If I Were Charged With 2 Misdemeanors Marijuana

Will a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge from 3 years ago affect renting an apartment?

Sure he has a record?
The application and getting him on the lease will go just fine!
Happened when he was a minor, probably had a deferred sentence, some probation and no criminal record from a first time offense. Usually juvenile records are sealed when you turn. To be 100% for the future he contacts the court where the offense occurred and asks. Many courts will charge $6 for looking up the records on line. This way he knows if he needs to have his juvenile record expunged / sealed.

I suggest you contact a professor of legal ethics in a law school in your jurisdiction about the matter. If your charges are all misdemeanors, in most U.S. jurisdictions the answer is probably yes. You will need to be completely forthcoming about your criminal history in your application for admission to the bar. Having these things on your record may not keep you from being a lawyer, but lying about them almost certainly will. I have seen people in similar situations admitted to the bar, but forced to jump through additional hoops first (such as clerking for a respected law firm for a given amount of time after law school and getting its recommendation). But asking a legal ethics professor from a law school in the jurisdiction where you are seeking admission is definitely the way to go. Don’t waste the time, money, and effort of going down that path without doing it first.

I don't see why not. Sure, you were arrested and do need to list that on an employment application or even perhaps on a school application. The school application is an iffy area. But then you state on the application that charges were dismissed. You don't need to go into more detail than that.Obviously something happened between the arrest and now…don't really want to know the what or why. Prospective employers generally don't care either; but rest assured that many do a sort of quick background check.Dismissal means…can mean many things…but at least you owned up to it rather than them finding out by other means. Honesty is the best policy. I'd look at it and say hmm but it was dismissed so who cares? If you were a juvenile at the time, I am not so sure that it even needs be mentioned.Perhaps one of the lawyers will chime in on this.

Can you join the military with a marijuana charge?

1st offense you can have it expunged. Go to your local court clerk or get an attorney and they can show you how. Very easy.

Btw...great answer top Contributor. I see how you got your title...lol not by being helpful or right by any means!! Does it hurt your little finger to give all the thumbs down to help your cause? Lmao

And I quote " Check the waiverable list of criminal offenses for the particular branch you wish to join. Misdemeanors that occurred as a juvenile are more likely to be waived than serious crimes. Each branch has its own standards, but some crimes such as recent felonies are generally unwaiverable. The Army's offenses that are most likely non-waiverable include assault, rape, murder and drug related convictions. The Air Force makes it possible to waiver admitted amphetamine use and convictions for possession of drug paraphernalia; admitted infrequent marijuana use is also waiverable in the Air Force."

By the way..my daughter spoke to a recruitment office ...did all her paper work...she decided not to go in however they kept bugging her to make the choice to enlist.

YES YOU CAN JOIN THE MILITARY!!! Ha!!!

If you’re looking for a magic answer - it doesn’t exist. Like any crime, you don’t have to prove your innocence, the prosecution has to prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But, being untrained in the law, you may have a very hard time raising doubt about their case while acting within the rules of evidence and criminal procedure. You could always ask for a continuance, go to law school, pass the bar, and then mount your own defense.

Can I get a Pharmacy Technician license with a misdemeanor charge of marijuana that was almost 5 years ago?

Regarding Prior Criminal History and Disciplinary Actions

The Florida Board of Pharmacy receives numerous questions from applicants regarding prior
criminal offenses. The following are the most frequently asked questions:

Question: What crimes or license discipline must be reported on the application?

Answer: All convictions, guilty pleas and nolo contendere pleas must be reported, except for
minor traffic violations not related to the use of drugs or alcohol. This includes
misdemeanors, felonies, “driving while intoxicated (DWI)” and “driving under the
influence “(DUI).” Crimes must be reported even if they are a suspended sentence. All
prior or current disciplinary action against another professional license must be
reported, whether it occurred in Florida or in another state or territory.

Question: Can a person obtain a license if they have a misdemeanor or felony crime
on their record?

Answer: Each application is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The Board of Pharmacy
considers the nature, severity, and recency of offenses, rehabilitation and other
factors. The Board cannot make a determination for approval or denial of licensure
without evaluating the entire application and supporting documentation.

Question: Do I have to report charges if I completed a period of probation and the charges were
dismissed or closed?

Answer: Yes. Offenses must be reported to the Board even if you received a suspended
sentence and the record is now considered closed.

Applicants with previous arrest or disciplinary action on a license will not be authorized to
practice pharmacy until all documentation is cleared by staff or reviewed by the Board.

Can I get a passport if I have a misdemeanor charge - no conviction?

Hello,
I agree with other members that said that you shouldn't have any problems getting your passport now, but you probably want to expunge that from your record as soon as possible since in the future even small thing like that could prevent you from getting a decent job. Once you become eligible contact your lawyer, or if you don't have one go online and just google expungement you should be able to find many lawyers that deal with clearing of criminal record. I think that http://www.recordgone.com is the most popular one but there are many others too.
Good luck
