If You Had 3 Tvs Which All Had Very Similar Specs But There Was A Sony Panasonic And Samsung .

Which brand of tv is the best? vizio, panasonic, lg, samsung, sony, toshiba,, rca?

STOP!

First - Vizio is not a great brand.

Second - you mention 'DVD'. This is a 70 year old standard designed for a nine-inch screen. Displaying it on a fifty-inch high def display shows you the limits of this old, old standard.

Third - did you calibrate your display or leave it at factory settings?

Fourth - are you hooked up to the TV with an HDMI cable or a standard def cable?

Fifth - Did you set your PS3 to output 1080?

Get a Pixar BluRay disk. Wall*E, or Cars or the new 'Brave' that just came out. Pop this into your PS3 (hooked up with a HDMI cable). Go to the disk setup menu and you will find test-patterns and instructions for setting the basic Brightness, Contrast and Color on your new TV.

Once you have done this -watch some HD for a day and play some games for a day before you decide to return the unit. DO NOT WATCH STANDARD DEF!

BETTER TELEVISIONS

Since you are a gamer - you probably want a Plasma display instead of a LCD panel. (Dont get me started - just trust me.)

The Panasonic Viera is probably the best unit on your list. The Samsung plasma would be a second choice.

If you went with LCD - you want 120 hz refresh to reduce motion blur. (This may be why you do not like your Vizio - it is only 60 hz and probably has motion blur issues when playing games.)

You want to avoid RCA, Hisense, Insignia, Dynex.

LG has a few good models and a lot of crappy ones and I dont know enough about the models to advise you.

Adjust your television like I described before giving up on the Vizio. I am not a fan of Vizio, but if you do not hook things up properly and adjust things - you wont be happy with any television.

Good Luck.

Which TV brand should one buy, Sony vs Samsung vs LG vs Philips?

Note-1: To a normal TV viewer all TVs are OK so long it fits the price band & nothing to really worry about. The following comments are relevant to only those who have “eye” for technical detailsNote-2: Service performance levels of each brand may vary from each region & excluded in opinion forming/framing.Sony is the leader in the TV segment & wins hands down. Its sound quality is par excellent than its competitors. Generally picture & sound do not get complemented due to certain design element challenges, however, Sony seems to have found to synchronize them !!Samsung is the next. In fact, Sony sources its critical parts from SamsungLG is the next. LG also supplies critical parts to PhilipsPhilips - now longer the original Philips for it now outsourced to TV Vision (similar story like that of Nokia where only name is given) but the original Philips TV team branched out forming a separate company as TV VisionThe sleeping brand Panasonic now suddenly woken up again & offering equally brilliant models. Due to less sound bytes in the market, its name has not re-awakened its die-hard fans of yester years. Its DX 900 / DX 902 performs quite well above equivalent Korean models

Sony, Samsung, Yamaha or Panasonic surround sound?

Hi Dorf...Throw a coin......Yamaha....Cheers!

Does Samsung or Sony make better HDTVs?

The specs on both are very comparable; either should be a fine TV. Samsung consistently gets the best professional and owner reviews in Consumer Reports evaluations, so that would be my choice.

If you do opt for a Samsung, consider buying it or one like it at Costco instead of Best Buy, if Costco is an option for you. Costco carries an assortment of Samsung models, and their big advantages over Best Buy are (1) a hassle-free return policy of 90 days, (2) a year of phone tech support, and (3) they double the manufacturer's warranty at no extra cost. I've used the phone support and the extended return option with past purchases, and they both work well. (No, I don't get anything for saying all that.)

Other than that, you probably wouldn't go wrong with either one of the two you've cited.

Which TV should I buy? VU or LG or Samsung?

I used 3 different brands of led tv’s and music systems.. Based on my experience i will go for more reliable brands than marketed brands. I had LG 47 inch led tv, co brother owned LG 42 inch tv and my brother had Samsung tv.And all tv was 100hz one.. Apart from these we owned Sony home theater and brother had lg home theater .My native home we had panasonic music system as well and my close friend has 55inc Panasonic led tv. Experience as follows… My LG TV started giving no signal issue within 3 years and got repaired spending 4 k. The experience of customer service from LG was pathetic.. It ran another 1 year and this time motherboard gone.. Got repaired by spending 11K from no authorized vendor since LG was charging 35K for replacement of motherboard.. Again another 9months got problem with picture as it shows inverted color image.. Cost for service quoted by LG is 26K..Finally i sold it for 6K and baught Panasonic 55inch led tv.. Panasonic experience is so far soo good.please note that TV is connected to high reliable stabilizers and UPS all the time operated. My co brother LG LED TV thrown issue with screen as its started giving white dots over screen within 2 and half years. My brother samsung 47 inch TV dead due to motherboard problem and LG home theater stopped working due to motherboard and ic issue. All Korean brand stuffs dead within 3–4 years.. As i mentioned i owned Sony DAV-DZ777 home theater used very roughly without any stabilizers…I used 10 years and got bored of it and sold to my friend.. Its still working without any problem.. I went with Yamaha sound bar, it's been soo good soo far.. My friend panasonic TV crossed 8 long years without even a single niggle.. My Native home panasonic music system still running without any issues…Now when it comes to LED TV clarity, LG is slightly better with 1080p images compared to samsung and sony however cannot rely on this LG and Samsung brand . Sony is very reliable brand but it will make big hole in your pocket if any repairs occurs because sony service and spare parts are insanely costlier. I had similar experience with my LG refrigerator as it worked well only 3 years and started giving issues, i will post details about refrigerator and washing machine in seperate blog… So only panasonic is the left out option as a more reliable brand in terms of picture quality, sound, life and service compared to Sony, LG, Samsung etc.. Again this review is strictly based on my personal experience
