If the government under the Articles was so ineffective, why weren’t changes made?
The national military would not allow changes to the Articles. There was no method by which changes to the Articles could be made. All the states had to agree in order to pass an amendment to the Articles. A court would have to approve any change to the Articles and there was no court. please help asap :(
How did the constitution "correct " the weaknesses of the articles of confederation?
The united states constitiution basicly took some power back away from the states. When the AOC was written the colonists were very fearful of becoming what they had saught to remove themselves from; a monarchy. To do so they created a very powerful state system, taking away from the federal government. The constitution undid this, giving the fed's the power to tax its citizens and deal with national defense. The only real lasting acheviment of the AOC was the Northwest ordinance, which held up as the sole way of annexing and affirming statehood of new territories.
