Im In Trouble With The Law Because Of My Social Anxiety

Social anxiety and Jury duty!?

Ok, so I got summoned to jury duty and I know I can't be excused because I don't have one besides Social anxiety but the thing is I haven't spoken to anyone about it not even my doctor. The funny thing is I was suppose to go this week on monday before I went in for jury duty but couldn't get myself to go, I'm just too afraid to talk to my doctor. So I got called in and they talked to 18 people already in front of all 30 of us and I'm pretty sure tomorrow they'll be asking me questions and I'm freaking out!!!! The whole time I was there all I could think of was please don't call my name, and when they did all I could think of was please don't let me talk to me first and my heart was racing the whole time. I'm a mess right now and it kind of feels like I'm having a little panic attack thinking of it. I'm so scared... I looked up things for social anxiety and it seems like I have it pretty bad. I have a hard time getting out my house, I always think people r judging me, I beat myself up after a conversation because I feel like I said something stupid, my heart races when I'm in a crowded place, sometimes even when there's only 1 or 2 people I don't know and I'm alone with them. My face turns red quickly when I talk in front of a crowd or someone new, so much other things that make me hate myself. God I hope I don't get picked to be one of the jurors.

How to overcome social anxiety?

PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS:
i have had social anxiety since i was 4 years old (preschool) and now i'm 16 (high school) and out of my 3 friends, only one will actually talk to me/reply to my emails. and at school, i just do all my work, and only speak when spoken to. and even if i need to ask the teacher a question, i feel really anxious and feel my face getting hot and my voice trembles. and if someone trys to start a conversation with me, i will just end up not saying anything and just nodding my head and saying "yeah" at the right time, and then there will be awkward silence, and the person eventually gets bored and walks away, and then i feel really anxious. i even have trouble having conversations with my own family! and during the summer, i just end up going on the computer all day and not going out because all my friends are busy. and i also have depression and stress, but i don't have the money to see a doctor or psychologist. what can i do to overcome my social anxiety?

Does Lexapro help if you have Social Anxiety?

Hey everyone,

My doctor prescribed me 10mg Lexapro for my Social Anxiety,
and I was wondering how is it going to help? I mean it's a medicine and I have mental problems.

I'm always very nervous around people and I'm afraid to talk to them. I'm very quiet because I'm afraid that I will say something weird or stupid, or that they will think I'm boring. I also never go outside and I'm afraid to use the phone. Does anyone have experience with this and would Lexapro really help me with this?

Why do people develop social anxiety?

Social anxiety is the fear of interaction with other people that brings on self-consciousness, feelings of being negatively judged and evaluated, and, as a result, leads to avoidance.Social anxiety is the fear of being judged and evaluated negatively by other people, leading to feelings of inadequacy, inferiority, embarrassment, humiliation, and depression. If a person usually becomes (irrationally) anxious in social situations, but seems better when they are alone, then "social anxiety" may be the problem.*NOW THE MAIN QUESTION IS WHY DOES IT DEVELOP*Firstly, Social anxiety is different from shyness. Shyness is usually short-term and doesn’t disrupt one’s life. Social anxiety is somewhat persistant .The exact cause of social phobia is unknown. However, current research supports the idea that it is caused by a combination of environmental factors and genetics. Negative experiences also may contribute to this disorder, including:bullyingfamily conflictsexual abusePhysical abnormalities such as a serotonin imbalance may contribute to this condition. Serotonin is a chemical in the brain that helps regulate mood. An overactive amygdala (a structure in the brain that controls fear response and feelings or thoughts of anxiety) may also cause these disorders. Also ,Anxiety disorders can run in families. However, researchers aren’t sure if they’re actually linked to genetic factors. For example, a child might develop an anxiety disorder by learning the behavior of one of their parents who has an anxiety disorder. Children can also develop anxiety disorders as a result of being raised in controlling or overprotective environments.Overthinking too plays a major role in the development of social anxiety.

Can smoking pot help me with my social anxiety?

Well to be completley honest, you shouldn't do drugs. I used to smoke weed and didn't have anxiety. I stopped for a VERY long time, and I developed panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder. So i tried smoking again. And for the time I was high, it made it TEN times worse. Everyone's body is different. So i cannot say how it will be for you. I don't think you should do it, but I am not here to judge. There are a lot of other options out there, like medication, or coping skills which is finding a niche that helps you feel relaxed whether it's meditating or coloring or video games or music. You have one trust me, you just have to expeirement and see what works best for you. Weed can make you become more anxious and dependent in the end. But like I said I'm not here to judge. I hope though that you get some help, because anxiety is a HORRIBLE thing to have to deal with. I hope you'll feel better soon, and make some right choices for you. Feel better and best wishes.

I’m 23 and have mild social anxiety. I feel like no one likes me and will ever like me, and I just feel hopeless about the future. How can I change this? Is it possible?

Hi there,I know exactly how you feel. I suffered from anxiety for years and the panic attacks were so bad that I would often pass out. It was easier to just stay in and avoid life.A year ago I discovered the law of attraction and have used it to tackle my anxiety. The results have been overwhelming. Not only have I become more confident but my entire life has improved dramatically. I really credit it to the law of attraction. Not sure if you have heard of manifestation and anxiety being linked but I totally recommend anyone with anxiety gives it a go.If you want more info I did find this article online about someone else who tackled their anxiety with the law of attraction and I thought the story was pretty inspiring. All the best, hope it helps. How The Law Of Attraction Cured my Anxiety |
