Are Indians the lost tribe of Israel?
One thing is for sure. If you join THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints, you will become part of the Twelve Tribes Of Israel, whether that is because of heritage, or because you would be "adopted in" so to speak, or a bit of both as the case may be. Normally when Native Americans become members of THE CHURCH Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, and then they get their Patriarchal Blessing, it will be made known to them which of the Twelve Tribes they belong to. Usually it is Manasseh, but sometimes it is Ephraim. Both Manasseh and Ephraim were sons of Joseph of Egypt. Yes there is a lot of evidence that the Native Americans descended partially, from certain Hebrews, along with other groups of people. If you would like to know more about this, contact your local LDS Missionaries, and you can begin the journey to connecting to your ancestry, both in this life, and for eternity. It is very telling that Columbus called Native Americans Indians, not Asians. Columbus was not stupid. Had the Native Americans he encountered looked Asiatic, that is what he would have called them. But to him they looked like people who live in India. And people in India, look a lot like people who live in Iran, Iraq, and also... Israel. Some Native Americans certainly do look Asiatic. On the other hand some look like they could have just come from a country that is near Israel... in fact put a person from Mexico, and put a person from the Middle East side by side, and it is almost impossible to tell the difference until they talk or gesture, in many cases. Mexicans are approximately two thirds Native American and one third Spanish, on the average. Mormons get smeared all the time, and sneered at for believing that Native Americans have a Semitic origin... that is not to discount the Asiatic background of some Native Americans by the way, but certainly there are many cultural similarities between Native American traditions and Hebrew Traditions. When you talk to your local LDS Missionaries, you will receive the gift of The Book Of Mormon The Second Witness Of Jesus Christ. In this book, it will tell you how some Hebrews came to America, and how things developed after they came to America, and how it was that Jesus Christ visited the Native Americans... this on account of their Hebrew ancestry, that Jesus Christ knows about.
