Illegal To Sell But Not Illegal To Buy Or Own.

Is it illegal to buy gift cards and then sell them?

i own a local deli in NY. My friend suggested that i buy gift cards from my customers for a 10% discount and then sell them to other people for a discount. for example, if somebody comes into my deli with a 100$ ***** sporting goods gift card that they dont want, i pay them 90$ cash. another person walks into my store and wants to buy a ***** sporting good gift card, i then sell that person this gift card for 95$ cash so everybody wins. I was thinking of doing this because i know many people receive gift cards for the holidays that they will never use. I was just wondering if i did actually do this would it be illegal?

Would it be illegal for me to buy someone else's work and sell it for a higher price?

No it is not illegal to sell. Because the person who sell the work/ art sells it with is own consent and with his satisfaction of consideration. But one cannot claim the work as his one. for example ;- Taking a work belonging to person "Z" by A. But A cannot claim that the work was done by him. he could claim that he bought. on the other way Z cannot claim the money from B i.e who sold the work for higher price. Because the contract between B and Z ends once the goods is delivered. But if there was provision that there could not be  resale or such in company's work or in software matters for reaonable time if it is written and approved with free consent.

Is selling something you don't own but you buy it later illegal?

You put something up online and you don't own it and when someone orders it you use the money they gave you to buy the product for them.

Is this legal or illegal?

Is it illegal to buy and own American dvds in the UK?

Generally no, you can buy them in some high street stores. If there is some certification problem then they likely would not have been imported. It does raise the question of licensing I suppose and different releases in different places by different distributors but ultimately this has never seemed to be a problem.A lot of people seem to think they won’t or may not play. Most of the time this is unlikely. Yes there is DVD region encoding but many players are multi-region or can be unlocked. A DVD player costs peanuts these days (quite possibly less than an imported DVD….) and finding a multi-region one is not difficult. Many of the discs are not region encoded in the first place and will play on anything, check the back of the case.Computer DVD drives are generally region locked but the region can be changed (the number is limited though to 3 or 5 I think - not a great solution but if you have more than one laptop then can set them permanently to different regions).Having lived in UK (and bought USA DVDs there) as well as Asia I have DVDs from at least 3 regions. This has very occasionally been a pain when on holiday trying to use a laptop but at home with DVD players it has not been a problem. Some firms seem to be keener on locking stuff than others (Sony seem to do this a lot with their hardware), others not so much.

Is it illegal to buy blank keys?

No, it's only wrong to use those blanks in an illegal, immoral or irresponsible way. Think about it, you can buy brass, you can buy files, so, you can make your own keys. Nothing illegal about that, as long as you're not violating copyrights (Schlage has copyrights on some of their key blanks, and I would bet that other manufacturers do too), or doing it for illegal purposes, like duplicating a "do not duplicate" key.
But, simple possession of key blanks might look suspicious, so I would be very careful with them.

Is it illegal to sell my own identit information?

lol David is correct, if by some strange chance you would find someone willing to pay for the use of your identity, you would not obtain anything from Lifelock as they would thoroughly investigate the claim and find your claim fraudulent, and more than likely file charges against you. Which means your identity would be in the hands of another individual, and you would not receive any money, and enjoy a nice long stay in the local prison for fraud.

Is it illegal to buy a fake watch?

According to Customs Directive No. 2310-011A dated January 24, 2000, "Customs officers shall permit any person arriving in the United States to import one article, which must accompany the person, bearing a counterfeit, confusingly similar, or restricted gray market trademark, provided that the article is for personal use and not for sale." Moreover, the Directive states that "Customs officers shall permit the arriving person to retain one article of each type accompanying the person."It is not illegal to own or purchase fake watches so long as the items are declared and the intent is not for resale. A dozen watches would be suspicious however one or two declared should pass without threat of confiscation. In the event an article is taken away, there is a procedure and forms that can be filed to reclaim the article whether it is a fake watch or Gucci bag.China has long been guilty of not honoring patents, copyrights, or trademarks. The profits are just too good to suppress. Officials not involved in the counterfeit business are also not particularly interested in trying to stamp out what they consider a cottage industry. This is why so many “replica” watches are available on the internet. The Swiss watch industry whines about the money they are losing but there is little they can do to stop the flood of fakes onto the market.I was given a “replica” Rolex that was an excellent copy. It kept good time but was worn infrequently. One day I dropped it onto a carpet floor and the chapter marks fell off, (although not as bad as the one pictured). It went from cool to pathetic within a short time to become more throw away jewelry. It was a gift so I wasn’t too bummed about it. People are always better off buying the best watch they can afford and appreciate years of faithful service.
