If You Wanted To Do You Know How To Find A Kingdom Hall Near You

Jehovah Witness Kingdom hall?

Yes, everyone is more than welcome to attend. And no, you will not be forced or even pressured to change your religion. :) If you have a Bible, you might want to bring it so you can follow along. Otherwise, you can feel free to just sit and listen. (Anyone there will be happy to share their Bible, songbook, etc., with you, or provide you with a new one.) And you can leave whenever you feel like it.

No collection plate is ever passed, and you will find that everyone there is nice, friendly, and normal.

As for what others will be wearing, we just try to dress modestly and respectfully - the girls will be in skirts and dresses and the guys in dress slacks, nice shirts and ties. If you don't have anything like that to wear, it's ok, you'll still be more than welcome. I hope you enjoy your visit! :)

Can Sisters wear pants to the Kingdom Hall?

Isn't it truly liberating when you realise that in order to serve God you don't have to conform to man-made rules and regulations? When you understand that God looks at what's going on in our hearts and minds, and what we wear is not important? That true worship has nothing to do with how other people view us?

I come from a generation where where women were expected to wear a hat in church. I wonder how many JW women cover their heads when in the Kingdom Hall? Good job our salvation does not depend on what we do or do not wear, eh?

Jehovah's Witnesses how will I find a Kingdom Hall when I am in America?

I would love to meet you also brother and your family. I live in ga usa. that would be awesome.

Who are taking care of the kids during the Kingdom Hall meetings?

The kids are forced to sit with their parents and listen to two hours of mind numbing drivel on Thursday and Sunday and one hour on Tuesday.

And don't forget being made to door knock every Sat and Sunday. Oh it's a great life for a kid.

Oh, I forgot preparing for the meetings by reading the same stuff your are going to be reading again. It's like homework, which most already have from real school.

And yes as some one mentioned above, kids would often get grilled about what was taught at the meeting. My father, Elder Hitler would always quiz us in the car on the way home, if we screwed up, we didn't stop fro ice cream.

He was a motivator.

EDIT: SEEK AND YOU'LL FIND: I gave the masturbation and circumcision talk that was assigned on the Kingdom Ministry school. Very explicit. I was assingned these because no one else really wanted to do them.

In fact, the circumcision talk was also given on a circuit assembly.

Thinking of going to service at kingdom Hall.......?

One of the ladies at my work is a JW, and she talkes alot about her meetings.
I was thinking of maybe going to a service
But I'm absolutly terrified
What do you wear, what is it like, what else should I know
I'm kinda scared about people coming up and trying to hand me a bible and magazines....

Should I go to a Kingdom Hall by myself at 14? Since I’m so young, will people not want me there until I’m older?

If you were to go on your own you'd be welcomed and showered with attention, friendliness from complete strangers and a female member of the congregation will sit with you. This is called "love bombing" and all cults do it. It's to make you feel special and to entice you to come back. At the end of the meeting you will be offered a bible study. Remember, friends are made over time - not instantly. All that love and attention disappears when you join the religion or stop attending meetings.Be sure to visit JWFacts.com, a website written and maintained by ex-members revealing things the JWs DO NOT want you to know.

What's the difference between church and kingdom hall?

Kingdom Hall is the pathway (hall) which leads to God's Kingdom Government.
Church is the congregation (according to the Bible)
At the Kingdom Hall, they teach directly from the Bible and encourage all to follow along. They never pass a collection plate and their speakers do not get paid.
At the church buildings I have been to, they try to convince people that the Bible says things that they believe without showing the proof from the Bible itself. They take collections, sometimes even trying to obligate people to pledge money ahead of time. Their ministers get paid for preaching and some even teach things they themselves don't believe (I was told this several times from the ministers themselves) because they get paid.
I would encourage you to at least try going to a Kingdom Hall several times and see what you think for yourself.

How do I tell my parents I don't want to be a Jehovah's Witness anymore?

I'm a 16 year old male and have been a Jehovah's Witness all my life. The reason I don't want to be one anymore is because its too stressful on me and I am starting to disagree with some of the beliefs. I am tired of being the 'weirdo' at school who doesn't celebrate Christmas and my birthday. I feel really out of place when we say the pledge of allegiance because I just have to sit there while they do it and I get weird looks, I don't want people to think I am better than it. I have a group of friends who are also Jehovah's Witnesses and all we do during lunch and our free time at school is study and discuss the bible. There are lots of other reasons as to why I don't want to be a Witness anymore but I'd be here all day writing them.

I have a big problem which is that my Dad is an Elder, I don't think he'd like the fact that I want to quit. It's not that I don't belive in God anymore because I've done some research and have decided I want to become a Christian. Can you please give me some advice on how I can tell my parents this news? I know that they won't like it but I can't keep living a lie anymore. I have never witnessed a disfellowship before so what would the Kingdom Hall do to me?
