If You Had To Sell Me On Kijiji What Price And Description Would You Give Me

How can I be more successful on Kijiji? What should I do to increase the number of visits on my ad and eventually make a profitable sale?

Better pictures help things sell for higher. YouTube and other for pay sites have great, fast tutorials on light control on a budget. I've been selling online and the number one thing that can control how much a buyer will pay, other than your online reputation, is the photo. As for description and how the sale came to be, I would put just enough to get the point across. No one wants to read an essay. Use big, clear font, well organized (ordered lists and or bullet points). Concentrate your description as much as possible without omitting important information.  Lastly, scarcity will be a huge factor in your success. there may be a better venue than kijiji for local selling in your locale. Double check to see if Facebook, Craigslist, etc are viable venues for where you live. As for me, in Orange County California, Craigslist will get any apple product sold in hours for me. Kijiji just isn't that hot in the OC. Good luck!

When you sell a product on Kijiji or eBay, should you include the tax in the listing price?

A2AMany stores include taxes when they resale new items for profit. Smaller second hand shops/ on-line garage sale/ people selling stuff to clean their closet don’t charge taxes. However, there is always a way to program taxes to be added to the final cost as a separate field next to the subtotal. Keep it separate making it easy for buyer to understand the tax concept - LOL!

Can this be a scam on kijiji?

I first time got an e-mail because I put some furniture for sale on kijiji. The first time I got an e-mail, it was written in a very very...sophisticated and ordered manner. But still had a feeling that it is a scam. The e-mail ''title'' was the person's name. However when I look at my previous history of selling, the e-mail title is always something like ''kijiji reply'', or something like that. Then I got 2 other e-mails that were insanely similar to the one that I first got. Here's the e-mail I first got:

''i am interested in buying your (item ) and i would like to know it's present condition,if it's still in good condition any picture available? what is your last asking price and I would appreciate to conclude this deal within this shortest period of time.I would also prepare a pick-up with a shipping company to do the pick-up from your home to my house ok as i look to have a good business relationship with you . I am willing to buy your Item and willing to pay with money order or certified check,

Pls let me know how to proceed?''

then heres the second e-mail that I got:

''Hello seller,..I saw your item posted for sale on Kijiji ,do you
still have it available for sale?.what's your asking price and phone#
to reach you because am ready to buy it now ...Thank you .''

then the third one:

''
I am interested in buying your item i will like to know its present
condition if it still in good condition any picture
available? and the asking price also i would appreciate to conclude
this deal within this shortest period of time.
I will be responsible for the pick-up, my shipping company to do the
pick-up from your home to my house k as i look to have a good
business relationship with you.''

I sent a reply to each of them saying ''please send me your contact number so I can reach you''. I dont usually give out my phone number out like that. Also, the second e-mail that I got, I got the same email twice. My senses tell me that it's a scam. What do you think?

Scams on Kijiji?

I have an item for sale on kijiji and think one of the replies I got may be a scam. This is what the response was: "hello, thanks for your quick response.. and also you do not know how happy i am to know that this item is still for sale, i am okay with the fixed price so i will like to proceed this transaction to the payment.. i will be paying through money order which you can cash immediately without any delays... if this is ok by you get back to me with your full name, full home address, city, state, zipcode and also your phone number so we talk more on phone... so that payment can be issue out with out any delays... But redarding the shippment i will like it to be a pick up so you do not need to worry about the shippment of this item... i await your fast response." The thing that made me think this right off the bat was the fact that they asked for a state and zip code...I live in Canada and posted under the correct area. Also, just the wording seemed weird. What do you think?

How does Kijiji work?

It's just like Craigslist, a classified ad service. You have to either post a phone number for people to contact you or watch for them to answer your ad in the "blind" mailbox Kijiji will provide if you select it when you set up your ad. How you want to get paid is up to you. Most people who use such sites do it cash and carry only (the buyer has to meet you, pay cash and pick it up themselves.) Kijiji doesn't get involved in the sale in any way (not like Ebay does.) If you want to use PayPal you'll have to set that up yourself separate from Kijiji.

I buy and sell a lot of stuff that way, from cars and kayaks to jewelry and building materials. Post as many photos as you can and make a complete description including the exact price you are charging. Do a search for similar items on the site first to see if your price is fair compared to what others are asking for. Be reasonable in your pricing -- used stuff is never worth anywhere near what you paid for it. If you ask too much you are wasting your time. Once you do make a sale, remember to go in and delete the old ad.

Also, don't fall for people who respond claiming they are "out of town" and want to "arrange for a pickup" by some delivery service or that say they will send you a "cashiers check." That's a common scam and the checks are always fake. The people who run these scams are mostly in Africa or Eastern Europe -- ignore any requests you get like that.

What are other good sites like Kijiji?

Here is a nice list of sites like kijijiThe list covers personal ad sites from Canada and the USA, so it’s worth checking out. Backpage and Craigslist are among the top choices, but check out the list for a ton of more specific ad sites! Good luck!!

Where can I sell my bearded dragons?

well if know one wants to buy then you might have to lower down the prices or create a bunch of adds on cragslist if you can, try selling them seperatly instead of both that might help

Is it immoral/offensive to buy something on Kijiji? For example, if I buy something inexpensive and then list it right away for a higher price to make a profit?

I do not think it is immoral. “ Buy Low Sell Higher. “- costs= profit. All commerces is built on that premise. It becomes immoral when You try and cheat people. The closer to the manufacture a Seller is the cheaper they can stock their sales site. You also have to figure in the time it takes to acquire the item, time to list item, Packing supplies, postage cost, Final Valuation Fee for selling site, Payment gateway fees, ETC.I think starting with something is better than not trying at all. If You continue to use ALL profits to run a business then continue to expand You will make more and more money. Try to find things to sell that are easy to get “NEW” in Your area. Research How many of that item is sold on the site You want to sell on. Try to find things no one else has or very few have. Give good customer service, stand behind your products, get a client list, take good pictures, ect. Starting small gives You experience a little at a time.It is better to try to better Yourself than to NOT try and stay stuck!
