If The Grandfathers Of Everyone Who Is Alive Today Were Alive How Old Would The Oldest One Be

Is there anyone alive today who knew someone from the 1700s?

While not impossible, it is extremely unlikely that someone today knows someone who was born in the 1700s. Anne Neve who was born in 1792 was the last person born in the 18th century. She saw France go to from a monarchy to empire during the French Revolution. She vividly remembered the “troubled times” of Napoleon Bonaparte’s leadership and even met him. She died in 1903 just witnessing the dawn of the 20th century. There is an estimated 300–450 supercentarians alive in the world right now. For someone to be old enough to know and remember Neve they would need to be born between 1899–1901 which would make them around 117–119 years old today. The oldest person today as of 2018 is Chiyo Myako who is 117. There are possibly hundreds of undocumented supercentarians alive right now and one of them could’ve met Anne, this is all wishful thinking though. While its not impossible, it would be extremely unlikely.

How old is your great grandfather?

uhhh
my Polish grandfather was born in 1838, meaning that his father AT BEST was born 1818 but probably before. So, that would put him at about the 200+ mark, except for the stiffness.
Grandpa was almost 70 when my mom (his youngest child from 2nd marriage) was born, and she was born 1909.

Important point here.. a title is not very valid in generational thinking. Generations can be as little as 20 yrs between parent to child, but can be much much more, especially when talking the guys. The generation measure for women is limited by age of childbearing, which does not apply to the guys.

Are your grandparents still alive? How old are they?

My great-grandmas alive and shes 99

Are there any known children of American slaves alive today?

This particular scenario would be very rare, and may not exist today. However, there is a situation where a very old African American woman may have had a parent that was born right at the end of the Civil War to slave parents, and thus could have been technically a slave for for maybe less than a year or a very, very brief period of time. Jeralean Talley is 115. She was born in Montrose GA in 1899. Her parents were Samuel Kurtz and Amelia Jones. LAURENS NATIVE IS THE OLDEST PERSON IN THE UNITED STATESIt is known that Jeralean's grandfather, Andrew Kurtz, was a slave. It is quite likely that all of her grandparents were slaves, actually. This is based on their location and the historical demographics - the free status population in Georgia at that time period was 0.3%! Not very good odds of being free. So, if you look at the 1870 Census, you can find Samuel Kurtz living with his parents - he is about age 5. There can be some variance in ages during Census enumeration, but his estimated birth year would be about 1864-5. Samuel Kurtz in household of Andrew Kurtz, "United States Census, 1870"That was right at the end of Slavery and it is quite possible he was technically born a slave himself. I could find no written confirmation of this, but it is a potential scenario to explore further.

Is there anyone alive today whose parents were born in the 1800s?

There are many people alive today who had parents were born in the 1800’s. Think about it. There are people alive now (in 2017) who are 85 years old or older. These people were born around 1932. Obviously, some of these people’s parents were older than 32 when their children were born and were therefore born in the 19th century. In fact, until VERY recently we had people still living who themselves were born in the 1800’s. 117-year-old Italian woman Emma Morano, who Just died in April 2017, was born in 1899 and was thought to be the last living human being born in the 1800s. Of course, one never knows when another contender may surface. If one does, proper documentation (such as birth records) would have to be presented for the claim to be taken seriously.Emma Morano - Wikipedia

What age were you when the last of your grandparents generation died? (including great aunts / great uncles)?

I was 27 when my last great aunt died (my grandmother's sister).
The last of your grandparents generation could be either a grandparent or the sibling of a grandparent. Is it a turning point when your grandparents generation is all dead? Does it mean your old?
