How do I search by job when I am 40?

Assuming you would have started your career at around 25 years of age - When you are 40 you should expect -*Less job openings in your area of work. Coz the opportunities for a person with more than 10+ years are way lesser. So you MUST learn to be patient with your job search. And work really hard. The no.of senior professionals far exceed the no.of opportunities that are available in the market. So every advertised job has at least about 1000 professionals that are available and ready to work for less.*The no.of "advertised" jobs are much lesser than the un-advertised ones. Unfortunately there are not many ways you can know of the "Un-advertised" jobs.*Network with other professionals. *You must be "open" to accept even small opportunities (Opportunities that pay you less as well.) Do not get stuck with big names/brands.*You must "Upskill". Learn new skills that will enhance your chances to find opportunities.*Assuming you would have good amount of expertise in your area of work (At least 10 - 15 yrs) - You could consider training others. There are a lot of freelance training companies who could sign you up for training delivery. This requires a lot of persuasive marketing but it will pay if you are good at teaching.*Try teaching at educational institutes until such a time you can find a good opportunity. So job search at 40 can be hard. You need to be patient and try every way you can to land a good opportunity.

17-year-old job search?

Hi!

I am a 17-year-old high school student interested in finding a part-time job as soon as possible. I've completed applications in the past but haven't had any luck with them. I'll be busy this summer volunteering at the local animal shelter for my school senior project so I'm going to need a job where I'll be able to have time for both.

I was thinking about applying at Gabriel Brothers but I'm not sure how old you have to be to work there. I don't want to work cashier.

Any ideas? Please? Any are appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :)

I'm fed up with job search engines. What's a good way to look for a new job?

I've tried all of the big and popular websites, but all they have to offer is not-so-great sales jobs, which is what I'm trying to leave. I have a business degree and would like to put it to use in a position other than sales. How can I tap into the career opportunities that I'm looking for? Where can I find the right job?

Suicidal thoughts and Job Searching: What am I doing wrong?

I am a 25 year old who graduated from college in 2013 with a BS in Biological Sciences. It has almost been 3 years since I graduated college and I have not found a decent job with my college degree because:

I'm overqualified for the position.
I do not have enough experience for this position.
I do not have any experience in this position.
I live too far away (I was told that by a hiring manager even after explaining how I would use my own means of getting to and from the job.)
I do not possess the skills for this job position.
We are seeking other candidates for this position.
6. This job position has been closed.

I do not know what to do to increase my chances for a job. I try networking with recruiters, calling HR departments about job positions I am interested in, emailing CEOs & presidents of companies to express my interest in certain jobs. I can't even land an interview for jobs. I'm such a pathetic loser.

I'm not saying that a college degree is a means for a job, but to spend thousands of dollars on a degree and not be able to apply the knowledge gained from the degree is disheartening to the point of wanting to commit suicide. It's so depressing to know that I accumulated $40K in debt with no great financial means to pay it back. Right now, I am only making $12 an hour working in a hospital kitchen. I keep applying and networking for new job, but unfortunately, I am just not good enough I guess. If something does not change for me, suicide might just be the answer
