to drop off my application. What do you think? Also, any tips for the interview process (If I even get one, LOL)? THANKS:)

Can you live in Victoria BC and work in Vancouver BC?

No.

Regular Harbour Air flights between Victoria and Vancouver cost $170 (plus GST) one way. Flight schedules only operate during daylight hours. In the winter months flight do not start until 9am and return at 3pm. Hardly suitable for most work schedules. This then assumes that you can get to Victoria's inner harbour in the morning (parking is $2/hour at the lot) and can get from Vancouver's sea plane terminal to work (few jobs are within walking distances of the terminal), and of course can do the opposite on the way home.

The plane only holds about six people meaning that flights can easily be booked solid at any given time. Summer schedules are routinely packed with tourists. Flight time is about 20 minutes, but you need to be there early. Fog, high winds, high waves, winds, blowing snow, etc. on either side can easily cancel flights for days at a time. If a flight is cancelled, its a half-day trip to the ferry, across to the island, and back into Victoria -- or an insanely expensive helijet flight (if it is flying) or else spending the night in a Vancouver hotel.

The service is suitable for the occasional business trip, meeting, or conference, but not for daily commutes. You might be able to get away commuting if your job was extremely close to the ferry terminal in Tsawwassen and lived in say Sidney (north of Victoria near the ferry terminal) or possibly one of the Gulf Islands. Even that would be a busing hassle.

About the only people I know who to regular commutes are ferry workers, airline employees, or truckers. I have known a few people who maintain an apartment in Vancouver... work for three or four days a week and then return to family on the weekend.

What to expect working at victoria secret?

You CANT wear there Pink sweat pants and stuff like that to work so don't listen to them

I always see the girls working there with all black, black dress pants, black skirts, cute black heels, and black shirts.

You'll also need to kno bout all the different types of undies, and fragrances. But im sure they'll teach you all that!!

What are the requirements for working at Victoria's Secret?

Victoria's Secret, like most retail careers, require retail experience first. Second:You need sales skills: Everybody is not good at selling products, convincing shoppers to put more items in their cart than they intended and to get the best value for their money: i.e. "I see you're struggling between these two full-priced bras that you like. Why not take advantage of our buy one get one sale so you can get this second bra for half price and stretch the wearing time out for your active lifestyle? That way you can come back in a few weeks and get this bra and you'll have three instead of just two AND you'll have spent less" (The buy one get one sale will have them shelling out more money in one visit than that ONE bra they were going to buy to "save money" and you impressed upon them to keep thinking about the bra they really want in the mean time so they'll be ambitious enough to come back and spend more.)After the main thing (which is retail experience and sales skills)  then you have to :Know a lot about the company. If you come to the interview and you gush over the company like its a celebrity crush then they will be more apt to hire you. It helps to shop at the company. After all, how can you sell Victoria's Secret underwear if you yourself are not even a customer? Do you know about their promotions? Do you stalk their website because you just LOVE their sales? Do you have an idea of the different kinds of cuts of bras? Do you know who founded it? Do you sign up for their mailing list to stay abreast? Finally, do you WANT the job? Do you behave in such a way that says  "You know you want to hire me, so  lets cut to the chase and just give me the job already." Your voice inflection should say "this job is mine" This attitude and all accompanying behaviors and mannerisms is how you will "close the deal".
