How serious of a threat is ISIS to India? Can the Indian Armed Forces contain them easily?
Not really - since we have been facing an ISIS (a terrorist controlled state) of our own for the past 67 years {Pakistan} - which has been particularly aggressive in the last 30 years with their dirty terrorist war and moreover they had the backing of the US and NATO and now China. We have been doing fine with that so yes we will be able to handle them.LeT or JeM is just as brutal as ISIS - they also do beheadings of civilians (including children - a 4 year child got murdered recently) - attack Maternity and Women and Children's hospitals - families of servicemen - innocent civilians - rape women (one brave Kashmiri girl killed an LeT commander to protect her family) - Pak Army works with terrorists to bait India into retaliating and trying to make us look like the bad guy to get more support/recruits - the Organization of Islamic Nations (OIC) supports them in all their resolutions against us - etc - the only DIFFERENCE is they don't use youtube or twitter like ISIS to recruit - they prefer conventional rallies/TV interviews/one-on-one chat to brainwash people into becoming terrorists. On the ISIS side - they're not powerful at all - they just look flashy - any country in the middle east like Egypt or regional power aspirants like Turkey and Iran could beat them down easily if they put their minds to it. ISIS has atmost 50000 terrorist fighters - most of them are young disenfranchised idiots suckered into the life of violence/drugs/sex through slavery etc - they don't have a working airforce or even a proper mechanized corps or logistics corps. They don't have a functioning administration - sharia law is too harsh and their atrocities are too great - the population they terrorize outnumbers them 1000 to 1 at many places. Isis is bullshit everything is. There is no war on terror. There never was weps of mass destruction. Fake executions on green screens. Isis is funded by the CIA so are the Drug Cartels. The middle East is just a front for profit so Russia and the U.S can invade to get Israel involved China is not apart of the main problem. Congress don't control crap. Fighting a war has never been a top priority of the Iraqi military. Even less to fight an insurgency. What the US and their allies didn’t understand is that not only in Iraq, but in many other countries as well, the military’s prime role has nothing to do with combat:Iraq is a multi ethnic entity. The army is there to keep the country together. Different tribes and religions serving together in the military help to unite the country.The Iraqi armed forces traditionally have a police role. It always was a “checkpoint army” which helped the central government to stay in power.The Iraqi military is also a very important economical factor. They provide an income for many soldiers and their families. Often soldiers join the army just for this reason.Corruption is an essential part of this system and nepotism is not even seen as something negative. Every Iraqi officer first of all thinks about his family, then his tribe and political party. With such a mindset, the interests of the nation are ranked last off all priorities.It should therefore come as no surprise that the Iraqi armed forces are performing so poorly. When affiliation to an ethnic group or political party decides who is getting promoted, capable officers will never reach higher ranks.And one shouldn’t forget that the Iraqi government is perfectly happy with the way their military is working. A stronger, less corrupt and more efficient army would constitute a threat to the central government.
