If On Ssi And You Win The Lottery Enough To Buy 1 To 3 So On Homes An You Rent Them Out Will That

If I win the lottery, will that effect my SSI benefits?

Of course it will. SSI, Supplemental Security Income, is the federal WELFARE program. ALL income must be reported and would impact the SSI benefit. If over $20, it would be excess income the month you receive it and you would be ineligible until you spent it down to under $2000.

If you get social security instead (SSI isn't social security) it has no effect.

If on ssi and you win the lottery enough to buy 1 to 3 so on homes an you rent them out will that effect your.?

I have a mother and son on my caseload, both were SSI.
Each one received $50,000 in an accident settlement.
They immediately spent the money. One bought a house, the other took the extended family on vacation, a big vacation.
Social security stopped their SSI. They were astounded.
Their food stamps increased, they still had full Medicaid, "But we have no income." they cried to me.
The mother never worked, and didn't get her SSI until she was over 50 years old, lived off her son's SSI and welfare that whole time.

For those of us familiar with SSI recipients, this question is not, unreasonable, given their thought process.

Do I qualify for section 8 housing; single, with a mental disorder?

Hello. I am a 29-year-old female with crippling mental disorders. Because of mental healthcare costs, none of this has ever been documented and as a result I've been denied for benefits like SSDI. I've recently found out about low-income treatment facilities in my area and plan to take advantage of that, but who knows how long it will be until I am able to receive SSDI. I'm now trying to turn my attention to section 8 for assistance. I've been reading up on it some, but I'm hoping to find someone knowledgeable on the subject to help. Is section 8 only for families, veterans and the like? Would someone who is single and not working be able to get on it? It's probably relevant to tell you I live in the Toledo, Ohio area. I am currently living with family and feel like a burden every day... I just want my own place so that I am out of everyone's hair, but I am mentally unable to work. Please help.

Where/How can I get Section 8 housing quickly, if I'm on SSI/SSDI?

If you qualify for section 8 based on your income, family size and composition you usually go on a long waiting list but there are certain areas in our country with no waiting list at all. If you are willing to relocate you can get section 8 immediatly. To find Section 8 with no waiting list go to Port PageAny other questions or concerns you may have regarding section 8 you can go to Sec8 Information

Is it possible to live without a job? How?

I think it is possible, but I might have a different perspective than what's offered here as another answer. I am 25 and am unemployed, and also living in one of the most expensive places in the world: San Francisco. I am by nature not a complacent person so I will eventually have a career. But for now I am pretty much what you will call scraping by with unemployment benefits and cal fresh food stamps. It's pretty nice. I love not working and my rent and groceries are paid for my money I had paid in taxes to the government. I do have some money in my savings account, which really adds up to three months worth of expenses. It's really not a lot and I am dirt broke, I guess. But, this has allowed me to be and find satisfaction in my current state and situation and has allowed me to live freely: in the moment. I can live off of these tax-payers benefits for an entire year, actually. Once I reduced my overall expenses (for example I really don't eat at expensive restaurants, especially knowing I could go to Whole Foods and get really nice organic groceries with my food stamps; I travel less now) and decided to adopt a minimalistic-state of mind, and focused on living in the moment and being happy, I actually feel very successful and have achieved a standard and idea of happiness and living that most people will never gain. I am actually very well-educated, driven, and am constantly surrounded by really smart and ambitious people. If anything my current joblessness is because I am a "struggling artist" and filmmaker that had made blunders and mistakes along the way, unfortunately. My family looks down on me. Thus, I could do way better. But I live, quite happily within my means and have gained so much satisfaction "struggling." I've changed a lot since finding myself in this situation. I judge much less and am driven to find more genuine relationships, especially since I have nothing, except my body and brain, and the way I think. So it is possible to live life, quite happily, without a job and each situation and circumstance will be different, mostly depending on your background, which then should inform yourself how to carry your life. I for one do not have to clean up after anybody and have all the free time in the world :).

Do you have to have a job to get section 8 housing?

I never said I quit a job, I haven't had a job in about two years. You cant trust everyone with your kid, and things that have happened to me in my past, sadly, I cant trust anyone. The place I am staying, at my parents, neither or their homes are safe for me or my child. In one house, there is a child molester, in the other there is smoking inside and fighting that gets bad almost every single day. The father to my child is not in the picture at all, he doesn't have a job so he cant pay child support, it would get taken from his mom and his mom is struggling to support her family. I understand that any assistance I get, is taken out of the workers pockets. I don't like it but people have to live. Like I said , im not lazy and I do want a job. I just need to figure out what is best for my daughter. a lot of day cares mistreat the kids and I don't want to take a chance on that. And in order to get a job at a daycare, I would have to go to school for that, and I would sti
