Im Extremely Underwhelmed In School Does Anyone Have Good Resources For Extra Work

What is the academic pressure and workload at Baylor University like?

Baylor University is a fairly high-ranking university, so it’s not going to be nearly as easy to get through as, say, a community college. That being said, it depends entirely on your own abilities and on what program you go into. You could either feel like you’re drowning under your responsibilities or you could feel completely bored out of your mind. This is the case at any university, however. When it comes down to it, one of the biggest factors that can make workloads feel too overwhelming or underwhelming is time management. If you have a good routine, you don’t procrastinate, you don’t go out and party instead of finishing work, etc. then you will reduce the pressure significantly. Failing to properly manage your time will increase the likelihood that you will feel overwhelmed. Also, if this is for your undergraduate education, don’t feel like you have to stick to the degree that you choose at the beginning. You can always change it if you feel like what you’re currently doing is too overwhelming and not what you want to be doing. It’s very common for undergraduates to change their degree program. Some change it to something similar and others change it to something drastically different. One of the benefits of going to Baylor is that you will be able to have one-on-one conversations with lots of the faculty. Lots of the faculty at Baylor make themselves readily available and are often very friendly and helpful and do everything that they can to help make sure you’re able to succeed. So, while there’s not a very clear answer for how heavy the workload is — it’s going to feel different to everyone and different across each discipline — there are lots of resources to help you succeed. If you manage your time well, you should be able to do just fine. If you find that, even with good time management you’re feeling overwhelmed, you still have the possibility of changing to a different degree program. So, there’s a lot of options when it comes to handling the workload.

What are the reasons for a job change?

Thanks for the A2A.Many reasons:1. Pay. Getting a higher package elsewhere, most grab it!2.Not happy with current company.Basically, for every employee the equation with company is synonymous to equation with the manager. The more uncomfortable/dissatisfied one feels with his/her manager, the more bad he feels about the company and wants to just run away to somewhere else.3.Desire to work in a bigger company.Offer from a big corporate is enticing. Will yield higher respect from peers, parents etc. More about social esteem. Sometimes even pay incentives are overlooked for social esteem.4.Onsite opportunity. The desire to go abroad. Earn in dollars or pounds. Looked as a big thing in Indian middle class. Will boost the marital CV.5.Better job profile and more challenging work opportunities. But this has to go with fat pay cheques too. Never met anyone who switches just for passion for his work and not for monetary or other benefits.6.ExperimentationWorking in a startup sounds adventurous to many.(Note: Most starups in India feel that they are the next facebook/google and now watsapp and lure engineers big time).Switching to a completely different sector. One of my friends switched to shipping sector, having worked his ass off for two years in an IT company. He did that because he hated his job and just wanted to quit the industry.7.Some even switch to their girlfriend's company. Just out of love and passion, this time, for the girlfriend. This one is most understandable of all decisions. :PHappy Switching.

What can I do for my 16 year old daughter who is severely struggling with her school work? She had already been held back and nothing seems to be working. She's very bright and I'm worried about her future.

Does she know why she’s struggling? Learning difficulties can be hard to pick up from the outside, and the student doesn’t necessarily realise their “normal” isn’t the normal that everyone else is used to. (For example, I didn’t find out I was dyslexic until my last year of high school because I didn’t think to ask what normal was supposed to look like.)It would also be prudent to check for hearing and sight issues; not being able to hear instructions or see the board can seriously damage enthusiasm for learning.Alternitivly, is she maybe not enjoying herself anymore? Enjoying school, or at least the learning aspect of it, is critical to doing well. You mentioned she had been held back; that might have done more harm than good. She may have decided she was too stupid for school and might be sabotaging herself in the idea that she is a waste at school.
