If You Had The Money Could You Buy A Team Of Game Developers Without Having The Knowledge Of Gaming

How can I submit a video game idea to developers?

Do not consider the next few lines as quite personal.Suppose I am an AAA game developer. And you mailed me your idea. Now the questions that come to my mind:Who are you?  -  I ask for the qualifications if I think you to be a real one. Else, I will delete it, Why?, because you would write- "I have an awesome idea about a game, and I am quite sure of its success. Please contact me for the deal." I will put it in spam. And if you write, "Here is my plan for a game- ..........." Well, I might read it and if I like it, what is the finality whether I give you the ownership rights; I might adapt it, without even mentioning your name. So, don't email them. Now you think of blogging or publishing it on the net. Don't do it. With high levels of piracy, no one who likes your idea will contact you back, and one fine day, you may see your idea in a game !!!So how to do it ??? It is a rare thing. But you have to be diligent, and a bit of lucky too!!! You can try one of these methods:Find a professional with a startup, or in a gaming company. Try searching a social networking site, or go to LinkedIn. Talk with the person, and see if it comes through.Mail them ( not with the language I mentioned above, but with a persuasive one, and try to make sure they contact you. And if this mail is recommended or sourced by a professional in their company, it has higher chances of getting through. The best method- make a prototype and own the copyrights. Attach a notice that it is saleable though ( or anything they call in technical terms ) and your contact number or e-mail address as well. They will contact you if they are interested. And the best of the best methods- Make the game yourself and sell it at Indie stores online. You will get what you want- money, recognition, and satisfaction.Good Luck !!!

How do I start a game development company without any knowledge?

If you see it as any other business and from a inverter’s perspective, you don't really need all the hands on knowledge to start and run a game development company. Investors don't necessarily hold the knowledge of the domain where they invest. They only need to find that right team with who they can trust their money. Assuming you have the seed fund and a fair amount of money to burn say for a year or so, you are going to need to find a competent team who can run it for you. So yes, in short you don't need the full knowledge to run this business but I will certainly recommend you study the basics of this business and how it operates so you know where you generate your revenues and returns from. But If you are asking this purely from a technical stand point, then I don't think its a good idea to start a game development company without obtaining the necessary knowledge in first place as the chances of staying afloat or succeeding is slim.

How do you convince your parents that buying games on Steam is safe?

Valve, the company that made Steam, are one of the most respected software companies in the world. Gabe Newell, one of the founders once worked for Microsoft. Billions of transactions happen over steam and to my knowledge there have been no cases of fraud or theft using the steam system. If you can't trust such a respected company for security, then there is no-one to trust. I buy over steam once a month every time I get paid. In fact, I bought Team fortress 2 not two days ago.
Transactions happen on steam but they also happen on ebay, amazon plenty of bookstores and every shop that allows for online ordering.
The parents of your friend are right to be paranoid, but there is such a thing as being overly cautious. However, there is another way. Christmas is coming up and if you wanted to, you could buy the game for your friend using Steams "Give the gift of game" by buying a game but sending it to him. Either that or you can tell him about that and ask him to give you the money for it.
