If Someone Wants To Be Remain Honest. Can He Survive In This World

Can you succeed in a corrupt world by being honest?

You must make a scientific study of your country's corruption, so that you always know what you're up against. Your advantage is that you're not the only one there who's honest. They will want to meet you and ally with you. And despite others getting the same grades as you, so what? In a few years your grades and theirs won't matter. What you know will matter. And what the ones who cheated will know is nothing--but how to cheat. All through their lives, deep inside they will know they are hollow men. Even if they die wealthy, they will die knowing they brought nothing to the world, and they will be remembered for nothing, and as nothing. Your path will be difficult now. It will become easier later, as you find other honest people to work with. And you will. But never assume honesty alone will work for you. You must SEE around you. In Zen they teach "Mind like Moon in water." That's what you'll need. Free yourself of resentment of the cheaters. It only interferes with progressing along your own path. Honesty is not its own reward. It's just one facet of living with integrity and kindness. And just because you don't cheat that doesn't mean you have to let the cheaters cheat you. I'd say Good luck, but luck isn't what you need.

Why is it so hard to be honest?

Honesty has a power very few people can handle. It takes a lot of courage and self discipline to be honest with self and with others. It's not easy. And if you're really honest, people consider you an alien. You're not normal. On the surface, the concept of honesty seems simple enough. All we have to do is tell the truth in every situation, right? Then why is it that otherwise truthful people will justify distorting the truth in certain situations? If being honest makes life simple then why would anyone purposely complicate things by being even slightly dishonest? Because there are challenges a honest person have to face.Side effects that honest people Face.1. You’ve had countless fights with your close friends and your loved ones over your blunt and straightforward reactions. To them it’s insensitivity and rudeness not honesty!2. Whenever your friends are met with a really grave problem, be it a relationship query or to find out if a new hairstyle is making them look stupid, you’re the first and only person they consult!3. You’re terrible at making a good first impression because you say things so directly that it might shock a person you’re meeting for the first time!4. You find it extremely difficult to be around someone who says great things to people in front of them and abuses them behind their back!6. Relationships are a bit tricky for you because at the start your partner wants you to be brutally honest about everything but after some time that’s what they hate the most about you!7. You have a reputation of “yeh kuch bhi bol sakti/sakta hai” around the people you spend time with especially your colleagues.8. You live a very misunderstood existence because only a handful of people sincerely believe that you giving an honest reaction is for their own good.9. Some of the accusations that have been hurled at you are “heartless” “rude” “ill-mannered” “obnoxious” “snobbish” and “who the hell do you think you are?”10. You know that despite whatever problems your honesty brings, you’re staying true to your heart! Because at least you get to sleep with a clear mind and conscience!10 Problems Brutally Honest People Face All The TimeHonestly, you'll not face any problem if you're being honestly nice to someone. It's when you're being brutally honest or say something honestly which others don't like. And that's when we purposely complicate things by being dishonest even if being honest makes life simple. :)

Honest Army Special Forces wife's life other than him being away?

I have first hand knowledge/experience. I am a former Special Forces soldier and have served at Bragg and will try to answer all your questions.

During attendance of SFQC, you/him would not be able to live on post. He will not qualify for post housing, because he is not permanent party. Basically, he/you would not know whether he would actually be assigned to Bragg (3rd SFG) after SFQC. As to whether you both decide which is better for both of you is really a personal decision. I dont know where you are currently residing and of course you do not know where he will end up, assuming he graduates SFQC. But, I can tell you that your personal support of him while he is going through the training, could be invaluable. He will get some time off, during certain phases/portions of the course, to include some 3-4 day weekends and federal holidays (ie XMAS time frame). My wife accompanied me to Bragg during SFQC but I was already an active duty soldier coming from another Army post (not 18X path).

If he does not get selected (SFAS) for SF training or fails SFQC, he will stay as Infantry (MOS 11B) and be reassigned based on Needs of the Army (NotA). So he could basically go anywhere the Army needs an 11B and not necessarily an Airborne unit. But there is also a good chance he may simply get assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division there on Bragg.

In order to fully answer your questions about differences between SF vs USMC and regular Army life, I need to know are you talking about during SFQC or if he graduates and when assigned to an SF Group?

If you do not take part in support groups, that is your prerogative and would not be looked down upon. My wife NEVER took part in support groups, because she is a very independent and strong women and she didnt want to deal with any potential gossip issues. From the sounds of your post, it seems you are too.

I cannot think of any real other potential problems with your career, other than the intial moving around during his training to become SF. Once he is assigned to an SF Group, he/you will not move around like regular Army. SF only has 5 active duty Groups and once you are assigned to one, you pretty much stay there for most of your SF career, until the higher ranks/pay grades (E-8/E-9).

I will be happy to answer any other questions you may have. Either comment on my reply or update your original question.
