If You And A Friend Had An Interview For The Same Job Would You Try Helping Each Other

I failed a job interview and I am feeling awful right now. What should I do in the future?

Congratulations! You have created one pillar of success. I can explain you with a real life example.Five of my friends went to Bangalore after graduating from college. They were searching for jobs and applied everywhere. All of them were of similar caliber and from same background. After two weeks, they all went for a job interview and one person out of these got selected. The other four felt very much rejected. In two months, four out of five friends got an offer. The only one who was left to get a job offer was feeling dejected. He appeared in all the job interviews with these friends, yet failed all the interviews. But with each interview he found new gaps in his knowledge and worked on it.After 3 months, he got an interview call. Although he was tired of appearing for interviews, he prepared well for it. He went and attended the interview. Due to his continuous preparation, his interview well and he was given an offer. When he saw the offer, he could not believe. It was the offer double in amount than all other four friends. He was puzzled and called me. After talking with him, I figured out that with each failure in interview, his knowledge level kept increasing. In the end, when he went for the last interview, his performance was so much beyond expectation that company considered him to be an experienced professional. Therefore, gave him one of the highest offers!!!IMHP, till you appear for 50 interviews and spend 6 months, do not feel dejected. So go on, once again prepare well.Follow me at Gautam Gupta if you would like to read more stories on success in life.

My friend and I applying for the same job?

Dress professional. No jeans, no sneakers, go light on makeup (if you wear any), don't wear facial piercings, and make sure you are clean and showered. That all might sound obvious to you, but to some people it isn't, so I figure I should tell you anyway. As for how to dress, wear something business-like, such as black slacks (or even khakis will do if you don't have those), dress shoes/heels, and a nice button-up shirt. It is nearly impossible to overdress for an interview, and how you dress is a huge indication of how dedicated you are to getting the job, and keeping it once you have it.

Bring your resume (if you have one). If you don't have one, use Google to find some templates for teen resumes. They wont expect you to have much experience, but it's a good way to share any skills you may have, and any extracurriculars you've participated in.

I would say to have references, but it's hard to do that on such short notice, and your teacher referred you, so that should be fine.

Good luck!

How do you sell yourself in an interview?

I know all the interview questions and how to answer them according to my experience. How do I beat out all the other applicants who is also interested in the same position as me and get selected to round 2? I never seem to get selected to go to the second round.

Do you think I bombed the interview?

Today, I had a interview for a entry-level position, that one of my friends got for me. (He's the assistant manager there...) and I can tell you, I don't think I did all that well.
I'm never any good at interviews, and I can say that I didn't do all to well for this one either. I hardly made eye contact, rambled on about things, and at some point I feel I didn't answer the questions to the best of my ability. I mean, I was just throwing sh*t out there. Afterwards, my friend, told me that he talked to the manager and had heard a few things. He said that "I don't think you did too well..."
I just wanted to know what you guys thought. I mean I'm trying my hardest to be positive, but I don't know if I should waste my time...

I have given 5 interviews and failed in all of them. I've been unemployed for over a year. I feel very lonely and unworthy. I'm suicidal. What should I do? How do I regain hope?

I worked for a construction firm for a year and I hated the job. I quit and started sending out my resumes to the jobs that did interest me. In about 2 months, I had applied to 120+ jobs. I got 10-20 automated replies : "Thank you for applying. We will get back to you."I got 4-5 personal replies : "NOT APPLICABLE"I tried following up with the rest and didn't get any response from most of them. However, some of them told me that I wasn't suitable for such a job profile due to my 1 year experience in a different domain. ( They weren't convinced that they could hire me as a fresher). In other words, my first job was the reason I couldn't go pursue a job in a field of my interest. Then one day, I got a response from a reputed consulting firm. They asked me to come down for the written test. I cleared the written test and was asked to prepare for the other rounds ( Behavioral Interview + Case interview + personal interview + Principal Interview). After a week, I was informed that the position has been filled and that they would keep my application on hold for a while.I had lost all hope and started preparing for the MBA exams. After 2 months, I received a mail asking me if I was still interested in attending the interviews. I prepared for a day and cleared the case study round. After this, I felt confident through out the interview process, cleared all the rounds and I got the offer letter. It's been almost a year and I love my job :)One thing which helps is asking friends for referrals. That way you manage to prepare specific to the company you are applying to. You may clear the 6th interview you attend. All the best !

Interview Questions?

I would say that success is when you achieve your desired goal
i.e worked hard for exams and passed with great grades or worked hard for a promotion and got it because of your ability.
Adverse situation in personal life could be loss of a loved one, severe illness in you or friend/relative. In professional life could be being made redundant, having to accept some-one promoted ahead of you with less ability.
How you dealt with it in personal life, talked it thro with friend/counsellor, helped out family members,. In Professional life...loss of job made you rethink career..get a better job..retrain. Promotion..made you try even harder at job to get recognized...realised that life can be unfair and you just have to get on with it to the best of your ability...asked boss what you could improve on without being critical of other person.
Just examples..use your own or make them up!
A good position is interesting, rewarding and permanent. An excellent one is challenging, credit given for a job well done. promotion prospects and learning new skills ways of working from talented people
