If you leave a Timed Parking street, then come back an hour later, Does Time reset? I got a ticket...?
I live in San Francisco. I parked on a street section that says 4 hour time limit. I got there at 10AM, left at 12:30pm for a full 1 hour lunch break, came back at 1:30pm and parked on the same street side area about 20 feet back. Then when I left work at 4pm, I found a ticket for being parked there past 4 hours. It says I was spotted at 11:23AM and respotted at 3:30PM. Which is more than 4 hours. Yes, My car was on the same street, but I had left for a FULL hour in between that, and came back and parked 20 feet away. I was never there for more than 4 hours. So I totally understand why he thinks I was there for more than 4 hours, but I dont care about that. I just want to know, is this just a mistake on the ticketer because I parked very near by, or am I not allowed to re-park in that area for the rest of the day after the first 4 hours is up? Should I fight it? I have a receipt with my credit card and name on it from my lunch break to prove I was 7 miles away during lunch between that time, and shows "12:55pm" on the receipt. I could show that to the judge... thanks!
