If I Was Fired For Theft But Didnt Take Nothing Should I Put Fired On My Resume Or Not

How long after someone is fired can they be rehired at the same place?

That depends on the company and the reason for being fired. Companies may have explicit policies for re-hiring terminated employees or it may be a subjective process. Either way there’s no guarantee that an employer will take an employee back after any amount of time has passed. If the reason for termination was due to downsizing or layoff then a former employee might have a decent chance of getting rehired when the company is in better financial shape. However, the timeline for that is unpredictable. In fact the company may never get back on its feet.If the employee was fired for performance reasons then I’d expect the employee would have to demonstrate how they’ve changed since being terminated. Was there some personal situation that has since been remedied? Has the employee received additional training or education? Have they demonstrated a strong record of employment at another company? A company is less likely to rehire a poor performer than someone they had to let go because of downsizing. Still, if the employee has demonstrated some form of progress they might take them back. How long it would take to get rehired would depend largely on how long it takes the employee to demonstrate a significant change in circumstances. If the termination occurred due to criminal activity, an ethical lapse or because of intentional actions that brought serious harm to the company then the most likely answer is “never.”

Can being fired for theft show up on my record?

Yes I was fired for theft, yes it was wrong, I don't wanna hear it. HOWEVER... no charges were pressed, no fines (except pay for the merchandise) and no cops/being arrested. A prospective employer just called me back and said I couldn't be hired because my background check failed, but I have NEVER been arrested or in trouble with the law. Could being fired show up? Even though no charges were pressed...

I got fired for "stealing". When applying for a new job, what is a vague way of saying I was fired?

just say u got released & only explain details when asked, tell your side completely

I got fired for stealing, how can I get a new job?

I got fired this morning from target. What happened is I would make $5 dollar gift cards for myself if I didn t have money for lunch. Our assets protection cought me. They said I had used $45 worth, and my employment was terminated immediately. The thing is, it has been my only job, and I ve worked there for a little over a year and a half. Other than making those stupid decisions, I was a really good employee. I was trained in multiple parts of the store, was on time, and I was always polite to guests.
Where do I go from here? Can I use them as a reference, and if so how?

Can u still find a job after being fired for stealing?

I was fired for taking home cosmetic testers (my trainer said it was ok to take samples n testers home, and I saw the Senior Beauty Advisor in my dept. do it, too, so I thought it was ok if she did that). I was told to pay $150 in retribution fees n had someone from Loss Prevention meet with my boss and me. Now my future job verifications will involve Loss Prevention should they call my last employer, so I want to leave them out of my resume. Now before you yell at me (don't) I took responsibility n paid the fee right away, n am sorry for this stupid mistake. Luckily, they didn't have me arrested, so I assumed it wouldn't be on my criminal record. or am I wrong?

My ?s are: Can I get hired elsewhere w/o problems if I just leave that last employer out? (like a normal job hunt w/ a "clean" record like I had before).

Will that last employer show up in my background check even if I leave it out?

Since I wasn't arrested for this, will this stealing incident still be in my criminal record?

If this happened to u or someone you knew, then how much longer and how much harder would it be to find a job bc of being fired for stealing "free" stuff (I never took any money or products off the shelf, just "free" testers n samples that other workers said it was ok to take), or for stealing anything at all?

Please help, n many thanx in advance!

I got fired from my job, what to do now?

Hi there,
Welcome to yahoo answers.

I'll start off by saying, the other guy who answered here, saying that a 3 month job with target does not belong on a resume, is WRONG.
If you were as highly regarded by your employer as you say, then it DOES belong on a resume. Especially if your boss said they are willing to be a good reference for you.
Good references with companies such as Target, are highly regarded by employers.

Secondly, companies do not have the right to publicly "name and shame" ANYONE for theft, unless they have solid proof, a police report, and charges being made by the police.
In the eye of the law, If you were not charged and convicted of a crime, you are not guilty of a crime (innocent until proven guilty).
Therefore, if retailers put you on a public list, saying that you are a thief, (and you have not been convicted for theft), they can be sued for millions of dollars, for defamation.
Target would not be stupid enough to have put you on such a list, unless you were charged, and convicted for that crime.

The one thing the other answerer was right about, is to be at least relatively upfront about why you were "let go" from your job at Target.
During an interview, if asked why you left your job, tell them that you misunderstood a certain company policy, and the company (not your boss) decided to "let you go" because of it.
Tell them that you regret your misunderstanding of the rules, and that you have learned a huge lesson through what happened.
Tell them that you were highly regarded in your job (that you were promoted 2 months in etc), and that your boss is willing to remain as a positive reference, to reassure them, that you can be trusted.

Whatever you decide to do, DON'T be evasive about why you lost your previous job. Many Employers, by policy, will immediately disqualify you for being evasive about previous jobs.
Using Target as a job reference will help immensely in getting a job.

I hope all this info is helpful to you.
Good Luck!
