If You Are A C Student Should You Go To College I

How do I go from a C student to an A student?

I never really cared about school... I haven't cared until recently. I think I'm failing Geometry and Chemistry! College got my attention! I need to bring my Grades up! How can I stop procrastinating homework? How can I retain the things I study? How can I bring my grades up? How can I pay better attention in class? And last but not least: I am a sophomore right now... Is it to late to get my grades up and get into a good college? Thanks!!!!

Can a "C" student get into college?

You definately can. You're third and fourth year in highschool count the most, so place your best effort. Also, it's not just about grades, but your involvement in school and outside, Extra curricular activities could really pollish up your transcript, and the university will see that you're a well rounded student. That's always a plus.

I'm a C student, what colleges would take me?

Okay, I'm a C student. well not straight C's. i have A's in a few classes like History, French, English and a few more. but i have C's in plenty.. my GPA dropped since i slacked horribly my sophomore year. but i play sports, and do an extra curricular all year round. i play field hockey, manage one of the most hectic teams in the school, and run track. i go to most of the walks, and cleanups. i join the school programs. is there any kind of good-ish college that would accept me?

Can you still get into college with a C minus grade?

Yes, you still can get into college with a C-. It will be an average college for an average student. But, you will find if you do that you probably have no idea of what you want to do in your life. That means you have no drive, no ambition, no good models in or about to show you that college can improve your life.

College can give you a career instead of a job. College can expose you to the world as a whole. College will help you get out of a C- way of thinking and put you into a A- or higher way achieving better grades for a better life. College will introduce you thinking how smart you are instead of training you and your mind into thinking small. College will put you in touch with people who will show you the way up instead of the way down. It is in your hands. Do the right thing. It is your choice right now. Good luck.

Why do people make it okay to be a "C" student?

Because average is perfectly okay.I ended high school with a 3.75 GPA. Not stellar, but not too bad.I had mostly A’s. I had a few B’s. I had a few C’s.My C’s were in classes that I’m not naturally inclined to- science and math. Those classes require extra effort for me to do well in them. I got D’s and F’s on my math tests, because the content didn’t stick in my brain. I got A’s and B’s on the homework and quizzes because I only had to know a little information to do well; give me a cumulative test with lots of information, and I flop.I was average in math and science. That’s okay.I got A’s in English, history, and theatre. These are classes that come naturally to me. I love spending hours editing essays and reading books. Memorizing dates and names isn’t difficult for me.I was excellent in these classes. I’m proud of that.I also recognize that I took honors or IB for all of my classes. I took the hardest version of every class, and sometimes I was average. Had I been in a regular class, I would have been above average. It’s all subjective.I was also well above grade level in math (Calc 2 my senior year). I’m not saying that to brag; I’m saying that for context. I was in a higher level of math. For someone who’s pretty bad at math, it’s amazing I got a C in that class at all.No one is excellent at everything. If a C is average, then I’m perfectly happy with being average. Outside of school, I can’t think of a career that requires me to be stellar in all subjects. In the real world, we specialize. I don’t need to be above average in everything. There are people who get C’s in everything. What’s wrong with being average in every school-tested subject? Maybe that person excels at shooting, or mechanics, or rock climbing. Maybe their speciality isn’t in a school. Does that mean they’re just “average”? No. They have skills. It’s just not something penned on a report card.C’s are perfectly fine. Someone has to be the average.

How can you go from being a C student to an A student in university?

Well the simple answer is study...but I'm guessing if you're asking this question telling someone to study is about as useful as telling a cat to learn to play piano. So here are some more concrete suggestions:1. Show up to Every Class. Yeah they typically don't take attendance in college, but you obviously aren't acing the class so one of the best things you can do is actually go to class.2. Take Notes While in Class. Key ideas, formulas, questions, etc. Anything that might make for a good test question is worth writing down. Just the simple act of writing can help you to better remember what was said in class.3. Ask Questions. If there is something you don't understand, ASK! It's the entire point of being in school is to learn...being quiet because you think it might be a dumb question is one of the worst things to do. IF you are self-conscious about it, go to the professor during office times to clarify what you don't understand.4. Study/Join a Study Group. If you don't know how to study, join a study group to learn how. Surprisingly, there is actually some work involved in learning...it's not a passive process. Go over your notes, re-read the assigned chapters, do the sample problems. Anything to learn the material.5. Learn to Maximize Points. Read the syllabus and look at the assignments and tests for an idea on what is worth the most. Make sure to put more of your effort into the higher point total items so you can maximize your time. If there are 500 pts in the class, don't struggle on a 5pt assignment when you have a 75 pt project due, get that done first. If you still don't know how to do this, ask one of the people in your class on what to do.6. If you are still struggling after these points, then go talk to the professor about what's holding you up or go to the school tutoring center to ask for assistance. There are plenty of people with tips on what to do to get better at learning. The key point to this however is that you have to go DO something, people aren't going to do it for you.

Is being a "C" student a bad thing?

Don't listen to what everybody says. One C is not going to hurt you, medical school understands that you have more than one class and that on top of that you are volunteering at local hospitals and research. But if you continue getting C's then its going to look bad on your GPA and it could hurt your chances of getting accepted into med-school because competition is fierce there. You are going to be competing with students holding GPAs not lower than 3.5 and nearly perfect MCAT scores.

Keep working hard if you want to go to Med/Law/Grad school aim for a 3.0 and higher.
I recently finish my first year with a 3.9 and although i know classes are going to get tougher i know i will be able to survive because i love science and helping people. (is a matter of how bad you want to become a medical doctor not how hard classes are going to be)

GOOD LUCK!
