If The Head Office At Tesco Decide To Give Me A Refund How Will I Receive It

Why did my debit card refund take 2 weeks? My bank pointed the finger at the retailers, while the retailers claimed it was both the bank and the credit card company holding up the refunds.

There are a few different possibilities but the most likely cause of the delay falls on the merchant's side of the equation. From a purely technical perspective, a debit card refund can be processed just as fast as a debit card purchase transaction, which will be reflected in your checking account balance immediately and with transaction details in 1-3 days. Once the merchant completes processing ("settlement") of the refund transaction, everything else is automated so its not likely that your bank did anything to delay posting to your account. However, whereas the original purchase transaction ultimately resulted in a credit to the merchant's account, the refund transaction took money out. Accordingly, the merchant must: a) Have sufficient funds in his account to cover the refund, and b) Be motivated to process your refund quickly. If either is not true, the merchant may elect to delay settlement. Visa operating rules require the merchant to complete settlement within five calendar days from the date the refund is requested by you and authorized by the merchant (e.g. the date you return the product to the store and get a return receipt) and MasterCard requires settlement within one day. If you made your purchase at a major merchant, there's no good reason for a delay of two weeks but, if you're not satisfied with the service, you can complain to the merchant or the card network (i.e.. Visa, MasterCard) that placed its logo on your card but I doubt that there's much to be gained from that sort of complaint and, therefore, wouldn't recommend that you spend any more of your valuable time pursuing one.

Do you think I could sue if I found a bug inside my Hostess apple pie?

It was brand new, unopened and not expired. I had eaten half of it not even looking at it, and for some reason before I took that next bite something dark caught my eye and there was a large winged bug baked right into the middle of the filling. Needless to say I didn't take it well. And the whole experience gave me an anxiety attack.

My friend says I should save the pie, contact a lawyer and sue. I personally think that finding a WHOLE BUG in the middle of a pie is just ridiculous. Hostess should have standards that prevent things like that from happening. I mean that's a brand anyone would trust. WTF? Why do these things happen to me?!?! Goodness knows I can never eat another Hostess pie again.

Who can I contact re faulty mattress(UK)?

To cut a long story short:
Bought a Silent Night Double Mattress from Tesco Direct in Nov 2010 for my daughter.
One side of the mattress has dropped 3.5 ins making it uncomfortable.
Contacted Tesco who sent furniture examiner.
They were off hand and immediately said it was because my daughter had been sitting on bed to watch TV....I told her first she didn't, she only watched TV in bed and second even if she had the mattress was only 9 months old.
She reported spring padding compressed and told me I should have turned mattress, I told her(and just double checked their site) it said mattress doesn't need turning, she said that meant turned over but I should have turned it clockwise.
Tesco came back to me said the engineer reported there were no manufacturers faults it had been sat on and not turned.
I emailed them and pointed out all facts.
They wrote back and uphold their decision.
I was going to go to Trading Standards but just visited their site and it says they won't interveen between parties and they can't get refunds. Does anyone have any ideas who I can go to as I am furious about this?

Why won't my parents let me buy designer clothes (boys)?

I'm a 15 year old boy and so i don't have much money. My friends tell me to get some designer 'nice' clothes, but unless i go shopping with my mum, i can't buy nice clothes in designer shops, and i feel embarrassed when my mum comes into town with me because she stands in the middle of the shop telling me how expensive everything is.

I really want to buy some nice designer hoodies and maybe t-shirts but im worried she won't let me when i ask and will embarress me.
Even shops like primark feel out of reach because i don't have much money at all and i've already got a job but it barley pays me anything and it would take forever to save my money up plus i don't get pocket money. My mum only buys me clothes from BHS and tesco. It's not a money issue becuase we're not poor.
what should i do to be able to buy some nice clothes because if i just go and ask my mum for £50 she'll clearly say no even though i get top grades in every class and am very well behaved. how should i convince my parents to let me have some money to buy my own clothes?

Can I sue drugstore for selling expired cough drops?

Except in some cases involves governmental entities, you can sue almost any party, provided it is done in a timely fashion (i.e. within 2 years of the date of injury in most states). The real question is whether or not you have sustained actual damages and to what extent. You don't mention an injury or whether or not you even ingested a cough drop.

In this case, it would likely take more time and effort for you to pursue a legal remedy than not. Next time, look at the package more closely.
