Dress in skirts! My mom is almost 50 and wears skirts almost every day. She likes mostly jean skirts and wears everything with them from super dressy tops to tank tops and you can wear any kind of shoe with them too. Any kind of purse goes good with skirts and almost any kind of accesory does too. You could also try changing your hair style. If you have short hair put in some highlights. My mom told me once that you have to change your hair style once in a while or you'll just end up looking the same all the time no matter what you wear. Hope it helps give you some ideas!

I have been in your shoes. Take my advice! Don't try to impress them in any way. It goes easily detected. Be you. In my experience, helping out during meal preparation, like setting up the table, is usually a nice way to talk more to the mom and to show that you're not just there looking pretty. I don't necessarily think this is trying to impress. Just being helpful. Dress appropriately and cleanly. Be modest and simple. Less goes a long way. Don't curse, don't get an attitude over anything, and just concentrate on having a good time. :) When you eat, take your time. Spaghetti is messy so make sure you get plenty of napkins. During the meal, if it's awkward, just ask questions. Ask questions about the members of the family or of you're desperate, about the recipe for the spaghetti, haha. You'll be okay! Relax and remember to enjoy.
My mom doesn't let me wear makeup or fashion clothes! Help!?
Im 14 and im a freshman in high school. Basically all the girls wear makeup and the latest trends! My mom is the closest person ever, but she will never understand why i spend so much time for my appearance. I cant help getting one freaking C or D, I have ADHD. My looks are the only thing I have left in me that makes me confident about my self! With out my looks, im just not myself...I fell ugly. I depend on the way I look and I would very like to keep it that way. All i want to wear is just a little mascara, Because my eyelashes are straight. My mom wont even let me wear boots with a tiny heel, she wont let me wear short shorts, the shorts she lets me wear to school are not in style....I've even had people tease me about my long shorts. What Im saying is....I love my mom with all my heart, but I just need her to let me be myself and let go! Im not a little girl anymore! Im in high school and 14. I just want to fit in and look like all the girls that go to school. The way she doesn't let me wear a little makeup to school or fashion....just hurts me and makes me feel like she doesn't want me to be myself. I need my mom to understand. She didn't grow up in USA she grew up in vietnam and its VERY different there. In vietnam, people dont date until they are like 19, they dont wear makeup or care about clothes until 18. But over here in USA. all the teen girls wear makeup. I love my mom...she's my other half with out her I woud just die, but she needs to understand. Its not like Im going to go out and do drugs, get pregnant or drink, NO WAY! im not stupid! Im a smart girl, i just need to be myself. Please help! any advise?

No way ! ...........you cannot wear that stuff.You are too young! Don't just decide to do something becasue your frieds are wearing it. Mother knows best. I'm thirteen, and my mom's helped me more than enough times. Your mom's probably gone through similar problems and she's been through the consequences so she knows the right thing to do...Besides, it gives guys the wrong idea and some guys will take advantage of whatever ideas they might have.........Blecchhh

Your friends are right! Thongs are totally comfortable and really do the job of eliminating a panty line. I started wearing thongs at 13, and my mom didn't have a problem with it. But I don't think that hiding anything behind your mom's back is the best idea. She has a reason for not letting you wear one, and she also has a reason as to why she thinks you're too young to wear one. Calmly ask her why she has this rule, and go with the flow from there. <3
I want to tell my mom about my crossdressing fetish but i am REALLY scared to do it? any advice?
If you crossdress strictly because it's a sexual fetish, I would simply keep it behind closed doors. Your sexuality and what turns you on is nobody's business but your own and whoever you get romantically involved with. However, if it's more of a serious expression for you to where you feel the need to dress in a feminine way openly and it's not about the sexual aspect, then yes you should tell your mom. It will be tough and it might take some time for her to adjust to, but at least you can be open about who you are and not have the shame of hiding it anymore. I guarentee you that unless your mom is very conservative and close-minded, she will love you regardless and find a way to accept you. She can also be very helpful in building up a wardrobe of your own. Having a supportive mother will also be helpful in coming out to your father, who will probably be the toughest person you will ever have to come out to. Like your mom though, if he loves you he will find a way to accept you. Best of luck to you.
Help! i'm almost 14 and my mom wont let me get my eyebrows done?!?
i'm usually a pretty good convincer, i've convinced my mom to let me get pierced ears 5 years earlier than she originally said, and i convinced her to let me get a facebook and a new phone and move into a bigger room and i convince her to buy me clothes and stuff all the time, but for some reason she will not budge on letting me get my eyebrows waxed, she says they arent bad enough! i mean i guess they arent horrible, but i think i would look ten times better with better eyebrows! how do i convince her? i would just tweeze them myself, but i dont have the foggiest idea what i'm doing! argh!
