Is fashion designing good career option?
It is a great career, if you have talent and the passion to pursue it. Your skill set can be developed with the right training. It is much easier to launch a career in fashion design by attending school and earning a Bachelors in Fashion Design or Architecture, believe it or not. Fashion Merchandising is more the business side where you would focus on buying, planning and forecasting trends, therefore, you will not get the training necessary to function as a designer. Nonetheless, it is possible with a degree in Merchandising, but it will be far more challenging.As a “fashion insider”, I can tell you that being a designer is not easy. There will be challenges and if you work for a company instead of launching your own line, there are guidelines that you must follow. You will not always get to make the designs that you want. Many fashion designers have 10–12 hour days if not longer and very little work life balance. I believe that all of this is important for you to know more than the good stuff because there are always aspects of your job that you will not like. I say this not to discourage you, but to give you an idea of what to expect and to help you determine if that sacrifice is worth the investment. However, if all of what I have said doesn’t faze you, go for it!
Im a fashion designer how to get US visa?
I just recently graduated in Philippines Institute of fashion here in manila Philippines and im planning to work in other countries but my problem is i have no idea how to get a US visa for a fashion designer like me does anyone knows the requirements or do i have atleast a chance to work in USA because its been my dream to work in NY as fashion designer thank you
Modeling and fashion designers?
ive been modeling in NYC for about 4 and half years now, ive learned and experienced alot. i've done runway shows for obedientsons.com, i did ad campaigns, i shot with all american guys, six pack now in 2005, and among other things u have to start by creating a portfolio. each agency requires something different. go out and get ur self a few shots done professionaly a few good head shots, and body shots and put that in ur portfolio among other things whatever is required by what agency. u should call up the agency and schedule an appointment and take ur portfolio with u and the rest is from there. i got lucky i worked at abercrombie and fitch and got noticed. goodluck. for modeling u have to be open minded and be easy to work with because people will be very critical of u and u also have to be on time.
How was your US visa interview experience?
I had applied for B1 visa, my interview was on 1 August 2018. Below is the transcript of my interview.Me : Hi, Good morning Officer : Good morning pass me your passport. Officer : How many times you have been outside India ? Me : I have never been outside India. Officer: So then, Why do you want to go to US ? Me : I have been invited by Google to attend a conference here's the invitation letter. Officer: what kind of conference is it? Me : It's for the individuals who actively contribute in improving the Google maps. Officer : Why have they invited you ? Me : Because I am an active contributor on Maps. Officer : So what do you do ? Me : Currently I don't work, I met with an accident, it broke my ankle and had to undergo two surgeries. I am still recovering from it. Officer : But how ? Me : I was trying to save a puppy. Officer: Oh but how are you going to pay the expenses in the US? Me : Everything will be paid by Google, it's written in the letter. Officer: Oh yes I see. So where do you live and with whom? Me : I live with my parents in a joint family in Gujarat. Officer: And what is the profession of your father? Me : We have a family business, we make raw materials used in pain killers. Officer: Oh that's nice. And where were you previously working? Me : I was in 99acres.com as a senior executive. Officer : Please be specific. Me: I was in digital advertising. Officer : Nice. Your visa will be ready in 2 to 3 days. Take care.
