If I Went Up To Children And Said Want Some Candy Etc As A Joke Would I Go To Jail

If i stop going to school my parents will go to jail ?

My little sister started ditching a lot at your age, and eventually dropped out at age 17. My parents did not go to jail. That doesn’t mean they can't though. Legally they can be sent to jail or have Child Protective Services come to your house and talk to them and you. That can cause more problems. If your parents really wanted to, they could actually call the police and have them come over to your house and drive you to school. This happened to my best friend several times.

If you are thinking of dropping out. That is a terrible idea, because it’s going to be pretty much impossible to find a job without a high school education. It’s already pretty much impossible find a job even with a high school education. I’d be thinking about your future more if I were you.

My seven year old son stole candy from the supermarket; how should I react to this?

In a very neutral but firm and clear voice, say:“I did not pay for that candy but you have candy. That means that you took candy from the store without paying for it. That is called “stealing”. Taking things from others without permission or payment is “stealing”. You stole. I can’t allow you to keep this candy. I can not allow you to steal. We will have to go back to the store, speak to the manager and tell them that it wasn’t paid for, and return the candy. I can help you with choosing the words, but you will have to hand it back yourself nicely and do the apology.”A while after it’s done, you need to say something along the lines of:”I know returning the candy and facing what you had done was not easy, but you did it anyway and I’m very proud of you for that. You did well. “Then put your hand affectionately on their shoulder or hug them.Stores are very understanding. I had to do this once.My son is so proud that he never did it ever again. This can be a very common behavior of certain kids between 5–7 year olds I find.It is either with a candy here and there, or a tiny and cute figurine/LEGO at a friend’s or relative’s house. It is impulsivity and too much momentary focus on desire.Sometimes they think, correctly or incorrectly, that their needs are at the bottom of the list and they will just take care of things themselves on occasion.Sometimes the stuff just looks too good and they’re hungry. There is a reason the store puts it out at child eye and hand level!Places like Whole Foods lets you take and give one apple for free for your child to eat while you shop. It helps take the edge off of hunger and gives the child something to do.Lots of kids are taken shopping when they’re hungry and tired. This, combined with their parent’s focus being elsewhere, creates prime conditions for acting out impulses. They know it’s wrong it’s just that the swinging pendulum stayed a little too long on the wrong side. The idea that people are watching them and they may invite disapproval unto themselves is usually a deterrent because it makes them feel very uncomfortable. It is important to make sure they are sitting with uncomfortable feelings for awhile when they do wrong things, and to not distract them from that. That way they correctly associate poor decisions with poor personal and social outcomes.Additionally, they will also have the chance to bring thinking and feeling into closer alignment.

Children Tried as Adults in court???

It really depends on the child in question and the crime commited.

Should a 6 year old be charged with vehicular manslaughter if hes playing in his parents car and slips the car into neutral and it rolls over some one and kills them? no, it was an accident, at that age the child might not have known better.

11 years later if that same kid takes his learners permit or even licence and goes speeding down the road and kills some one? Sure he knew better.

Minors are any one under the age of 18. a 17 year old who stabs someone to death knows better and should be tried like an adult.

I think what it really comes down to is could the "child" have known better? Was it simply an accident of youth? Can they learn that their behaviour is wrong with the statuets in place for minors?

Is spanking the right form of punishment for a 8 yo child who has done shoplifting?

It all depends on your parenting style. I'll just put it this way, if this were one of my daughters, spanking would be the first consequence she'd be getting. The others would include taking the candy bars back to the store (if possible), apologizing to the person responsible, and repaying for the candy bars however possible (picking up trash, cleaning, or doing extra chores either @ the store, or around here in order to pay for the items). All of this on top of a super long talk about how wrong stealing is.

OH YA we take stealing very seriously. Thank goodness, mine haven't gone that far (knock on wood).

Good Luck

Neighbor keeps giving toys and candy to my 3 year old, How can I make him stop without seeming rude?

Well let's cut to the chase. You could check if he is on the sex offender's register under Megan's Law (local police station should have information). That would be a start. If the answer is negative, at least you will feel better. If he is, then you may have to consider moving again.

This is your child, you have every reason to have control over what he or she shouldn't have. You should explain to the neighbours that you are trying to teach your child only to accept items from family members, because you want them to grow up aware of stranger danger and you are concerned about them eating too much candy. If your neighbours are going to become offended because they think it is a black/white thing, then, frankly, something else may crop up again in the future as it does in every day life, so are you going to come up with this situation repeated. However, they may not feel offended at all, so you really need to find out if this is the case for peace of mind. You need to give them the benefit of the doubt whilst bearing the safety of your child chiefly in mind.

Why do so many senior citizens shoplift little things (candy bars, trinkets, etc)?

Maybe they feel like their dignity has been removed or maybe their mind is so confused they are just taking what they want as if it belonged to them.

What do you do if your kids do mean things but threaten to call 911 if you are strict with them?

My kids tried that I told them to call and they backed down.Tell your kids if they call they will end up in a foster home.Don't let your kids dog you out they will go over board.Call and talk to a school social worker and let her know what's going on. You need peopleto know that your kids are planning to lie on you.
