Im A Fan Of True Blood So Whats Vampire Diaries Like

Why are Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood and even Buffy the Vampire Slayer all about women falling in love with male vampires and not the other way around?

In Twilight, Edward falls in love with Bella. Bella is written poorly enough that she's in it for him in exactly the same way, but Edward was also written poorly enough that he fell for her even before she was up for him.In TVD, both Damon and Stefan fall in love with Elena. Stefan falls out of love with Elena, and Elena Stefan. It's a complicated love triangle with multiple angles and externalities (and I haven't kept up with it) but from what I understand they're all dynamic characters with their own interests and motivations and the end result is that they end up being allies or frenemies. Elena follows her heart and works her hardest to keep her friends alive, even if it means sacrificing herself or her lover/s. Stefan always does what's right, but he'll fall right into darkness for those he holds closest. Damon is and has always been in the dark, but for those he loves, he will do even darker things. They're such interesting characters. I love them dearly, and I wish them all the best, and I wish they would introduce a polyamoury so that they can happily be together. But whatever. That's just my love for TVD.In True Blood, I'm not sure exactly what happens (I watched all of one episode) but I'm fairly sure it went both ways. The mind-reading southerner doing what's right, and the vampire pursuing her. Whatever.In Buffy, again, the heroine had her choices; the male vampires fell in love with her for her progressiveness, and she fell in love with them because of their light sides - she pulled them from darkness and hell. (I only watched season one, don't kill me, I was one year old when it started.)If it seems like the heroine in these stories is falling for the males in the story, remember that it's the heroine's story: if the story was from the other perspective, it would certainly be about the male character falling in love with the woman.

What should I watch after The Vampire Diaries ends?

Easy call!I presume, you are aware that Current Season 8 (2 Episode aired) is the Final Season of Vampire Diaries. Being a Vampire aficionado I recommend you following TV Series:The Originals (In Fact I like this much more than TVD, really fantastic) The Mikelsons are flawsome.Supernatural: They have included a hell lot of supernatural entities: Witches, Dark spirits,Vampires, Warlock, Half-Humans,Werewolf,Orbs,Doppelgangers blahh, blaah.Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Downloaded just half an hour before so no incites but plot looks appealing.True Blood: Never saw it, but it has secured good rankings at TRP. What are some shows similar to The Vampire Diaries?

Like Genre?The Originals is the spin off surrounding the original family- so klaus and rebekah and the rest of the mikaelson clan. Has a lot of the same mythology of Vampire Diaries since it is exists in the same world. In my opinion though, It’s a lot better than vampire diaries in terms of story quality and consistency. Plus Klaus Mikaelson…Need I say more.If you want something different, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my absolute favorite television show. If you like the vampires and the demons and the forces of evil, you’ll love the slayer. It also starts in high school and follows Buffy and her friends as they grow up into adults, its one big metaphor for life. It’s credited as being one of the most influential television shows out there. There is so much depth to each character, a great story, great build up, great acting, great chemistry. Great everything. It’ll make you cry and scream but you’ll love it anyways. Also credited as having the best musical episode, its yet to be topped. Also has an episode with no music which won an Emmy. Basically lots of firsts in television history. To break it down for you by character:Buffy Summers- protagonist and vampire slayer, Your Elena Character, but about a bajillion times betterWillow Rosenberg- adorable book worm, computer geek, and also powerful witch, Your Bonnie CharacterCordelia Chase- mean girl at the school who secretly has a heart, Your Caroline ForbesXander Harris- dorky side kick human character who cracks a lot of the jokes, Your Matt CharacterAngel- I don’t want to spoil anything about him, but he’s kind of your Stefan CharacterRupert Giles- Buffy’s watcher, guardian father figure who helps her in training and knows all the lore for fighting the big bads (term coined by the show actually), Your Alaric SaltzmanSpike- Vampire Badass who likes to cause trouble for Buffy and the gang, Your Damon SalvatoreHonorable mentions to Oz, the shows resident werewolf.
