If Is Get 3 Black Mollies What Gender Do I Get Of Each

How to determine the gender of a goldfish, black moor, black molly and breeding heart?

Goldfish such as black moors are cold water fish and should never be kept with tropicals such as mollies and bleeding heart tetras. So, no, it is not alright to keep these fish in the same tank.

How do you know the gender of black mollies?

If you want no more than 2 fish, then do not get a pair. Livebearers need to have at least 2 females for every male. If you only have one, the male will stress the female and you will either have a dead fish or a sick one.

As far as being able to tell, in the female the anal fins will be kind of fanned, where the male will have a more pointed shape.=

Black Molly fish question?

This could be a male picking on a male. My white male picks on my smaller dalmation male and it irritates the heck out of me.

A female will be rounder than a male. Males have a gondopodium, a specialized anal fin shaped like a rod. This is their penis. This allows mollies to have live young. When she is gravid(expecting) she will have a dark spot by her anal fin. On black mollies, this would be impossible to see. :) Females have a fan-shape anal fin. Males will terrorize females for days, especially when she is expecting. They will swarm around her actually trying to eat the babies as they come out! Some parents!

Mollies will eat their babies, so when and if you do get them, remove them to a smaller tank(a one gallon with a air filter in it works wonders) to save them.

Black Molly hurting Black Moor?

Someone I know has a black molly and it is chasing after her black moor and it starts biting him and it wont stop!! Did I mention the black molly has ich and would it transmit diseases! How can I stop the molly? And will the poor black moor get ich too!!!!!

Question about my black Molly fish?

Mollies dont really school. But they do like to have some other mollies around to make them feel more secure and happy. They dont necessarily have to all be black though. In a 20 gallon tank I would recommend getting all the same gender so they wont breed and overpopulate the tank. Mollies dont really need brackish water but adding about a teaspoon of marine salt to their water will help them stay healthy

How do u sex silver mollies?

With all mollies, the easiest way to sex them is by looking at the fin underneath their body.
If the fin is more pointed then it's a male, if it is a rounded fin, then it is a female.

In my aquarium, I house 4 mollies and there is one that continuously chases the other one. Why is that?

Could you provide more information to help us figure out what’s going on?How many gallons is your tank? Are there any other inhabitants? Do you know the genders of your mollies? Are there plenty of hiding spaces for them in your aquarium? My best guess is that this is one of two things. The fish chasing the other fish may be a male chasing a female. Mollies and other livebearing fish are best kept in a ratio of 3 females to every 1 male. This ensures that the male will have his attention spread between the females and not chase a single female all the time. Having an incorrect ratio of males to females can cause the females to become stressed and tired from being pursued all the time, and this can cause them to get sick. Make sure that you have the correct ratio of males to females. In case you’re new to sexing livebearers, I’ll add a guide to the bottom of my answer. The second possibility is that it’s an issue of territory. If the fish do not have adequate space, they may chase each other in an attempt to establish their own territory. Ensuring your tank is of the proper size, is not overstocked, and has plenty of hiding places will help mitigate this. When determining the gender of livebearing fish, it’s helpful to look at their anal fin, pictured above. Males have modified anal fins called gonopodiums, which are pointed. Females have anal fins that are fan shaped.
