What should I eat if I am hungry?

What’s in your pantry and fridge? If you have some staples around, you can always make a quick meal with very little effort. One example - potato and leek soup. Dice the leeks and potatoes and saute them until the leeks are soft and the potatoes ar warm. Add some chicken or vegetable stock, which you can buy in those cardboard containers and it stays good with no refrigeration for up to a year. Always have a few boxes in your pantry and you can make home made soup in a jiffy. Cook until the potatoes are soft, blend it in a blender or with a stick blender and add salt and pepper to taste. Very simple, and it take about thirty minute start to finish. Then, you’ll have leftover soup next time you get hungry. You can fancy it up by adding diced tomatoes, corn, croutons, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, whatever you have handy. Even a couple of thinly sliced scallions on top is decorative and tasty.Another quick snack or meal is hummus or bean dip. Things you should always have in your pantry include canned beans or chickpeas, tahini, garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, maybe some fresh herbs or a lemon. Just drain and rinse the beans and toss them in a blender or food processor with some tahini, a couple of cloves of garlic, enough lemon juice and olive oil to loosen the mix until it blends into a smooth paste. Add salt and pepper to taste. And please, if you make it with beans instead of chickpeas, don’t call it hummus. You don’t even need the tahini. one of my favorite Italian restaurants serves their before dinner bread basket with little ramekins of white bean dip - just beans, olive oil and garlic. It’s delicious and really fast to make. You can eat your bean dip on pita or toasted bread, tortilla chips, or crudites.

Im REAllY hungry but i just got braces, what should i eat?

OOOhhhh! I remember how that hurt. When I first got my braces, and each month when they were tightened, I lived on grilled cheese sandwiches, cream of tomato soup, french fries and vanilla milk shakes. Mashed potatoes would be good -- macaroni and cheese -- scrambled eggs -- bananas -- jello with lots of whipped cream ... anything you like, that is soft and easily chewed.

Just go to bed and get a good night's sleep. Most people don't tend to sleep well on a full stomach since the body concentrates on the digestion of the food instead of your body sleeping. You'll have a good breakfast in the morning and probably appreciate it more because of not snacking late at night.

Actually you could just drink some water and see if the feeling of hunger goes away. A lot of the time the hungry feeling is just your body telling you it needs some water. You can go a lot longer without food than you can without water. If you’re still hungry after some water, you could always grab some food :D Cheers!

Now, that’s a hard one to answer. I have seen folks with hardly any appetite struggle with gaining weight ( example, Cancer patients after Chemotherapy). My advice is to evaluate your diet overall and then structure your meals accordingly.Many folks don’t feel like having breakfast first thing in the morning ( but it’s important). My answer to this is a high protein, fortified meal shake low in sugar . If you want the recipe ( with variations) leave a comment. Ideally, then, your largest meal of the day should be at lunch time, preferably well balanced with plenty of vegetables and complex carbohydrates.Dinner ( especially a late one) can be a comforting bowl of oatmeal or buckwheat pancakes, or pasta- the simple carbohydrates near bedtime help you sleep.

Hi i just got braces like 2 days ago (i am 13 btw) and i am starving everything i eat hurts but not because if the braces its because of the scratches and sores they made in my mouth!! what can i eat besides like jello yogurt and stuff like that... what can i eat that is filling that wont be bad for my braces or hurt my sores...??

This is really a question for your doctor. Given the description you provided, you sound somewhat similar to me. I can go all day and not really ever get hungry.This doesn't mean I don't like to eat. On the contrary, eating is probably one of my favorite past times. But when I get caught up working on something or even if I'm just sitting around the house, I've unintentionally skipped all of my days meals before. Usually I'll get a little bit peckish at night and eat a late dinner, that being my only meal for the day. On one of my most recent doctor appointments, I was told I was underweight and should eat more. (Sincere apologies to anyone struggling with weight loss, as this was the best news I'd ever gotten from my doctor).To make a long story short, I did. I try to eat at least two square meals a day now, and though I sometimes still miss a lunch or two, my diet is much more reasonable these days.But yeah, I still hardly ever feel hungry. I've done some searching on this phenomena in the past, and have found very little conclusive information. I do know that I have a fast metabolism, which only really adds to the mystery as to why I don't feel hunger. If any other doctors on Quora have information on this, I'd love to hear it.The other answers provided so far are very much true when you're dealing with the average person who feels hunger at regular intervals. Eating when you're not hungry for this type of person will likely lead to unwanted weight gain. But if you're at all like me, just ask yourself: "Have I eaten enough today?" If it's 6:00 in the evening and you haven't eaten yet, you probably should eat regardless of whether you feel hungry or not.
