If My Name In My Plane Ticket Is Incomplete Will I Have Problem In Immigration Office

If my name in my plane ticket is incomplete , will I have problem in immigration office?

Should not be a problem, most tickets only display the middle initial. My Brazilian fiancé flew back to Brazil with just her middle initial on her ticket with no trouble, In fact she has four names and only the first and last names plus one initial was used. Have a good flight.

While boarding a flight, will I face any problems if my name on the ticket doesn't fully match my ID proof?

Depends on what the mismatch is. If it is a simple spelling mistake; it should be fine. Remember that airline is NOT the only one concerned about correct names; CISF, BCAS and in some cases state police is also involved.I have been aviation for 19 years, worked at the airport for 4 years and have checked-in tens of thousands of passengers myself. With that experience I am telling you - do NOT take chances. Airlines permit name corrections (like simple misspelling where first name is incorrectly typed. Most call center / counter staff do NOT have the authority to change last name at all).Women have this problem all the time when they change name after marriage. Just because airline staff or security personnel (CISF or police) are nice and cooperative, do not take this for granted. They are in no way obligated to entertain such mistakes. If we cannot spell our name correctly then lets not expect others to bend over backwards for our mistakes. Remember, airport staff have a job to keep as well. Please correct your ticket before you travel. If your agent messed up, ask him to get it corrected at his own cost. If you booked the ticket online and you made a mistake in typing your own name, then you deserve to pay the cancellation charges.Thank you.

Will I face problem as my father's name in my documents differ by a letter than his documents?

Just an affidavit from court will solve the issue if problem arises. That should say that “Raj Kumar” in these documents and “RajaKumar” in those documents is the same person. Publish the name-change in 2 newspapers and keep the papers or that particular page of the newspaper.

What are the best ways to become financially set?

Get a good job. :)

Is it a problem if my Indian passport does not contain a last name?

I am not sure if it will cause a difficulty. But it most certainly will be an inconvenience. When you apply for a DS-160 ( popularly called the non-immigrant VISA), the form makes it mandatory to have a surname. So people in your situation usually resort to putting the entire name ( first-name and the last-name ) in the surname section of this form. As a consequence, you will be issued a VISA with it's first name field as FNU ( First Name Unknown ). Once you get to the US, almost everything you apply to (gas, internet, power) will go by your name in DS-160, since that is the only piece of legal ID you will have here (assuming you are not a citizen of US). Even, opening a bank account will need you to write your name as it appears in DS-160. So you will have FNU in all of your correspondence with the banks, gas company, etc. There are two ways you can fix this. Either fix your passport to reflect the correct values for the 'Given Name' and 'Surname' in the Indian passport if you have sufficient time to do so ( with the Tatkaal scheme you actually do get everything done in at-most two weeks ). Alternatively, you can visit the Indian Embassy here in the US after you reach and get it fixed. The latter approach could be tedious and definitely costs you more money than if you were to do it in India. With my personal experience with this, I can tell you it is definitely better to get it fixed in India, such that your name across all of your documents ( passport, educational marks sheets, health records ) is unambiguous.Good luck.

I have the wrong last name on my flight ticket. The airline refused to change it as the ticket has already been issued. Will it cause any problem during the security check?

If you want to travel safe with no flags raised, I would suggest you to call airline and correct the name. they can cancel ticket and issue a new one for no charge (it was their fault and not yours).I’ve observed that some people are more willing to help than others when you call. If one person refuses to help, hang up and call again till you find the right person to help. In 2–4 tries, you will find a solution. I have changed tickets, altered programs, added extra days and received multiple upgrades (for free) just by finding the right person.Good luck and don't travel on a ticket with wrong name.
