If This Were A Book Or Short Story Would You Read It Be Honest

How is reading fun? I honestly don't get it.?

Some people read for fun, but I've always wondered how they could sit for hours on end reading a book full of words, that is literally the most boring thing ever! I want to get myself into reading but I simply can't bring myself to do it! Any help guys?

Do you prefer to read stories in printed books or e-books?

Like everyone else, I grew up reading printed books but honestly I prefer ebooks. I feel like people who prefer paperback choose it solely for the nostalgia of that new or old book smell. It’s either that or a feeling of superiority. You have to admit that shelves and shelves of books are impressive. I honestly don’t care about any of that. I mean have any of you had the displeasure of reading an old second hand book that someone else left questionable stuff in between the pages? Ebooks don’t give me that problem.I have a kindle paperwhite and these reasons are why I prefer it.1.The DisplayMy kindle does not have an LED screen but still has a backlight in case I need it. The screen also has a soft almost paperlike feel to it.2. Ease of AccessI move a lot. I travel a lot. I may have loved print books more if I didn’t have to go through a purge every time I have to move. My kindle lets me carry my whole library of books without any need for sad farewells and donations to friends and family.Furthermore, I’ve lived on tiny islands with no bookstores and outdated libraries. I live in a small city now with overpriced bookstores. Ebooks let me read without the effort of ordering and waiting weeks for a book I want, as well as paying customs tax and extra shipping for where I live.3. Distractions are avoidable if you want to.Regardless of if you have an e-reader or if you’re using a multipurpose phone or tablet, it’s very easy to turn on airplane mode and get lost in a book sans distractions.Furthermore, battery life on ebook readers are tremendous. They can last up to a month in some cases. Besides, with our technologically connected world it’s incredibly easy to keep a charge on your device.4. The EnvironmentLet's be real, the paper industry is terrible for the environment. I feel a million times better knowing that my avid reading is better for the environment now that I read on my kindle almost exclusively. At this point there is no contest. The only exceptions I make for reading printed books is if they are old and not yet available electronically or if someone gave me a book to read. Everything else is online: my textbooks for school, old books I own, books written by friends, academic papers, books I’m borrowing from amazon, samples of books I may want to read, lecture slides, everything. I can highlight, bookmark, and make notes anywhere and easily find them later. Ebooks are the future.

Are the Twilight books worth reading?

Hey there, I'm not gonna go bashing Twilight and I'd really like to give you my honest opinion.

First of all I'm also a HUGE Harry Potter fan! (can you believe the final part of the 7th movie has come out!? Eek!)

And I've only had time to read the 1st Percy Jackson book and I loved it.

I've also read the Twilight series,

Twilight (to be put in short) is a romance story. The characters mostly think with their hearts and not with their brains. Love plays a huge part into this plot.

If you're looking for an exciting story line or a thrilling adventure, then this series is not your time.

If, however, you're looking for a love story to fill up your time, this is perfect.

For me, I did not enjoy Twilight. Like I said, I will not bash it because I think you should form your own opinion about the book.

Anyway, do what you want:) Good luck!

Would you read this? Honest answers please!?

Ok tell me your honest opinion. I am trying to write a story, and i am wondering if this is a Preface that makes you want to keep reading. PLEASE tell me your HONEST opinion. I can take negatives and positives. Thanks.

Preface

If I told you my name was Danielle Patricks would that ring a bell? My story was all over the radio, television and news. Revealed without my consent. All I could remember were the flash backs of pain. Blood everywhere, a body laying on the floor, tears filling my eyes. That was before we ran. Before we changed our names, and fled into the deep woods of Aberdeen, Washington. I never realized that the person I trusted the most, would turn out to deceive me. Would try to kill me. Just like the others.

How many books have you read till date? How much can you read in a day?

How many books read till date? I have no idea, honestly. I am addicted to written words and it isn’t attractive.I read; a lot and all kind of things - Your common whys-whos & whens , Wikipedia articles, Fanfiction, stories and novels written by first timers on whattpad and other forums, poetry, and of course lots and lots of mainstream fiction by popular and semi-popular writers. The only kind of books that I actively avoid are the so called ‘Motivational Books’. I’ve even read brochures and privacy policies simply because I could. But that’s my talent and not documenting. If someone asks me with a particular name, I can (most probably) confirm whether I’ve read it or not and it ends there. Many a times I forget the book or story’s name, or when did I read it or where (in case of online reading i.e.) and it’s messy but that’s how it is with me. If I could do this one thing (document what I’ve read) Goodreads would be nicer to me :)I must have read a few hundred by now… if not thousand as the affair with reading has been going on for long (more than 15 years I think!) and I read so many text posts on Tumblr and Pintrest too (Gosh! I know). Plus I have good reading speed. My particular point of pride is when I finished entire 600+ pages of Goblet of Fire in 5 days while managing school (7+hours with commute) Homework, maths tuition and your usual teenager things simultaneously. That’s how dedicated I am once I get hooked. I have finished 2 books in a day with breaking sweat (Coz they were that meh!), one book a night is pretty normal for me and dedicated slow reads too.I can and have read for 12+ hours in a day. Some of my favourite titles :Harry Potter (series), A Marauder era fanfic, Little Women, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Alice in Wonderland, Pride and Prejudice, Gulliver’s Travels, Mirror Cracked from Side to Side, Sophie’s World, The Prophet, 1984 and Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Love Story, Acts of Faith… I should stop. The list is way too long.P.S - this probably isn’t the answer you were looking for but this is what reading is for me. Thank you for the A2A, I loved answering this

I desprestly want to write a book?

I have always wanted to write. I think it is time that i start writing a book because now is the time when i have found the most passion for it. Part of the reason why i think it is is becasue i just finished reading the phenomonal TTwilight series by Stephenie Meyer and i loved the way she wrote it
there are a few reasons..
1. I fell in love with one of the main characters and am still just as in love with him
2. I can relate to the characters, even though most of them are vampires and warewolves
3. there has not been a day that goes by that i dont think of those books and how i wish i could write something like that
4. I don't know....it is just soooo irresistable i cannot stand it!!!1

I want to write a book but unlike stephenie i hardly ever dream and if i do i never remember them. I am a very creative person and have written many possible ideas for books i want to write, but i cannot imagine the characters in my head...Is it just not time to write yet?
