Im Healthy/vegan But I Feel Nauseous And Have Headaches Everyday .

Headaches and shortness of breath everyday?

You could be anemic, have low blood pressure, or something of the like. I would go see a doctor, they can help you. Anemia is a lack of iron in the blood. It's likely if you're vegan or a vegetarian. You would just need to research foods with iron and change your diet. If it's low blood pressure, drink more water or even try gatorade until you can get an appointment with a doctor. Anything that makes you feel dizzy, excessively tired, OR short of breath warrants immediate attention from a doctor, and since you're three for three, I'd get going! ;)

Ask your doctor to refer you to a neurologist who specializes in headaches. The problem with daily headaches is that you take too much pain medication, which can then cause more, more frequent headaches. You need to find out what kind of headache it is and get the appropriate treatment or preventative.

Is it normal to have a headache every single day?

Number 1. Are you eating healthy? And do you eat enough food at breakfast, lunch, supper?

The reason I am asking these questions is because with you still be a teenager; you burn a lot of calories up during the day. And if you don't have enough food in your system to burn these calories; you can get headaches every day.

Plus: Do you eat chocolate candy bars etc or drink pop with caffeine in it; like pepsi, coke, dr. pepper etc? Or a lot of candy that has a high count of sugar? To much of these kind of things will cause you to have headaches also.

The best thing I would do is this: Write down every day; what you are eating or drinking at every meal or snacking on in between meals. Plus write the times down also. Then at the end of the week show your mom and ask her if any of these foods would cause your headaches. Alright?

It might surprise you! There might be something that your eating or drinking that might be causing the problem that your not aware of. I'M SERIOUS!!!

Is it normal to have a headache everyday during pregnancy?

Headaches are common and can be everyday, they can have start or centre around certain areas.

But do please refrain from taking advil, it is not advised in pregnancy. Ibuprofen has been linked to adverse effects during pregnancy. Paracetamol is recommended for pain relief during pregnancy, whether it be panadol, tylenol, panamax, paracetamol - different names of tablets but all contain same ingredients.

Advil = pregnancy category C - Studies on animals show adverse effect and toxicity on fetus.
No adequate and well controlled studies done on pregnant women.
Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.

Fetal Risk:
No adequate human data in 1st trimester exposure but reported doubtful association with some congenital anomalies (anencephaly, cerebral palsy, microphthalmia, nasal cleft, and tooth staining) and fetal death.
Use of the drug in 3rd trimester causes constriction of ductus arteriosus with subsequent pulmonary hypertension and oligohydramnios by affecting fetal renal function.
Inhibits labor, prolongs pregnancy.

I am guessing you might be having what we doctors call " Tension type headaches ".Episodic tension headache usually is associated with a stressful event. This headache type is of moderate intensity, of throbbing quality,self-limited, and usually responsive to nonprescription drugs. Chronic tension headache often recurs daily and is associated with contracted muscles of the neck and scalp. This type of headache is bilateral and usually occipitofrontal. There is a lot to write but if it bothers you too much take a prompt advice from a neurologist.

Can becoming vegetarian cause headaches???

I experience greater sensitivity to foods and what they do to my body now being vegan, but also when I went vegetarian. From what I've gathered from books and articles, when you decide to give up things that are - I'll just say "bad" - for you then your body starts to clean itself (detox) and push out the toxins in your body. This can cause a number of different reactions like headaches or acne. Both of which I experienced. Headaches, for me now, are the cause of having too much sodium in a serving (or wearing a headband...or staring at the computer for too long). I'm very cautious now about making sure that I don't go over the maximum suggested 2,400mg of sodium a day. I also drink a lot of water when I have a headache and it helps greatly within 10 minutes. I drink about 16oz (or 2 big glasses of water) when that happens.

However, it could be completely unrelated to your dietary choices. I always know why I'm feeling a certain way though, and for me, it's usually because of food or physical activity. But maybe you should look into some detox things and see if it could help. If you're interested, you don't need to do some of the crazy (and unhealthy) detox diets out there. A detox could be as simple as eating nothing but fruits and veggies and nothing else for 3 days. Do some reading because you should be well informed before you do a detox and I don't have enough information for you.

If the headaches continue or get worse though, you might want to see a doctor. It could also be something to do with your eyes. I've experienced an ocular migraine before - not fun.

The brain tries its best to be economical in distributing energy needed for different functions of the body. When you're keeping yourself awake despite being tired, your body has to keep functioning on a very low amount of energy. Like a good monarch, the brain needs to decide where resources are needed the most which in this case is keeping you from collapsing. Digestion is no longer a priority. Less blood is being sent that way, which is why you experience nausea. It's very similar to anxiety evoking situations (or indeed life threatening situations) - the brain registeres the presence of danger, increases the heart rate which pumps more blood through the muscles, prioritising it over any other activity and preparing you for a fight or flight response.
