Im Having Trouble With My 1993 Sse Pontiac

Trouble code of P1870 in Bonneville Pontiac 1997?

That code is not related to the parts you replaced. You need to get it to a transmission shop and have it diagnosed by a professional.

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Transmission Problem?

I have a 1995 pontiac grand prix SE. The car runs perfectly fine, until it heats up to the first mark on the temperature guage.. when it gets to that point, the car shifts erratically and skips 2nd and 3rd gear. it will also shift back and forth every 2-3 seconds. When I give it gas, the car revs, but sounds more like a Semi-Truck engine, and doesnt go any faster, unless I give it more and more and more gas. But before the car heats up to this point, it runs and shifts perfectly fine. Any suggestions?

1997 Pontiac Bonneville Transmission problem?

Shift solenoid is bad, I believe on that transmission, The shift solenoid is located inside the transmission pan attached to the valvebody. You need to get it to a transmission shop and get it looked at. Unless you feel like trying to replace it yourself, which isn't bad, but it's not fun either.

1993 Pontiac Sunbird SE 3.1 V6?

I just bought a 93 sunbird 3.1, 5 speed for 300$, For such a cheap car it is in great condition and well kept. I have many questions about it though. First being, it has an internal slave cylinder in the clutch, priced by mechanics and auto shops they want 700+ to replace it, Is it true you have to pull the engine to be able to get to it? it looks like i could just take of driver side wheel, brakes, axle and get to it with out pulling the engine? would it be worth doing myself to save money? i consider myself mechanically inclined. So thats my major question at this time.
My other questions are for interest and pleasure, how limited am i in aftermarket parts? what body parts will fit it? do they have aftermarket halo headlights that will fit it with out much fabrication? or perhaps GTS headlight covers? Body kits? will the 3.4 engines from later pontiac models fit in it? will the 3.1 turbo charged engine from a grand prix fit in it? exhaust options? Body kit options? and best question of them all..is there a website where i can learn all this my own with out troubling everyone? I did see a website with a picture of a guy with a sunbird extremely modded out, he gave a link to a website where enthusiasts have modded out there pontiacs of various makes and models, for the life of me i cant find that website to ask the person with the sunbird where he got all his parts and for tips and tricks, it wasnt the "pontiacforum" either. Hope to get some advice, i will appreciate it. I just want to have a lot of fun with this car, i plan on taking good care of it and want it to look and run its best for a long while.

How do I hotwire a Pontiac Grand Am?

Well…Well we all started somewhere. You failed to mention the year. Newer cars enjoy a computer chip in the key and if that's not active. No Start! All a hot wire is bypassing the cars keyed ignition system. So somehow you get power to the starter so the solenoid drops and starts the cars motor. Sounds like wire from + battery terminal and to + on starter. Walla! Motor turns over. You've got wired any car.

93 Pontiac Grand AM ABS Light came on?

More than likely the ABS light will not come on for worn pads. If the light comes on and stays on, more then likely the problem would be a faulty ABS sensor. If you need to get the pads replaced, have them also diagnose the sensor light. If you are already having work done, perhaps they will do the diagnostic without further charge. You would, however, have to pay for the sensor if that is the cause.

I would not classify this as an emergency. The ABS light was on in my Explorer for a few months before I replaced the sensor. During that time I encountered no problems with braking.

Location of turn signal flasher on a 1995 pontiac bonneville se?

REPLACEMENT

The turn signal flasher is under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column brace. On the Bonneville, it may be on the left side on the shroud. The hazard flasher is under the instrument panel to the right of the steering column.

The turn signal flasher is installed in a clamp attached to the base of the steering column support inside the car. In all cases, replacement is made by unplugging the old unit and plugging in a new one.
