Which is better for weight loss jogging or sprinting?

Good question.
I was in your shoes too.
I was 5'10 220 pounds.
I joined track and became a sprinter i lost 20 pounds in just over a month.
sprinting with some aerobic activities and you'll shed those pounds away.

before you start just sprinting warm up with at least 1/2 mile or 1 mile

then get a drink and walk for a minute.
get on a track or get a watch

start out with a easy sprint.
remember sprint means using all your energy explosevly.
so you can do a workout like

Sprint 10 seconds
Sprint 15 seconds
Sprint 20 seconds
Sprint 25 seconds
Sprint 20 seconds
Sprint 15 seconds
Sprint 10 seconds

then go and jog another 1/2 mile to a mile and your looking at big results fast. after you build tolerance to those times try adding 5-10 seconds too each one.

You're at the age where loads of people start gaining/losing weight that will shape their future, so it is best to start now instead of later, but you don't need to stress you have plenty of time :).

The best way to lose weight is just by eating healthily and having a fixed routine that your metabolism can get used to.
The best tips I can give from my experience are:

-Track EVERYTHING you eat/drink, this is crucial. Use an app or website where you can select the food you've eaten from a database (I used myfitnesspal.) Once you input your height, weight and age, it will give you a daily calorie limit tailored to you.

-Have fixed eating times. Try to eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the exact same time every day. For example, I eat breakfast at 10am, lunch at 1pm and dinner at 5pm. (It's best to eat within an 8 hour window to lose weight faster)Try not to snack too much.

-Drink plenty of water (atleast 8 glasses [2L]) at fixed times also. For example I drink:
>1 glass with breakfast
>1 glass halfway between breakfast and lunch
>1 glass right before lunch
>1 glass with/right after lunch
>1 glass halfway between lunch and dinner
>1 glass right before dinner
>1 glass with/right after dinner
>1 glass an hour after dinner.

-Don't starve yourself, don't give into any fad diet, just eat healthily. I'll have cereal for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, and since I don't control what I have for dinner, I'll have just a normal dinner and a few snacks inbetween each meal.

-Exercise does help you lose weight faster, but isn't essential, just try and increase your physical activity by a bit

I am 13 and 260 pounds! What is a great way to lose weight?

This is my very best advice. You need to get your parents to take you to a doctor for a physical exam and some blood work to be done. The doctor needs to find out if there is a reason (other than eating too much of the wrong foods) for you to weigh so much. Then under doctor's supervision, you should go on the Weight Watchers diet plan. And at the same time, you need some exercise. Since you are so heavy, you should stick to walking and swimming for now so you don't damage your joints (ie. no running, jumping, etc.). And in the meantime, limit yourself to one chocolate bar every Sunday and no more junk food. Weight Watchers will help you eat healthy food and you will learn how to adjust your diet. Your doctor will make sure you don't lose weight too fast and not get the appropriate nutrients (remember, you are still a growing girl).

you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Oh you'll be getting taller my friend, I have no doubt about that. I give 4-6 more inches. But honestly 260 lbs is a lot of weight to be carrying around for a 14 year old. Try and cut some weight. I did
