Yep. I even had someone tell me they were going to call them on me. I said go ahead you have to know my name before you can really turn me in. There is a huge difference between spanking and beating a child. Some people need to realize that disipline is a good thing not a bad thing.

Should you spank your kids in public?
You should never beat or humiliate your children Period! This affects them more than you think. Violence is never the answer when dealing with your kids. If they behave bad there must be a reason, try talking with them like with an adult, listen to them, don’t interrupt them, speak calmly (Don’t scream at them, this will have the opposite effect). If there is a problem, they must know that you will help them to solve it, they will learn to trust you and will be more open and sincere with themselvs when they are around you. Spanking them and publicly at that will make them bitter, unrespetful and secretive because they’ll never trust you. instead of loving you, they will fear from you. Even if your kids grow up and forget about most of their childhood they’ll remember for life the way you treated them. Someday they might become your opposite or exactly like you, repeating your mistakes and treating people and themselves the way you treated them. Do you like this?
How hard should you spank a child?
I got spanked occassionally (hard enough for me not to do whatever it was that I did to get spanked in the first place ever again). To me, getting pinched HARD was worse than a spanking. If you don't have the heart to spank, I say pinch the hell out of 'em!

What guidelines do you have to determine the number of spanks that the child deserves? How old are you?
What age should you stop spanking your kid?
The last time my father ‘spanked me’ I was 16 yrs old [64 yrs old now] He had this thing about us boys, ‘BEND OVER AND GRAB YOUR ANKLES !” And he would use a belt.The last time he did that he swung that belt five times and five times I started ‘LAUGHING’! He got pissed then, he turned it around and used the buckle end, I LAUGHED HARDER… [Dumb teenager didn't know any better] Then, he stood me up and said, “SO YOU THINK YOUR A MAN NOW, HUH? WELL YOUR WHOPPIN’ DAYS ARE OVER!!! FROM THIS MOMENT ON, I’LL TREAT YOU LIKE A MAN… FROM NOW ON!”Two weeks later, our report cards were ‘mailed’ home instead of given to us. I seen Dad at the dinning room table and he said, “Bill, give me your keys.” [I had problems with it running rough and I gave up my keys] … “When these grades come up, you’ll get the Keys back!” I was pissed and I said, “I BE A SON-OFVA-BITCH!!!” Well, Dad had what I call ‘Selective Hearing Disorder’ and the only thing he heard was ‘SON-OFVA-BITCH!!!’ Then he motioned for me to come closer and like a good son, I LEANED IN and met a LEFT UPPER CUT! [He was left handed]I woke up an hour later in my bed with a swollen jaw and a loose tooth!I seen him and ask him why he belted me in the jaw like that… his answer.“BOY, LET THAT BE THE LAST TIME YOU EVER CALL YOUR DEAR ‘OL DAD’ A SON-OFVA-BITCH!!!”“Dad, I never called you one… I SAID, I BE A SON-OFVA-BITCH !!!” [My Dad and Mom was divorced when I was a lot younger] … His reply: ‘Well, you are!” and went back to reading the paper!*NOTE*This happened in the late ’60s and ‘CHILD ABUSE’ was clearly not well known. Years later, when I was on the County Police. I ask my step-mother where Dad was? She said glued to that TV on downtown court. I went in and seen the case he was glued to: A woman was taking her father to court for child abuse! She was 30+ yrs old and he was 60+ yrs old. The case came after 15 yrs.I glance over at Dad and said, “Dad, remember when you use to whip Larry, me and Eddie with that belt?” He turned to me with a worried look. “And you used the buckle on me…[I started laughing] …DON’T WORRY, I WON’T FILE CHARGES!!!” He had a few choice words for me, then I took him to our favorite ‘watering hole and bought him a beer!
If you were spanked as kid, did you ever hit back?
I was spanked and never considered hitting the person (usually my mom or dad) who had spanked me back. Spankings were an every day occurrence in the 50’s and 60’s when I grew up. Not only didi I get spanked, so did most of my friends, and nobody ever hit their spanker, as far as I know and remember. If some one had done so, it would have cost them another spanking in all probability.

I beleive in spanking to a very clearly defined limit. There is a huge difference between abuse and corporal punishment. Abuse leaves wounds, corporal punishment done in a loving manner discourages bad behavour. I do believe this is a last resort and should only be used in extreme cases where timeouts, and taking priveliges away has not been successful. Until recently everybody has beleived in spanking. The 1800's, 1900's, 1950's and so on. Only now that we are changing our ways are we seeing different behavours surface that we have rarely if ever seen before in children and it is appalling to us. Case in point -the eight year old in Arizona who killed his father. I have seen this work with my youngest child who is VERY stubborn and after trying everything with her the only thing that has EVER worked is spanking. I would, however, encourage you to check your states laws are regarding corporal punishment if you do practice this. I know where I am in Texas has no laws against it.

Ok, there's a lot of things about this on here; I will try to settle them. 1. What business is it of yours how I spank my children? 2. Why do you want to know? 3. How do I know that you do not work for a Child agency, trying to find out if I spank my kids so you can get my IP address, and come and take them from me for abuse? 4. How do I know that you aren't a fetishist who gets off on reading about spanking? How many times I hit my children's asses, or even if I do, is none of your concern. If you are real, and want to know- it is STILL not your business to be asking people how many times they hit their children's behinds.
