Yes,Columbia is not the best brand right now. I just got a north face to replace my columbia today. But as long as it is keeping you warm, who cares? If you still like your Columbia and it is warm enough for you then keep it.

One of my favorite school trips as a child was to the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum where you can visit the small house ordered from a Sears catalogue where Richard Nixon was born and spent his early childhood. Even if you are not enthusiastic about his presidency or fond of who he was as a person it's an interesting educational experience to go there. My younger siblings recently went to the library and had some of the same reflections about the house as I did. It's very small but charming, and he shared not just his tiny room but his bed with his brothers in his boyhood. I realize that most people on here are considerably younger than Nixon, but you probably belong to a generation that is quite different than mine as someone born in the 90s and just now coming into adulthood. I'm curious about what your childhood homes were like. I think a house can sort of be like a biography with walls instead of pages. It often shows the sensibilities and circumstances of the families that lived in it, and is a reflection of the cultural attitudes and economy of the times. What was yours like? How was the room you had a teenager decorated? Did it reflect your personality and interests at the time? Did you share it? If you went off to college, what was your dorm room like?
