If The Cherokee Tribe And The Lumber Tribe Are Descendants Are They Related

Are Lumbee Indians and Pembroke Indians the same tribe?

I'm trying to do a biography on my family heritage. My mom says that I'm Pembroke Indian, but I can't find any information on that tribe, so I was wondering if the two were the same thing.

Lumbee Native American Names ....?

"Original" ? That would just be English names.

The ancestors of the group now known as "Lumbee" were speaking English when the first Scotch-Irish pioneers pushed into the area around Robeson county in the early to mid 1700s. They have changed their supposed Tribal origin story so many times and fractionalized, that they can't even keep it straight themselves. Is it Algonquin, Croatan, Cheraw, Siouan, Tuscarora, Cherokee? The origin of this people is minimally Native and this is a mixed tribal affilation anyway. They are more of a creole American population with a smidge of Native ancestry than actual descendants of a historical tribe. They have an "Indian" identity for sure, but they are a rather unique case. They had to highlight their "Indian blood" and downplay their mixed White-African ancestry for survival purposes and in response to America's crazy Race Laws back in the day. You can't pinpoint any "original" native names for this group because they have none. The Lumbee ancestors had straight Euro names going back into the earlier part of American history. Any Natives that married into this group did not pass on their languages.

Did the Cherokee and the Blackfoot Indians get along? Did they marry? (mix their different tribes bloods?)?

Yes, at least in family ... I am part Cherokee, Blackfoot and Choctaw ... My Mom's dad was 1/2 Cherokee and 1/2 Blackfoot. Moms Mom is half Choctaw.
